  • Looks like the ole mustad was getting a workout today. I rig my slip bobber just like that but I add a bead under the bullet weight so it want be hammering on the knot. Get ready we got that cold front bout to push through they will be fired up. AWSOME video.

  • Great video Brandon. Nothing like minnow fishing to take us back to the fun days where it all started. I fish with jigs most of time just to put more fish in the boat but I always have more fun fishing with a minnow and bobber. Really enjoyed the video and thanks for posting.

  • Nice video, cool to see you go back to the basics. Pretty much every crappie fisherman can relate to a bobber and a minnow. Real nice fish around the 11 minute mark!

  • My bro I grew up bass fishing, but now my granddaughters 9 & 6 want to learn how to fish for crappie we call them specks in Fla, watched a few videos but not yet been told what size and style of hook your using. I hear them say a size but then they don’t take a few seconds to show the hook so I can see the style, size, color etc. also I have a negative against me from the start, no boat so am a bank, dock fisherman, parents don’t like them on a boat out in the lake lol. Anyway great video and am now a subscriber looking for your next video. Thanks for allowing me to ask a question even if it does not get answered.

  • I’m a jig man too Brandon but now and then when the water gets real cold I’ll go up the creek with a cane pole and minnows and work the tree tops. I love pulling those slabs up through the timber on a cane pole. Thanks for the video.

  • You always do very concise, thorough and informative videos and I appreciate it. When I do slip bobber fishing I recently switched to the Trout Magnet EZ slotted floats. They are super small and therefore easily pulled under by the crappie and you can quickly slip them on and off your line. Great video we appreciate it. 👍

  • This was another great video! I use a fluorocarbon leader with a double line uni knot to the hook because I occasionally break off with the palomar knot. I have been tying that same knot to the swivel. What is your opinion on this?

    @eclem3@eclem328 күн бұрын
  • slip bobbers let's you make longer casts at deeper spots. if you try to cast out 20 ft. to a 12 ft. depth with a standard fixed bobber usually the bait, sinker and bobber 'cart wheel' uncontrollably. if you know what i mean. good videos.

    • Its a powder that you put in the water to keep your minnows longer. I think it had some oxygen properties to it

  • I understand your point about clip on bobber but you are incorrect. You can clip the bobber at any depth you want. The problem is in casting and retrieving. If you don't have an extremely long rod you can't fish very deep. Some folks may not understand what you mean. If you are only fishing 3-5 feet deep any bobber at all will work. I use 12 for crappie rods with slip bobber but I can fish up to 10-12 feet deep by "pegging" the bobber and leaving the stop in one place. In summary, I loved the video, your explanation of technique was great.

  • This is not the simplest way of slip bobber fishing!!!! I fish a lot with slip bobbers, but your setup seems overly complicated, no reason to use a barrel swivel and leader (imo). Just two extra knots that (aren’t necessary) and could be a point of failure. Just simply use a split shot sinker and clamp it on the line about 12-15 inches above your hook. The sinker does the same thing as your swivel, keep the weight away from your hook and bait for a clean presentation.

    @Maddog165@Maddog1657 ай бұрын
    • Your way will work yes. But with my way if I ever get hung up the leader will break first because the 6lb leader will break before the 10lb main line. All I have to do is tie on a new leader and hook and back to fishing. You lose your whole rig, bobber included. I’ll stick to my way👍🏻. Thanks for watching!
