I was skeptical about your glass towels being any better than the ones I already have but gave them a shot. Yours are thicker and heavier. I may get a second or third set because they get used a lot.

    • I just want to let you know that I have a 2013 Acadia and it's different inside. Mine has cloth seats, and the second row is a ⅓ ⅔ split bench that you can adjust front or backways for more leg room. Yes, the battery is underneath the passenger side second row. However, we've never heard of anybody having problems getting to it. (We've had it changed twice since we've had the car. I guess if the mechanics know where it is, it's not a problem. ) And even raising 3 kids with tons of softball, adult baseball and lacrosse practices, We've never let it get this dirty! (It does fit in a car wash, and vacuuming is easy since all the seats fold down!)

  • Another great job! After owning a 2015 Acadia, same model for the past 7.5 years, it served me well, however you are definitely spot on when it comes to design flaws and the interior cleaning was always a pain for me. Don’t even get me started on the cramped engine bay. Yeah the v6 is great, however, other than oil changes any engine work even minor requires it to be dropped and doubling any repair cost. Too bad about the second row seats being seized, without removing them, they do slide up for making cleaning easier.

    @DennisFederwitz@DennisFederwitz5 ай бұрын
    • So the giant hole in the second row floor with what looks like a battery hanging out at 9:58...is that just how this car was designed or did someone do something after market and fill like a storage compartment with a second battery?

  • I appreciate that you 'disassemble' the vehicles as much as possible. Had I not followed up on a poor detail I paid for on my farmer's field find 99 suburban, I would not have discovered the beginnings of what could become problematic rusting on the interior side of the floor pans. Unfortunately for the next new owner of today's vehicle you've presented, no amount of interior/exterior detailing will overcome what has to be a complete disaster of a motor and drive train.

  • 8:36 Another thing I want to add about is the seats are not the only poorly designed item on this vehicle. I know you don’t do mechanical repairs, but the front struts are not designed to be easily replaced either. • 8:36 - I just cleaned my wife’s 2017 Enclave and I hate doing it. The seat and door design is awful. The front door is too small for the seat to fit through and the rear seat is a pain in the ass to remove. Like you said, the engineer or engineers that designed that body style need fired. The other thing I despise is the carpet. Everything seems to stick to it, making it a nightmare to vacuum. The only thing I can say that’s positive is that after the carpet is vacuumed it does clean up easily.

Recently retired my old 2011 Kia Rio5 and when I brought it in to the dealership to trade, the service tech and the salesman both mentioned the car was surprisingly clean inside and out for being a 12 year old vehicle. I told them I watch Detail Geek and they both knew exactly what I was talking about. We got a laugh out of it. But yeah, thank you for these videos! • Mitch, I agree with you, the Arcadia's and other new vehicles aren't made as well as they should be. Manufacturers are constantly looking for ways to save money at the expense of the owners.

  • Usually with a design process, several people have to approve something before it's passed on to manufacturing, so whoever it is directly responsible for the flawed design is unfortunately not the only one that would have to go to fix it..

  • Bought bunch of your interior products excited to use them to get my truck caked in mud from rainy days of construction inside out and some seat covers and after I get paint match bumpers/grill and dent from hit and run popped out I’m excited to try your exterior and paint products and hopefully get a beater so it can be pavement princess, most products from box stores leave truck streaky and blotchy no matter how precise so excited to try something new that was on sale Edit- comment you made about gm interiors coming clean very easy give me hope to

  • I really love your videos, Mike! I've been watching since 2019, and I can't wait for this year's awarding haha I bet this car is on the list! By the way, you should do more car reviews while detailing for our future reference. Thanks, Mike! Keep it up. 🤍

  • Seems like every other vehicle has some sort of body rust. I'm sure it's because of salty roads in winter, but how do you combat this?

  • Great video as usual. What pressure washer wand are you using? I don't see it mentioned in the description, but every other tool and product is there. I've spent some time searching, but can't seem to find any details. Thank you.

  • Seriously, Mitch - do you ever get to detail any “normal” vehicles? I know they wouldn’t be as entertaining for us, but I don’t know how you stay motivated if you’re cleaning an endless succession of pigsties on wheels. I haven’t seen any cars as bad as these, much less ridden in one.

  • I remember cleaning these Acadia's when working For Enterprise. They were an absolute pain to clean the interior also how did they person see the gauge cluster with all that mud over it.

  • I love watching your videos! What I can’t figure out is why all of the detailing guys struggle so much removing rust? Have none of you ever heard of “Naval Jelly”? You just paint it on the rusty area, wait about 30 minutes and then wash it off with water and an absorbent towel. No elbow grease required!

    • The SUVs from this platform were designed by people who couldn't decide if they wanted a minivan or an SUV, so they borrowed the worst aspects of each to make it as unpleasant as an experience as possible for the owner to use and maintain
