All he did was run around the ring" Casuals that don't understand or appreciate the sport, who focus mostly on big name fights and have no appreciation for technical ability. It wasn't a spectacle fight but it wasn't boring either. Viddal displayed his skill, he has very good footwork, great head movement, he was judging his range well. He came in with the correct game plan on the night and executed it well. At times seemed a little bit jittery but he is still learning in the ring with every fight. He's now answered any questions about his fitness to be able to keep moving and go the distance Lawal struggled to throw any decent punches, stiff movement and did nothing to stop Viddal executing his game plan. Casuals need to learn to appreciate the sport more.

    • I don't know wether it's because lawal was so poor, but it was boring in my opinion. Like watching a spar. Just flicking he's punches out. No spite or bad intentions. Great movement but definitely not an exciting fight

    • @@themax2848 your right but for me personally, it didn't keep my attention. I do enjoy it theses sort of fights if they stick a bit behind the shots. Even the purists still want a sense that someone could hurt or stop, or at least drop the other. But it didn't feel like that at all. Like I said it was like a spar where a flat footed novice is trying to pin the experience guy down and the experienced guy just flicks shots out and takes the piss out of them. I later found out that Riley had bad ribs from early in so props to him, done what he had to do.

    • He was moving to prevent his opponent setting his feet and preventing him from throwing power punches, which is what you have to do against someone who relies on power punches... It was the definition of "hit and don't get hit", the essence of boxing. Running is where they do everything they can to not get hit and forget about hitting their opponent because they're nearly always out of range.

    • @@dontaskme7004 I hear you and I’m not going to pretend like I’m an expert. There’s movement as you said that’s hit and not get hit.. (I don’t expect him to be stupid and trade when he doesn’t need to) however boxers like Opetaia and Bivol who use movement and really engage. From what I saw the amount of times he cut left then right then right and left constantly circling without throwing nothing , then a few combinations and jabs here and there that Lawal wasn’t phased by looked like running / bidding time to me 🤷🏾‍♂️

  • Some of the people in these comments have no clue about boxing. I get it though barn burners are very entertaining but if you want to just watch ruthless scraps stick to watching backyard brawling. Irrelevant of the fracture to viddals rib, nobody would have guessed it with such a clinical display of boxing, the footwork was great for all 10 rounds but people forget it takes two to tango and lewal had nothing to offer viddal. Great performance from viddal, to me it shown levels, I think Taj gave him a tougher fight, hope the rib heals quick look forward to seeing what's next, great boxing as usual
