Making a Router Lifter // Freze Tezgahı İçin Asansör Sistemi

2021 ж. 26 Ақп.

Hello friends, in this video i'll be making a simple router lifter. I upgraded my table saw with this router lifter. So my table saw is a 2 in 1 workstation now. Hope you like it.
Merhaba arkadaşlar, bu videoda basit bir freze asansörü yapıyorum. Bu freze asansörünü tezgah testereme monte ederek onu iki fonksiyonlu bir tezgaha dönüştürüyorum. Umarım beğenirsiniz.

  • After my previous home-made router lift broke when the lifting thread became damaged, I thought I would try this as it looked pretty straightforward. I'm sure the basic idea is very good but I struggled to get the accuracy needed. Therefore a couple of notes of caution. a) the wooden square frame that holds the router in place has to made very accurately. Firstly the wood has to be cut perfectly square and to the exact dimensions otherwise the router will not be held tightly - not a good idea!. It also has to be assembled square as otherwise the router will not be truly vertical when the final assembly is complete. Obviously I'm not as good as Gokman as mine was not quite right b) Gokman drilled out the holes for the guide rods at the beginning. There is no play in the bearings and if any of the holes are slightly in the wrong place, then the assembly will not sllde smoothly. c) I also didn't follow how you can force 10mm guide rods into 9mm holes and keep them perpendicular to the board (again needed to smooth movement) so I drilled 10 mm holes and used epoxy. Given my first failure and as I wanted the router to be fully perpendicular to top face of the assembly, I decided to cheat and bought a router mounting bracket from ebay for £20. I bolted this to some plywood and mounted 2 bearings on that wood. I also fitted the bearings first and used them to mark the position of the holes for the guide rods. A 3rd bearing was attached to the bracket with epoxy and then its guide-rod hole drilled I still need to attach things to my (different shaped) table opening but hopefully the tricky stuff is done

  • I made a DIY router lift very similar to your design. I had an unresolvable problem with it that I do believe your unit will also have. No locking mechanism. How to keep the lift from vibrating down with use? Gravity works! Even a very small change in the depth of cut can ruin a work piece. After many, many trials to correct this abnormality, I scraped it and purchased manufactured router lift with a locking system built in. Problem solved.
