Taking a first look in Bugatti's secret workshop, alongside the legendary Type 35, sits the brand new Bolide - the name meaning a rocket of a racecar. The car is inspired by Bugatti's racing history and has been engineered for the ultimate in performance for a track only car, to the level of Formula 1 or LMP1.
The engine is the next generation of the 8.0l quad turbo W16 with 1,850hp, 1,850Nm and thanks to the exceptionally light weight that claims to be a mere 1,240kg, it's therefore capable of boasting the most insane acceleration figures. 0-100km/h in 2.2s, 0-200km/h in 4.4s, 0-300km/h in 7.4s, 0-400km/h in 12.1s and 0-500km/h in only 20.1s... that takes some time to actually interpret.
Visually it's exceptionally dramatic with negative space in the bodywork, shrink wrapped to the engine and tub, with the x-shapes for the layout of the rear, a shark fin and gigantic spoiler. Naturally all components are as light as possible, from exceptionally thin carbon panels to 3d printed titanium used everywhere possible for the ultimate power to weight ratio. The engine itself features a new configuration including the turbos set up for maximum power rather than the traditional stage configuration.

1,850hp at only 1,240kg. Now that's a freaking power to weight ratio. And with an insanely balanced power to torque ratio. I love the bodywork with the shark fin and the wing, and the other aero works. And that makes me wonder how much downforce it can produce in cornerings and the airflow within the bodywork in straights. Even the seats are low for lowering the center of gravity. And I love how car manufacturers are adapting to metal 3D printing.
the car is NEVER running at 1240kg. engine oil, engine cooling, gearbox oil and cooling will add up to like 1350kg at least even with minimum fuel.

Good thing they put the name on the underside of the rear spoiler so others can see who just flew past them. 😁 Nice presentation (and wonderful sound and design). I will never see one up close, so this was a nice tour of a masterpiece of engineering. 👍🏼😊

Some people "claim" they hate it. You know the type. The people who think hating popular things makes them seem more interesting and who always have to go against the grain just to be a contrarian. Those people hate on it just because it's a "Bugatti" rather than a Koenigsegg or some other random hypercar that no one's ever heard of 😂.
Every performance stats of this car is crazy especially 0 to 500kmph in 20 seconds, I didn't expect that number considering it's a track focused car. Bugatti have made a record breaking masterpiece.

I was thinking the same thing, but unfortunately a lot of the team's that said they were going to participate in hyperclass when it was re-introduced have had a hard time maintaining their promises, especially after the pandemic, and I don't thing buggatti is an exception here. I would absolutely LOVE to see buggatti participate in the superclass though! I just feel like it's very unlikely that they will

Every time you crash at those speeds/forces its pretty much a whole rebuild needed. With those bespoke parts and prices that would be as ruinous as Formula 1, maybe minus the constant engineering effort of upgrades throughout the season...

Haha!! I love the W16.4 on the centre spine - a nice little nod to the first gen Veyron there Shmee150: this car generates 2.5 tonnes of downforce. Chris Harris : Volkswagen IDR electric track car generates over a ton of downforce at 120-125 mph To be fair, maybe some of the technical know-how used to make the Bugatti Bolide was acquired from developing/driving of the IDR Those wheels somewhat remind me of what Mclaren did with the Speedtail. On a side note, it would be awesome if Bugatti used at least some of the Bolide's design strategies for the successor to the Chiron.

It's been a long time since I've seen a Beautiful Bugatti IMO. I never liked the Horseshoe grille on modern car styling (it fits the original era of origin almost a century ago, but looks eh on 20XX cars) but the Eb110 and this Bolide have it shrunken down to the point it's not intrusive, so the car's front looks so much better!
