(I'm really close to getting monetized and I really need the subscribers!) Thank you to everyone who bothered to read this and watch my video :)
This video is about Shigeo, aka Mob and Reigen Arataka. The two main characters of Mob Psycho 100. This video is mostly about Reigen, but you can't have Reigen without Mob.

I want to also point out that when Toichiro tries to fight mob in the final arc he ultimately decides to retreat with his son. He decided that it was okay to run away which is exactly what Reigen told Mob in their first encounter with Claw, further cementing Reigen’s lessons as the thematic back bone of this incredible series.
That's a great point and another spot where Mob Psycho is an anti-power fantasy where running away is sometimes a better option than stubbornly forcing yourself into bad and risky situations.
@@KBWanimei was thinking that if Toichiro decided to sacrifice himself to save mob (im imagining he would likely die in the process or be in critical condition). It would not only cause the situation to not change, but also worsen. Him stopping mob would just be delaying the inevitable, since it doesnt stop the root problem of mob and shigeo denying each other. But it could also hurt his son mentally, and possibly make his son (cant remember his name so im calling him son) afraid or even subconsciously hate mob. So in my opinion, running away was ONE of the best option.
I think that's true. It's been shown how insanely powerful Mob is compared to everyone else. Toichiro would probably just die instantly. It's also kind of commenting on the redemption trope where so many characters sacrifice themselves for their redemption, but that's not really redeeming anything and he has to live for his son.
I cried at Reigen's birthday. Probably the first time he had close friends for a long time
Incredible ending to the series. Really beautiful!
I read a comment on Reigen's running. It stated that in Japan, pulling your shoes off indicates suicidal intentions. It showed that Reigen was willing to die to get through to Mob. That's how good of a person Reigen really is at his core; the best anyone should aim to be really.
When you can trust a con-man more than your barber. 😢
XD Reigen is just special.

Mob Psycho is honestly so underrated. Even though it's pretty popular, it's still underrated imo. It's just that good.
Definitely! I think it's like one of the best pieces of media ever made, most people aren't that extreme on it XD
I freaking love how from the perspective of some characters, Reigen is a master psychic that dealt with the entire scar division by himself (season 1 finale), defeated the most powerful warping psychic (season 2 finale), and could stop Mob when he went nuclear (season 3 finale) If the show wasn't called Mob Psycho, Reigen could perfectly be the main character in a comedy show about a con-man psychic getting involved in real pshychic organization shenanigans, and everyone freaking falls for it
Absolutely! He's such a great character! The best shows have multiple characters that could be a main character. It's amazing when the author puts that much effort into each character.
There's a spinoff manga REIGEN which I highly recommend reading
I have read it, and it's great!
He’s exactly like King from OPM
@@janterri3539 Reigen is better though
SELF DEFENSE RUSH: It's an attack were shouts self defense Incase it's not actually self defense.
Reigen teaches so many practical life lessons.
That's a great perspective. Mob Psycho 100 is pretty much an antithesis of typical shonen mangas/animes.
And even with its parody aspects, it's an incredible story. It does everything so perfectly!
My favourite part of MOB Psycho 100 is probably the lack of fight scenes, weirdly enough. Whenever there's supposed to be an actual fight, they just skip to whoever won because Shonen normally puts such a big emphasis on big fights, even though it's obvious who's going to win and how they're going to do it. Maybe that was the inspiration for One Punch Man.
@connordarvall8482 i think one punch man came in older than mp100, but i definitely agree with you mp100 is such a clever use of storytelling using tropes as its advantage Hopefully what I'm saying make sense lmao
Reigen wasn’t lying when he said he was the only reason they Mob was able to control his power
Reigen is a good mentor for Mob.
I absolutely agree. I’ve said it and I’ll keep saying it that’s the great thing about Reigen is that a lot of people feel like they’re bad at being a person but with the way that Reigen fails and how he still so charismatic anyway it tells you it’s OK to be bad at being a person because he doesn’t tell you to be good at being a person he said to be a good person that is all, kindness is the key to your charm. It’s a nice thought that you don’t have to succeed at being, you just have to be kind.
And she shows that pursuing being a good person is better than forcing yourself into a box of right and wrong. He fails sometimes but the way he becomes truly sorry and changes is what's so great about him.
Honestly, i knew how empactful this salt exorcist was from the start .
Lmao me too, literally the opening scene with Reigen I was thinking, "Alright this guy fucking rules."
Great essay here, obviously Reigen is the star child of One's Mob Psycho 100, but this video explains why from your perspective explained thoroughly
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
reigen is my comfort character
Something else is not wearing shoes symbolizes with suicided, and Reigen before trying to stop Mob in season 3 takes his shoes off to show that he'll risk his life for him.
Bro why is this channel so underrated bruh it actually kinda makes me mad
I'm getting there! Comments like these and likes and just watching helps me not be so underrated, so I really appreciate it :)
for real. Mob one of the greatest shows of all time for me. With Reigen the Goat.
Totally agree! One of the best ever! It's nearly perfect!
@@KBWanime pure facts. Also love your stuff😭🫶
Thank you! :)
14:33 This is what i needed to hear, many times i would ask myself if my decisions are right, but what matters more is that you do good things with genuine heart even if it turns out to be a mistake, even Levi from Aot said: "The only thing we're able to do is to believe we made the right decision" Because ultimately you can't change the future and most certainly you cannot change the world, so burden yourself by taking responsibility for everything that goes wrong
Intentions are very important! It's a good lesson Reigen teaches. He's very practical which is one of the best parts of him.
thank you, that's an awesome video about the best anime!
Thank you for watching it! I'm really glad you enjoyed it :) I've got a few more videos on Mob Psycho on the channel if you want to check them out!
Reigen is a catalyst to Mob, this series will suck without his intervention.
He is a huge part of the story and a wonderful character
If Saul Goodman and Joseph Joestar had a child
XD
Wow.. This vid made me want to rewatch Mob Psycho again!! Reigen's development is so underrated, I loved the video. Good job :)
I appreciate it! Thanks for watching! :)
Raigen is the rizz god
He absolutely is XD
Not even 1k views is a crime this is a great video keep it up and you'll go far :)
Thanks :) I was expecting it to do a little better after the first few days, but I figured out the problem and now it's gaining traction.
@@KBWanime I'm glad you deserve the views! I'm looking forward to seeing this channel grow :D u earned this sub
I appreciate it! I'll try to make it interesting! :)
I want to see an edit of that one scene in which reigen is at an interview with the public and somehow causes some kind of psychic tremor.
I love how season 3 is a perfect metaphor for the shadow and persona
Great video brother thank you for your hard work
I appreciate it! Thanks! :)
Sick analysis dude, that was awesome
Thank you! Glad you enjoyed it!
Awesome video! With this kind of production quality I was sure you'd have more like 50k subscribers, definitely worth a like and subscribe!
Thank you! Really appreciate that :) 50k subscribers would be awesome, but I'm going for 1k for now XD
I knew Reigen was the best, now I now why
That's why I made the video! :)

Thank you so much! I really appreciate that! It makes the work worth it :)
One of the themes of Mob Psycho is the acceptance of Normalcy. Japan is a nation of tradition and rich culture but also of conformity. Maybe conformity kills individuality to an extreme degree and Animes, being fiction, is a criticism to this. But was being a normal average person really bad? The story of every law abiding citizen can still be different even if they eat the same thing and shit the same thing. The most powerful psychic and the Luckiest conman might just have the same kind of life but different stories. And it comes down to how they live their life. Youth is essential as it's their formative years but growth is still available regardless of age as long as you can accept your flaws and apologize so you can do better. And most of the time you won't realize it by yourself. You may wait for another to reach your hands or allow yourself to be closer to them by extending your hands first.
Bro is king
i will miss reigen
I already do
@@KBWanime i just finished mob psyco s3 day before yesterday....now its my second favourite anime .master Reigen was so amazing.....my fav character 🥲
He is the best! Mob Psycho has also made it to my second favorite anime. It's absolutely incredible storytelling and is really fun to watch.
@@KBWanime yeah 🥲
I always highly recommend English speakers watch the show through the English dub, the dub cast is great but mainly because of Chris Niosi, he absolutely kills it and embodies the character
I've seen some clips and he does a great job, but "Oi, Mobu!" will always be iconic
