This match is literally like a chill rolling session at the gym
ong
I like how neither really tries to actually slap the other and Cerrone just does little love taps on craig
Is this a contest or a grabutt contest
You like that huh?
big mistake by Cerrone
i feel like donald agreed not to slap if craig agreed not to go after the legs.
Lame as hell. This is combat jj
That's the kindest combat JJ match I have ever seen.
Nice match, felt like Craig was testing himself, trying new things and also letting Cowboy work. Overall, both very respectful and it seemed like a good learning experience for both
They seemed to be having fun, anyway.
Yea Craig was playing with him, clearly could’ve submitted him instantly with a leg lock or nearly anything if he wanted to. This is like if a black belt were vs a blue belt.
Great job by RFK Jr
He was going at half speed like I grapple my kids, that was pathetic.
Hilarous seeing Cowboy briefly flash the Muay Thai knee in the clinch for absolutely no reason!
Hehe. yeah Beltran was laughing 😂
Agreed. Did you see the big smile on the referee's face when he did it? It was awesome
Reflex !
2:03
That was good stuff all around. All three of them got a kick out of it.
feel like Craig was going easy, but Donald was looking pretty good considering!
Craig is going suuuper easy..
he was the closest to beating the modern Gordon Ryan so yeah he was most definitely going extremely easy
He said himself he's on the good shit now a days.
@@OK-jc6qc1. greg said he was a walk in the park(teasing him), not us. 2. If you train, or let alone just watch jiu jitsu, you would clearly see the difference in a hard roll vs a light roll. they clearly respect the eachother & probably a fan of eachother craft… why you so butthurt? 😂🤦🏽♂️
@@OK-jc6qcthis was easier than a walk in the park for craig, he was being very nice to cowboy.
If an announcer loses their voice they should find a replacement who has healthy vocal cords.
Could just be a sick boi fighting through it. But yeah they should have backups
Seriously
Sounds like he has been smoking since he was 5..
That actually might be Mike Jaramillo announcing, coach at the blue basement Renzo academy, that’s just how he talks.
@@Achilles5Cenci he’s really got a voice for print media, like how I have a face for radio
You can tell these dudes were just having fun
Look how happy the ref is
its because they let him show his beard
He's a fan of both
He's having a good time. Loves both of them and knows they're both highly experienced and respected, so he won't have to enforce rules that much. Probably feels privileged to be reffing that match.
This was so much better to see a proper back and forth than just being over in 30 seconds, now i know how my wife feels..
So many levels in BJJ.
Yep, not enough belts really.
Not really DJ Jay is something that anybody can pick up and become an expert in if they are talented enough. You can be bjj black belt after like 3-4 weeks if you’re smart.
@@ZxAMobile not at all lmao you couldn't become a blue belt in 3-4 weeks much less a black belt
This felt like an exhibition fight, a tremendous fight regardless.
Well yeah, I'm sure they had a pre match agreement for Cowboy to not rip the ground and pound and Craig to not rip heel hooks. They were both still very active at the time and getting injured meant losing money. This was obviously a match for fun.
It's Ceronne's first pro BJJ match. Craig Jones is a decorated BJJ fighter with multiple tournament wins.
It basically is an exhibition match. Why else would an MMA fighter fight one of the best BJJ fighters in the world?
the smile on mike beltrans face watching these legends roll makes me so happy
A good natured encounter, some wonderful sweeps by Craig.
Donald Cerrone has practicing Jiu-Jitsu for well over a decade. People really underestimate how much time mixed martial artists put into a variety of disciplines, but alot of these guys have dedicated years of their lives to developing their ground game. Plus they are wrestling college and even olympic wrestlers.
What exactly is your point here?
Craig could’ve ended this in the first min if he wanted to
Yea I agree what is your point cuz Donald got played with like a white belt. It’s not like he didn’t know it was gonna happen, he clearly wasn’t pounding Craig in the face because he knows Craig could do it much worse to him if he chose to.
10 years of BJJ is like black belt level. Regardless, he didn’t fare too well against Craig Jones but still a cool match to see.
@@JB-wv9jo The summary is in the statement dumbass. People underestimate the expertise of mixed martial artists in this discipline, but contrary to the popular view they are often quite skilled at it. Is that clear enough for you?
Cerrone slapping craig all the time is quite funny
Craig Jones brilliance. Props for Cowboy to step outside his comfort zone - that takes heart. Cerrone had a blast, which was great to see. Thanks to both for putting on an entertaining fight. it was fun to watch.
It's such an amazing feeling to watch a C-BJJ match with a smile. Love it
Always killing it and making everyone have a good time about it : the crowd, the referee and even his opponents. #2 in grappling rankings but def #1 jiu jitsu legend of this new era. Gordon has nothing on this man.
give gordon his respect gordon destroyed this dude
@@fuhq6731 i will be part of the few who don't, you keep yourself with the herd of Gordon fans. He has enough of you guys so you don't need me. Feel free to bang your head against the wall if you don't like it, see if i care.
@fuhq6731 I wouldn't say destroyed... but yes gordon gave him the business. But Jones has put gordie in some dangerous places before
Great rolling thanks for the vid!
Is no one going to mention how majestic the refs moustache is?
Craig was just having fun with cowboy. How insane man. Levels to this shit.
Craig so damn smooth just flowing with a UFC legend
Props for them getting rfk jr to do thd introductions and commentary.
Lol
Lmfao 😂😂
This is awesome for the sport! Well done Craig and Donald!
100%
Props to Cowboy, that wasn't exactly a walk in the park
Saying “that wasn’t exactly a walk in the park” is sooooo disrespectful to Craig Jones
Craig was barely trying
@@rhmotes Craig was definitely not rolling hard & was just having fun with the experience. generous guy took in consideration, that he’s bigger then cowboy & cowboy is getting old. Craig hate him or love him, he a nice dude with a passion of jiu jitsu 😂💯
it kind of was tho
@@Darrel219 is that why craig LOST to sean brady an mma fighter lolll
absolutely incredible match to watch! that level of kindness is really astonishing!! Cowbow all day every day!! we need more matches like this, sometimes MMA is just too vicious..
Craig was definitely going like 12% lmao
Great match. Respect to both fighters.
Straight Class, Craig being the instructor that he is, was never feeling any danger in the grappling. I don't even think he made threw one palm strike.
You can tell the guys like each other, and they did not want to smack each other
2 great guys and legends in their own sport.
craig doing some catch and release
That's the strangest part of combat JJ. Is he striking or tapping? hehe.
lol
I read this in Paulie’s voice.
@@TehUltimateSnake hehe
Love your channel. Please make some Jiu Jitsu focused videos :,(
Both
These guys are just having fun. good to see. flowy.
This seems so much better than watching guys like shogun and tony past their primes just getting shelled at the end of their careers.
CJ was just having fun. He's so good at grappling.
Someone give this commentator a glass of water ASAP
Awesome that RFK was commentating!
cowboys ground game was always beautiful to watch.. shame he didnt use it more
the slapping 😆
Hard to tell a tap vs a strike. This seems to be an issue.
Was thinking the same thing. Hard to verbally submit in some positions as well.
This looked like nothing more than a light work out? It honestly looked like Craig could have finished it at any time he wanted. Still fun to watch.
I didn’t know Dana hired RFK to be an announcer, thats awesome
Massive respect between both men
Two of the most humble practitioners of the sport
RFK did a great job announcing 👏
Nice of them to have the Marlboro man as a guest commentator
Cowboy instinctively about throws a knee in the clinch and stops himself. Love that dude. Just out there having a blast and competing.
Love both those guys. They had fun , made it a better match.
Haha, love Cerrone flashing the knee at 2:03. Even got a smile out of Beltran.
Seems like a fighter in trouble will use the tapping/strikes to start the tap when the opponent starts to release the sub they will say it was not a tap.
I was skeptical first but after watch the match this shit is so good gj cerrone
A good work for the audience
I really like how fighters can have sponsors on their suits
Pretty easy win for Craig!
Craig Jones is such an elite Grappler. I'm a huge fan
This was great lol
Craig really was playing that fight. Insane how good he is
Ooooh, this was a fun one!
That Ref has a LEGENDARY mustache.
They keep cutting the camera angle on the key moves so you can't see the positions. So frustrating.
This match looks like a flow roll with good technique.
So can somebody explain what's this? Is this a part of the UFC? Does it have constant cards like UFC's on saturday or not?
I don't know but it's got me nervous
its jiu jitsu matches with slaps as striking - it has a superfight card on the 29th of june this month craig jones is also fighting on it also if your a fan of the ufc this is volkanovskis BJJ coach (guy in the blueshorts in the video).
It's on fight pass, and they have a few events every now and then
@@khanoncrack3309 is this the 'league' where Gordon Ryan for example and other best bjj players fight too, or that's something else/that doesn't exist in the BJJ world? Thank you for answering so quickly btw, I truly appreciate it!
@@harlemdeni the best bjj athletes gordon ryan etc compete on ufc fight pass aswell sometimes however they dont do combat jiu jitsu (jiu jitsu with striking) also they compete in ADCC basically the olympics of jiu jitsu
This dude is a beast!
The instinct knee from cowboy was funny.
Since slaps to the head are allowed, thoughts on slaps to the body as well? Still no palm strikes obviously, and maybe start with no slaps under the belt unless fighters wear cups (assuming they don't already)
Would love to see a BJJ guy do a gauntlet vs UFC fighters and try to sub all of them. That'd really show the skill difference between fighters and bjj guys
Clear respect between them both.
Crazy level difference, Craig is just playing with him.
Cowboy hopping away from Greg was hilarious. Greg, Greg Jones.
Was this an old fight ?
Both great dudes.
The vocal fry on this poor bloke is unreal😂
Craig just playing around haha
The announcer is an advertisement for anti-cigarettes. His voice sounds like his dad was asphalt and his moms an ashtray.
whast the rule here ? slaps are okay? or just no knuckles? or no big swings as well?
It was a fun fight put together with one of the world’s greatest grapplers and a ufc star, so i would say cerrone is just fucking around
The rules of CJJ only permit open hand slaps or strikes when one or both competitors are on the floor. The fighter on the ground does not commit a foul if they swing strikes or up kicks on their opponent. However, punches, elbows, and knees are fouls in the game. simple google search will tell you these things
Need more combat jui jitsu
I love Cerrone, this was such a fun match.
2:05 seconds in i already seen cowboy pull back a knee in the clinch xD this should be fire
Those some slick sweeps…
Love Cowboy forever. Legend.
When UFC fighters go into a straight Jiu Jitsu tournament. They have to remember not to be so aggressive.
Bahaha Graig’s just amazing isn’t he. I would love to see him take an mma fight 😂.
This announcer's voice is KILLING me.
Is Doc Rivers doing BJJ commentary?
is rfk jr the commentator?
I told everyone that cowboy looked the same. Everyone freaking out because he took a photo in the right lighting
Would like to see what it looked like if Donald chose to throw serious strikes in the ground exchanges. But at the same time Craig looked like he was cruising.
Like a lot of the guys from JacksonMMA in ABQ, Cowboy was trained in BJJ by Tussa and Barrata of Gracie Barra NM.
this was a nice exhibition match
That buggy was disrespectful
the guy with the shagged was trying so desperately haha
Am I REALLy the only one that cares about ref's glorious beard?
Jones was just fucking with him. He could have ended that in less than a minute
Buggy from full mount looks crazy. Seems actually useful in mma. They won’t really be able to strike you. They will try for a slam. Gives you time to let go and get a scramble. These guys got paid to have fun. Craig taking it easy on bjj and cowboy taking it easy on striking. This looks like a ufc open workout.
Cerrone, my all time favourite human and fighter.
Who is the announcer? Rkj
Craig was definitely going easy on Cerrone. He was in their with a ufc legend. He wanted to enjoy his time.
I thought this was combat Jiu Jitsu not a friendly sparring session.
So wholesome
