Five people, including a seven-year-old girl, died while trying to cross the English Channel in the early hours of Tuesday, French officials have said.
Authorities said the victims were trying to get to the UK on an overloaded boat carrying 112 migrants.
Several search-and-rescue operations are under way to find survivors.

My best friend, who served this country faithfully developed Post Traumatic Stress as a result of his duties and hanged himself. As sad as this is, to put into perspective this many people die EVERY DAY in UK traffic accidents and no one cares. These are foreign victims who died in foreign waters and we wring our hands in guilt and shame as we read the headlines.
