It happened to me today, one of the separators went inside my gums, and I was getting frightened that I had swallowed it by mistake. Thanks for the video.

What is the ligature then??
Excellent module, can you please share the cement you use? Thanks!
We use a two part glass ionomer cement. I can’t remember the brand name. You mix equal parts of the powder and liquid. Works well.
What if i dont want to put these on
When I got mine on, my ortho didn't have bands in the right size for my teeth. So he took the biggest ones he had and then took out some weird looking hammer and proceeded to hammer this ring on my tooth, which was painful as hell and broke off pieces of my tooth
the fuck lol
Omg?? Go to a different orthodontist!!

dr how to close the molar band space created by the six band? change to buccal tube 6 and 7 and power chain them towards the end of treatment? also is buccal tube 7 necessary more early stage like working on ap space closure as anchor and avoid its extrusion ?
I place brackets on all the teeth 7-7. Some orthodontist only place brackets 6-6 then add 7’s if they feel they need them but I find that bracketing 7-7 helps me level the lower arch to open deep bites, prevents spaces from opening 6-7 when closing other spaces, and leads to a better overall result with the teeth all aligned and occluding properly. So, to answer your question, I bond 7’s regularly. If I have to place a band on a 6 I will remove the band when I’ve completed treatment and place an elastic chain 7-7, being sure to skip 2-3 links of chain 5-7 so that there’s very gentle pressure pulling the 7 mesially. Too much pressure will rotate the 7 but very gentle pressure will minimize that. I check the patient back every 2 weeks until the band spaces are closed, then remove the braces completely. Band spaces in kids will usually drift closed on their own after removing the braces so this is usually not necessary for kids but this is almost always necessary for adults as their band spaces seem to rarely drift closed on their own after removing braces. I hope that helps!
thanks Dr, may i ask one more Q what is a good timing to bond 7 also? other than closing band space, bonding 7 during retraction is good for anchorage also. should we bond 7 in as early as alignment-levelling phase or start from working phase?
I bond 7’s at the bonding appt when I bond everything else. I do not engage the 7’s with the .014 NiTi wire, though. I wait to engage 7’s with the .016 NiTi wire because the .014 is too flexible and will pop out of the 7’s and you’ll have a lot of emergency appointments. If you wait to bond 7‘s until the space closing stage, they won’t be aligned and you’ll have to drop back to a lighter wire to align them before you can engage them with a wire that’s rigid enough to close space. For that reason, I just bond them when I bond everything else at the bonding appointment.
Doctor wat to do if the crown height is small compared to the band height
Seat the band on the crown like I show in the video. The band will slide below the level of the gums but it shouldn’t hurt the patient because the gum tissue attaches to the tooth’s root surface below the base of the crown. I hope that makes sense. Feel free to Google a pic of a tooth in profile and it should make sense once you see where the gum tissue attaches to the tooth.
How to tell my orthodontist that my band might be too small because the band can't go all the way my tooth and she told me to put it back myself everytime it falls 😭
Do you use molar bands on everyone?
