Three new wolf puppies at Bays Mountain Park in Kingsport, Tenn. have arrived and are now joining in with howling with the main pack.

    • @@watermelonlover745 the amount of times wolves have attacked people, especially without being directly provoked, is next to zero. wolves dont see humans as prey. we are too tall, too dangerous, and wolves have evolved to either avoid us or join us (dogs). the lack of wolves in areas around the US has resulted not only in enviromental problems, but rapid surges in coyotes and boar populations, animals that do attack humans, their pets and their lands directly.

  • I did some volunteering at a wolf sanctuary in colorado for about a week and the wolves would all howl together at 5AM and 5PM. It was haunting in a way that's difficult to describe to wake up in your cot before the sun is up to the sound of wolves howling for miles around you. It was beautiful, but so chilling. The ambassador pack was really friendly though and even let you pet their bellies. Wolves in general are not violent creatures.

    • Often young wolves (if alone obviously) are safe enough that they're basically like dogs until they're around two years old. Still wouldn't recommend going up to them but its funny that puppies are just puppies no matter what.
