Lyrics
I have a picture pinned to my wall
An image of you and of me and we're laughing, we're loving it all
Look at our life now, we're tattered and torn
We fuss and we fight and delight in the tears and we cry until dawn
Hold me now, warm my heart
Stay with me, let loving start, let loving start
Hold me now, warm my heart
Stay with me, let loving start, let loving start

Side note: my friend used to play and tour with The Thompson Twins on drums!😊

    • There's no more creativity in music anymore. It's always the same. The voices all sound the same and just can't capture the magic of the decades of old. Though contradictory to that statement there are a lot of amazing synth wave of today I discovered a lot of them through this retro wave wallpapers app on my phone that plays retro style synthwave music, my all time favorite would be this song called Still Haunting Me by Magic Dance. I highly recommend it, it needs to be heard. But in general the standard popular music is today just has no magic anymore.

  • I was in middle school when this came out. I heard it on the radio and made my parents sit in the car with me in the garage until it was done. • On this day, 40 years ago, this song peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100, staying there for 2 weeks, losing to two consecutive #1s, "Against All Odds (Take A Look At Me Now)" by Phil Collins and "Hello" by Lionel Richie. Not only it's #3 in the US, but also #3 in Australia and Canada. This became the biggest hit of Thompson Twins when it comes to popularity and chart performance.

  • This song popped into my head the other day, out of the blue. When it came out, It struck me hard at the time, 12, clueless, and skipping along the pond of life. 39 years later, I'm blown away at how well produced, arranged, and performed it is. The 80's just crushed it, and I'm lucky to have been coming of age at the time. It sent me on an 80's journey of music.

  • I had tickets to see The Police following their Synchronicity album. It was at the Hollywood Park race track (terrible venue) and there were several opening bands that were very big in the new wave genre. Berlin, The Fix, Thompson Twins then The Police. I was more of a rocker and was there for the Police. I must say that Berlin and The Fixx were ok, but The Thompson Twins absolutely killed it. I was shocked. I had heard a couple of their songs on MTV, but they really had a great sound and energy live. Every time I hear them I think of that day.

Made no difference Friday,Sunday,Wednesday all were fair game, eash night turned into the next till they all blended together. Each of us fighting our own demons and losing. Time after time we said we have to stop this insanity and grow up. This particular song reminds me of a love deeper than physical. A love for someone that you want to survive forever. Candy is one of the lucky ones who by the grace of God made it out. I miss her dearly and want only the best for her. I only wish I could just hold her now one more time to say goodbye.
