Raisina Dialogue 2024 Live | A Tapestry of Truths: Can the Two Hemispheres Agree? | S. Jaishankar
Raisina Dialogue 2024 | A Tapestry of Truths: Can the Two Hemispheres Agree? | The South has been castigated for a supposed failure to uphold universal values amid a European war. On the other hand, the South sees hypocrisy and neglect from the West during the pandemic, and in Afghanistan and the Middle East. In a real-time and unmediated world, both sides have enough ammunition to reduce the other to an unprincipled and untrustworthy partner. This polarised reality makes it difficult to respond to challenges that confront us all. The United Nations has been suborned by great powers and is seeking to find new ways to make itself relevant again. Smaller groups and regional clusters have stitched together a kaleidoscope of solutions that are sometimes sub-optimal and
sometimes inefficient.

Hanke Bruins Slot, Minister of Foreign Affairs, Netherlands

Always an honour to see powerful and articulate journalists like Palki get the recognition they deserve 👍🏻
India's very own *Raisina Dialogue* conferences started in 2016 to host international leaders is an excellent initiative by Modi government 👏🇮🇳🙏

Just to correct you it was initiated in 2013 with ASEAN countries, but had to reinforced and empowered with Top level diplomacy first forum from NDA tenure, 2016..
ORF /Raisina is brilliant thing to happen for Bharat. I always look for this event and watch most of episodes on KZhead. Wish ordinary people like me interested in such topics can attend in future.
Middle ground is a fantasy but working on common grounds should be the goal. Mr. Jaishankar always coming up with the most pragmatic and non-hesitant arguments.
As an Indian born and brought up in the Netherlands and having worked for the ministry of foreign affairs of the Netherlands.. I really think the Netherlands are very unfeeling towards the concerns of the Global south, and this conference just proves that. The lady was just answering like a robot who never moved away from her desk to understand what is really going in in the world. She spoke about ‘universal values’, ‘trust’ and ‘partnerships’ without showing how Europe will bend itself and actually build that trust with the Global south, which just shows immense ignorance and stubbornness from the Netherlands. Like the UAE representative said, Europe needs to acknowledge the diversity in our world rather than enforcing so-called ‘universal values’. Lots of talk from the Netherlands on trust, but she said nothing about how the Netherlands and Europe are going to practically build that trust. Funny how such countries then go on to lecture others on human rights, while they’re not willing to grow out of the imperialist mindset.
Very well said, its because it is blind to human roots and values!! I would go a step further and say it has lost its route, identification of this as a civilisation of diversity.. Trust is only built when you understand the broader picture, which Europe has clearly lost over generation.. That is why UAE, Africa and India seem to have common ground and understand values!! There might not be a "universal value" afterall when all the past somehow needs to be forgot when there is a real issue due to very same colonisers!!
Just amazing how Dr. Jaishankar puts forth the facts without naming any country.
I understand now why samir saran called raisina disagreement central. What a fantastic conversation with so many completely different pov's

I am so happy to see Ms. Palki on this August platform. A well deserved honour, one of the best interviewers/ anchors.

Bolivia has balls and that too iron balls!
25% lithium balls which China is digging
Jorge Quiroga has brutally trolled Lionel Messi and the Big 5 countries. Thank You
Quiroga has to go to the other side of the world to strut freely since in his country he can't even reach the corner of his house without being trolled or humilliated
Proud to be Indian.
"We all can agree to disagree and that's the beauty of dialogue", Great podcast 💕

excellent discussion.. great anchoring by palki..S. jaishankar rocks as usual.

Why is palki blamng USA for supporting Israel 🇮🇱 looks stupid Israel should pamper terrorists ? She’s asking stupid questions
india leading world like ceo Google Microsoft uk pm Pak epicenter of terrorism including 3H Hamas Hezbulla Houthi rebels
I believe expectations to ask taff questions really met by the Anchor, especially the Dutch one about the universal values 😁😁
Very true, I remember vividly EAM stating, we have to show mirrors time-to-time just to expose hypocrisy! Thats the beauty of conversations!!
Great to see Ms. Palki mam here
Palki mam with Saree 🥻 that amazing.
I'm going to watch that again to.
my one time my writting
Great discussion on some very important topics.

Atleast mention the name of panel when camera focused on them it will be helpful I haven't recognised till end who is who ?
Great conversation 👌 Good moderation and sharp questions were asked by Palki Sharma. Representation of African countries globally is an issue that needs attention. India should be given a permanent seat at UNSC. I think the Netherlands was supposed to represent "The West" here, but countries like the UK, USA, and France have more dominance. China needs to be monitored as well. All panelists gave good remarks on the questions. Hope to see more such debates 😊

Great
What problem we have if USA gives support to Israel 🇮🇱 Palki’s questions look stupid
Palki being palki 😂
I guess I mistakenly read China as Bolivia. Jokes apart, he talked more about China than his own country, or he was paid by China to say good things about China.
Or..prolly china engages them in ways the west and even india does not. If he's saying it so openly in india whom he knows is not best friends with xihina then it cud be a hint that...hi we r here and if u come propose and bring a ring we'll say yes
Did you miss the part where he talked about the pockets and the hearts? Maybe Geo-politics isn't your cup of tea and that's alright. go back to 'Saans bahu thi' serials.
@@yomamasohot6411 So you mean that Bolovia was for sale and China bought it and Bolivia is now kind of a chinese colony. Even Canada which is so much dependent on US, it don't act internationally as an American colony. As a country you should have some self respect, saying that china filled our pockets so we are all there's, sounds like a prostitute selling her for a night.
Audio not good, battery very low charged. Keeping Mike in a certain distance from the chair was the problem for low volume. Low standard of the organisation and organisers. For good volume, Mike must be near & front.
Damn, some meaningfully difficult questions were asked. I am satisfied
Why was there no introduction and then opening remarks by the speakers followed by a discussion?!
Chaturanga : conflict, contest, cooperate create
Hey Samir, we like Palki but she is not equipped to host a panel like this, please bring someone next rime with more depth and experience in the field, Palki is a talking head that reads scripts, she is unsuitable for such a discussion.
Agree - she was too rehearsed, no penetrative questions, wasted opportunity
@@abhaygoel4090 These are very high ranking officials. She has limited time and has to engage all of them and give them equal screen time. It ain't a normal podcast.
I hope you are not Indian😂, fantastic questions if you have any idea of whats happening in the world, is UN succeeded in stopping the wars, no then y is it in place? to supply weapons to war! and veto whenever they want! and are other countries supporting it or atleast who are on that stage and their views on reforms in UN. whats not to like in this conversation!!
@@si1entki11er people are expecting more spicy talk 😂
Good session
Why is Jaishankar sitting like he throws a lot of tantrums and is pissed off with the world
I think people doesn't know what's inside India and dual role and it's role in Chaos all over the world
WHY DOES THE HEADS OF THESE JOURNALISTS KEEP POPPING UP IN THE MIDDLE OF CONVERSATION? YOU SHOULD MAKE PROPER ARRANGEMENTS
Palki did not manage the time well. There was no time for audience questions.
palki sharmaji asking ukr refugee, donald trump saying to a nations represent how that relevant with glob issue...stooping deb level to india main stream media night deb question type
The stage design and lighting should be improved for the next conclave
You should provide some idea brother
please add titles in video
Please improve audio.
Rules based order? Who makes the rules? And who keeps the order? And which kind of order is better suited and dignified is defined by someone else who have zero knowledge about the region where they wish to establish 'order'.
British empire and its puppet
Agreed!! The Netherlands spoke from European-book knowledge on universalism rather than stepping into reality.
@@ShikhaNB True that.. when you are pinned to back and pushed with hard choices, their true faces show up!! As usual like classic WEST its always again them wanting to take moral upper ground!! World order was not created after World War 2!!
Hi! I am extremely interested in international relations. How can I get an invite to attend your events
You should check their website to contact
The production of this event could be better.
23:00 did she say its not western failure but universal failure?! The audacity to link colonialism to all countries.

East or west Jaishankar and Palki are the best ☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️☺️
I'm a bit disappointed by Palkis performance with playing hoast! There was no introduction. No confidence with her questions and any with responses.
She's a decent talking head for camera, but she lacks the depth herself to conduct such an event
dude palki is not a moderator..everyone knows who all are sitting in the panel..so why waste time introducing each of them..i think she did a good job.
Why does palki wraps rudrakshi around her wrist all the time 😮
quiroga tore the west apart.
Poor audio
Palki does not fail to give Cringe moments and extrapolated logic
uae rep high calibre
I want panelists to know that this dialogue is not all about INDIA you don't have to mention India in every word , India is Diverse, India acts like bridge , etc .... . You can set other examples also if you have it already 🤣🤣
bharath must act behave act accordingly both domestic area and international simultaneously....actions lacks speaks show off more now
A moderator should first give a brief introduction about the subject in question and not directly jump into asking questions. Also, there is an attitude of shyness in the moderator whereas she should have been a confident and bold one throwing up difficult topics to the speakers! Questions that she asked were anyways pre-decided. And therein lies the talent of a good anchor if he/she can add or spice up the conversation a bit with her own anectodes or some recent news piece and then throw the question to the speaker. There was no such thing from the moderator’s side. She was blunt in simply asking the questions which were there before her in that piece of paper! Very unprofessional of Palki Sharma
This is not a reality TV show. This is a geo-political discussion. Watch Bigboss if you want entertainment.

She did an amazing job. Asked very hard and important questions.
She's asking superficial questions with no depth of thought. Just compare this session with the previous one hosted by Samir Saran and Palki's an embarrassment in contrast.
