As my daughter was growing up, when she said I can’t, I would say Can’t never did anything! Mom ask me to cut up a chicken & I said I can’t @ a little voice from behind me said, can’t never did anything! I cut up that chicken. Wasn’t pretty but it was cut up.

My Irish grandmother took my Irish father to visit a friend with a new bedspread, I believe it was handmade, or crocheted. First, they visited with a pot of tea. Meanwhile, my father explored, found the bedroom with the new bedspread, played in the fireplace, then jumped on the bed. It was a surprise. Lancelot's charades reminded me of my grandmother's story.
The dining room Christmas Tree is the perfect height and volume for the room. The lights were perfect as well....! The muted pastel colors of the bulbs are spot on...!

When I was learning to cook in the 1970s, my Southern mother showed me how to cut up a chicken. I haven't done it in decades but I still remember how.

I love the vlogs in the winter months because it is just family and those who have become family sharing your time together without guests. Don't get me wrong I love the summer months and guests as well but it's different when you can all let your hair down a little and just be with each other. Also, I swooned a little over Lancelot in his new jammies! So cute!!!!

The dining room is my favourite, gorgeous wallpaper I love it all.
A warning, that I learned from bitter experience! Keep any food (including that wrapped in Xmas paper) well out of doggy reach. They have super incredible noses and will detect any food, no matter how well you think it is wrapped - and be into it in super quick time. If that food is bad for dogs, then emergency doggy stomach pumps at 2am is really NOT what you want for Christmas! And they cost a fortune ☹
Dan had a You Tube channel about how to cook chef style. You can still see the things he taught in his house kitchen. He does a really good tutorial of how to cut up a chicken. It was called The French Kitchen, Carol in Nova Scotia

Amaury's efforts to contain the heating element will leave the remainder of the space looking less "industrial" while protecting the unit from dust and shavings. Tiny Lancelot is doing so well, adjusting to the giant space he lives in. Even the new dog bed seems huge!

Good evening from the beautiful SF Bay Area. Decorations are looking beautiful, everyone looks happy. Maybe it shows up more on video, but it's clear that the previous owners of the chairs kept them shoved up against the table as they all have a distinctive white line across the backs where the nap has been flattened. You'll need to raise the nap on them all. You can always find a KZhead video to learn how. I love velvet and work with it all the time but it can be a pain but glorious! Love to all. PS Marie is doing a wonderful job as head cook.

So magical! The decorating and Maties lovely chicken with the fruit sauce looked delightful. Such fun to see Sir Lancelot being himself, and such a cute one. Gerald sure can dance, that was great! The decorating and even checking out the new boiler system was truly amazing. It will be such a difference once finished and really it is so important. Thank goodness for backup of wood fireplaces/ wood stoves etc. But the furnaces will make such a difference. Thank you! Everything looks more elegant all the time!

I’m thrilled you changed the chairs!! Soooo much better. I don’t understand the bubble gum pink in the drapes but if that’s staying, then I’d suggest: Lower the chandelier a smidge and dress it with bubble gum pink shades. Change the tassels on the chairs to bubble gum pink Get rid of the old chairs plus the red strip ones too….which I assume you’re already planning on doing. Consider a rug for under the table to make the room warmer during cold months. Put a bubble gum pink lamp shade on the table lamp that was on the buffet. Get rid of the free standing ball lamp. Put 2 bubble gum pink tassels on the buffet doors. Over time, add bubble gum pink Christmas ornaments to the tree & garland. Once you’ve got that room pulled together, then tackle the red Asian room and absolutely get rid of the red drapes that look so obstructive and maybe opt for beautiful doors instead! Other than those suggestions, you’ve got the next few months to work on tidying up and getting the rooms cleared out of excessive furniture so it’s ready for guests in the Spring!!! Can’t wait My best to all. 💋
