I was due to see Simple Minds this year but couldn't for obvious reasons, I am hoping for 2021 to be better. No disrespect to modern artists, but when you listen to most of what is on the radio, it is total toilet. Most best new music is not being given the airtime it deserves. *a part, apart means the opposite ;D
If I needed to summarize or represent "The Eighties" with just a single song, it would undoubtedly be this one!
Canucks fans do actually clap like that
"The Movie that defined a generation"....you can taste the 80ties listening to this!
Eightyties lol
(defined a generation X 1980s) baby bloomer and millennial
1980s ! The Best of My Generation. 1st on my Playlist. 1985 was the best year of my adolescence: High school music fun. Carefree days of my youth. Songs from 80s were called New Wave mostly British Irish bands dominate the Billboards Pop Charts. Duran Duran Tears For Fears SimpleMinds Spandau Ballet PetShop Boys Wham OMD Culture Club Flock of Seagulls 😁😀
Simple Minds reluctantly recorded this thinking it would be throw away song to a throw away movie. Turns out both the song and the movie pretty much defined the 80's.
Last day of high school in 2012 I played this song on cassette in my 78 wagoneer when I left the parking lot for the last time. One of my favorite memories 😂
Can not wait until they do the dinner club
What about the lunch club?
The music was great, people were chilled, being a teenager was so much fun and no distractions from social media, selfies, devices, internet.... we were too busy living life to the fullest in a very organic, simple way, the 80"s, damn good time.
I agree fully, there were more respect amongst teenagers, innocent in the true sense. 70's80's & 90's was the best music era
God you’ll lucky I was born in the wrong generation everyone at high school is on the internet or phones, after watching the breakfast club high school looked fun af in the 80s
@@almighty5839 funny you said that, my 16 year old daughter told me the other day she would be very interested to live in the 80’s. We watched the Breakfast Club together and share my stories.
@@kaiasmith5210 yup I’m in high school rn and it’s shit to what this movie showed
@@almighty5839 not just high school, life in general was fun and especially for young people. We didn't have or need Apps to meet people or socialise, we were always out and about, having a good time. People wouldn't get their knickers in a twist about things, so laid back...
80’s music are the best
It was a very special time and will never be forgotten.
I agree with you
jet suguitan facts !!!
@@danielphipps851 just a special time very special time
i am here because this is the Vancouver Canucks Goal song ❤
It doesn’t matter if you’re a fan of Simple Minds or not, this song is legendary.
One thing that blows my mind, they didn’t write it. Billy Idol was approached to perform it but he passed. In the end, no matter who wrote it or performed it THIS was the perfect outcome. Totally agree, legendary.
No man breakfast club
Agree, that's why it keep's a Popping Up on my Play List.
they don't make music like this anymore
65 years young and still jamming to these great songs!!! Thank You!!!!
Me too!
Yea, me too... 62, Young
Right on
Stop making me feel old.. 😂 👍
Right on you Neo Maxi Zoom Dweebie!
My dad told me one day while we were driving somewhere for breakfast. He played this song. He said.. "Mia.The day I die.. I want you to play this song for me.. It would be something amazing for you to do for me. Like paying respects." I cried. And said "Ofc dad. I'd love too." Just so you know.. my dad's back is always hurting. He's always in pain physically.Thinking about him hurting makes me incredibly sad. But I'm glad to do this for him when he does pass away.
Damn that’s deep
i hope he lives to see you grow and i hope he will recover asap.
Very moving story.
Gee, I hope that his back pain isn't the reason for his demise. The way this sounds, it makes one believe that he's on his death bed.
50 wins baby and all thanks to this song
Yeah!!! Go Canucks Go
Forever, the 80s will have such a magical moment in history. Something very special about the exploration and genuine passion in the music.
When you listen to this song it is impossible to not think about how great the 80s must have been
This song and movie (Breakfast Club) was our high school to the T. Miss those times!
Not “must have been” - they were - great times i miss so much
The best time of all for music.
believe me it wasn't all great. especially following the 60's and the 70's i thought alot of the music was total garbage especially synth pop. this tune is great though of course.
@@NoirL.A. Opinions vary although not many have yours!
It's 2024 and I've still got this on high rotation... 👌
Logical. The 80s sound better every year.
songs will never be this good
