    • A lot of famous comedians say that timing is the one thing that you can't teach. You can teach someone joke writing, how to play to a crowd, etc. But the timing of a good bit has to come naturally.

    • Sadly the movie did not do well at the box office because some dumb Marvel movie took the entire audience. Sorry to say this but I sometimes hated that Marvel movies took all theater screens and never give other movies to shine

    • @@DenienN nah Angry Birds have a small audience, it's a kids movie btw and it's from Sony so not many people will see the movie in one theater. Civil War was released 3 weeks before Nice Guys and within that 3 weeks, people still watch Civil War by then. Angry Birds and Nice Guys have a small audience cuz Civil War took the entire screens by the next 3 weeks

    • @@BryanCostner Those movies were going against each other. It was not a Civil War. Angry Birds made 350mil$ [70] while NiceGuys made about 60mil$ on a 50mil$ budget. Considering the height of the movie stars in Nice Guys, it was a comercial flop...totaly outgunned by animated movie

  • as a canadian...ive met over 2 dozen if not more people just like ryan gosling. the sarcastic, dry, serious but funny comedic timing is a very canadian gesture. sometimes if theres a serious moment like an announcement of someone passing...youre left confused if people whos character is like ryans...you cant tell if theyre serious or being inappropriately funny. its a mix of a born talent and background upbringing in canada.

    • I lived in Canada for two years, and I found passive aggressive politeness to be the dominant trait. "Sorry" is used as an insult, in a way I've never heard before. If you're blocking the pathway, someone will say "sorry" to get past you, and the undertone will be as clear as day; "Move, you fucking moron"

  • In my opinion, this movie is horribly underrated. A beautiful, rather silly old school comedy, Shane Black did a great job, and the chemistry between Crowe and Gosling made this one of my favorite comedies of recent years.

  • I totally agree. They have great chemistry. Ryan is just ridiculously gifted at comedy. He plays it low key but he is hysterical the way he does it. The timing is always spot on too. I wish they would make a second movie. I guess the first didn’t make enough money but it was pretty great.
