    • Correct. He damaged his right eye in a fight several years back and never regained vision. Not sure how he passed the medical (Bisping could fake it, Mag cannot). It could be due to the location of the fight; rules in Abu Dhabi may be more lenient/allow fighter to sign waiver, as his left eye seems to serve him very well.

Either Volk has Islam’s number like he claims and beats him OR Islam wasn’t lying about the hydration thing taking some of his power and strength and Volk is going to come in expecting Islam to be weaker and get himself choked out in the first or second. I’m not too worried about Volks cardio because he’s always in great shape and I don’t think he would’ve taken this fight if there was a chance he would gas out in the last rounds but you never know.

  • Islam and Khabib were known for their discretion when it came to discussing their gameplans. They frequently adopted the stance of "It doesn't matter who the opponent is," which has led to the perception that they might not tailor their strategies to their opponents. What's your take on this: do you believe it's a strategic approach to build anticipation for their fights, or do they genuinely prioritize their own strengths over the opponent's weaknesses? Share your thoughts, folks.

    @supaderrick3502@supaderrick35026 ай бұрын
    • They prioritize their strengths for sure. They’re typically one dimensional, but very dominant with their strengths (since the rule sets practically cater to them), so sharpen their own swords vs looking for the weaknesses in the opponent’s armor.

    • Islam (just like Khabib) fights to his strengths: Islam is very good at avoiding strikes, excellent counter-striker plus kicks, and ground game: take downs, grappling, wrestling, submissions.

      @FlowerGirl8@FlowerGirl86 ай бұрын
    • I think they definitely both tailor their strategies to their opponent, they just can't talk about it beforehand for obvious reasons. However I do think that tailoring their strategies always stays in line with prioritising their strengths, they just adopt different strategies to open up their strengths. That's why I don't like this fight as much as the first time, without as much time to tailor his strategy to Islam, I believe Volk will be more likely to fall back to just using his strengths the way he knows how, which might not be as effective as when he has time to understand how we will implement his strengths
