Pretty happy for Carolina as an unbiased observer who roots for another team, I didn’t think they deserved to be losing this series let alone down 3-0. If they can stay smart and not take bad penalties, I think they’ve outplayed New York for the bulk of this series so far but had some bad bounces and been atrocious on the penalty kill, obviously a lot of that is how good New York is on the power play but 5 on 5 Carolina has dominated the pace of play and possession and finally have one win to show.
Kakkos playmaking was sick in this one! Also lafreniere has played amazing in the poffs

People underestimate the Canes. As a Panther's fan, even though they swept them the Canes games were a big reason for the wear and tear the Panthers had when they reached the Finals. EDIT (THANKS TO oscarbates9590 and shadyparadox for correcting my math. Turns out it isn't a .04% chance as I put but a 2% chance, which is surprisingly better! Good luck guys and may the best team win!) Idk if a 3-0 reverse sweep has ever happened in the playoffs but if any team can get close its the Canes. Every game has been decided by one goal. Completing a 3-0 series comeback has happened 5 times, actually (4 in the NHL, 1 in MLB).
@@justinnzamora5366 that's insane. Out of about 9800 NHL playoff games, it's only happened 4 times.(EDIT: It's actually a 2% chance as I did the math incorrectly. Thanks to oscarbates9590 and shadyparadox for helping me out!) That's a .04 chance of succeeding. I mean the chances the Panthers had last year clinching game 81, to then face the record breaking President Trophy winning Boston Bruins team as the 8th seed with a 40 point differential between both teams, and coming back from being down 3-1 and winning was just as slim. The only NHL team in history to beat a record breaking team as an 8th seed and win coming back from a 3-1 deficit. So if the Canes pull it off, they'll defeat a President Trophy winning team in a 3-0 reverse sweep which would be pretty crazy as well.

The Bruins choked away a 3-0 series lead vs. Philadelphia in 2010... adding salt to that wound, Boston had a 3-0 lead in Game 7, only to lose the game (and thus, the series) in the most poetic and ironic fashion imaginable. And on a more positive note, the Red Sox overcame a 3-0 deficit vs. the NY Yankees to eventually win the ALCS, and ultimately the World Series that year.
@@paulgarcia9181 that calculation hurts to read. You need to see how many games there has been when down 3-0 not the total number of playoff games in history as every series that isn’t 3-0 never has a chance to record a comeback from 3-0 which eliminates 80% + of those games

@@mr.devil9577 They haven't dominated them. Peppering the goalie with 50 shots from the perimeter is not domination. The Rangers could do that too, that is not their style of play. The games have been incredibly close. Every game has been a one goal game. The Rangers are up 3-1 due to the special teams advantage. Awfully curious the Hurricanes played nearly perfectly clean hockey. Not one cross check, trip, or slash the final 42 minutes? Almost like the league wants this series to go 6 or 7.

Мне кажется, нужно будет больше играть в пас. Выход 3 в 1 давал чистый гол, там никто не блокировал игрока на штанге, но атакующий почему-то зарядил в ворота и не попал.

Best hockey in a while. What a series!! Canes and Anderson in particular had some puck luck in this one. I counted 3 posts and multiple how did that not go in moments before the third for the rangers. They are humming and Shesterkin is still looking wild even after tonight. GG canes! That first period was perfect in taking advantage of the ranger's lack of effort. Knew the PP was bound to come through, picked a hell of a time. We got a series, onwards to MSG hoping the rangers close it out. I'm so proud of Laffy, he's playing beyond his years.

The canes are a solid team, but they really need a new goalie. Andersen seems to fold under pressure.
Huh? That was about the most pressure he's been under in his entire career and got the W. I bet the Avs and Oilers wish they had Andersen as their starters going into these playoffs. He's only had 1 season, Toronto in 2020/21 with a SV% under .903 and GAA over 2.96. He was 5 games over .500 going 13-8, only one of two seasons that he didn't more than double his Ws over Ls, the other being with the Canes in 22/23 going 22-11 doubling it, but missed the playoffs due to an injury. The only folding he ever did was as a Leaf, and it was a team effort, he had no D and choking is their specialty. In 2021/22 Antti Raanta, his backup, was injured and replaced by Pyotr Kochetkov losing Game 7 to the Rangers, Alex Nedeljkovic was in goal when the Canes lost the series in Game 5 to the eventual Champs Tampa in 2020/21. Yes, they got pasted in 4 straight against the Panthers last year but that Florida team was tough, should have won the Cup, Andersen wasn't to blame.

Good game. This series should honestly be tied 2-2, both teams have been playing unreal. This is the ECF before the ECF. In fact, if the playoffs were seeded differently, I could absolutely see this being a SCF series. Both teams are very much contenders.

It's been a tough series. Rangers will likely have Chytil back on Monday and that will add some more firepower which I think will be the difference.

Honestly as a Rangers fan I don't disagree. Didn't want to give them any life but we probably need some adversity. There's some within the game obviously but we don't need anyone getting too cocky.

There were moments in the series when NY was luckier. 3:0 was quite cruel . There are definitely doubts whether NY will win on Monday. But yes, NYR will probably end it in game 5,6 or 7.

Kakko needs to stop with the blind passes praying someone's going to be in front of the net. It's killing great opportunities for the Rangers to score when they have the Canes scrambling to keep up.
