When you win a race on Dirt Rally it feels like a major accomplishment. The game is brutal. Gone are the Need for Speed racing style and arcade physics. This game will test your feather throttling, breaking and steering skills to the max.

How about rbr's ngp 6? To me dirt rally is just a Hard arcade, compared to what modded rbr is. Have played both games a lot, I'd say rbr is better in physics and aero (if with ngp6)

And even cheapest one, is none other than using controller :^) At first, it certainly hard, but once you realize you need to play the game as real sim than simcade, you'll get use to it and will hanlde it better.

@@iqbal610 i believe that is actually is the cheapest setup to get into simracing lol. If you think this looks like an expensive wheel I have news for you! They really aren't too expensive and even a bottom end wheel like this one or a logitech g920 (I own personally) will give you an amazing experience. Sure the wheel isn't belt driven but it still provides great ffb in a different way is all and you get a clutch and 6 speed box

@@iqbal610 it's a rebrand of a cheap Thrustmaster budget wheel. it's got no force feedback like midrange and above wheels, only "rubber bands" pushing it to center. it also only has around 360 degrees of turning whereas most other wheels have over 900 degrees. i believe brand new it costs around £80, very cheap for a racing wheel.

I bought a set of wrestling shoes for sim racing and I immediately returned them haha. With a logitech g920 it just didn't feel right after using socks/bare feet for months prior. You get the best pedal feel that way but I do recommend gloves as they will save your wheel from getting dirty and the extra wheel grip is 100% completely necessary when trying to throw a rally car down a tight trail at 80+ mph

Wow. Just wow. What a driver. SO MANY close calls, but NOT A SINGLE scratch or crash here, with the third person/chase camera (which is very difficult with the steering wheel), on such a narrow track. One of the best drivers I've ever seen in the video games.

1:37 - i believe that's actually a pretty fast way around that corner. as you went over that bump, having little to no traction, you carried good speed and where able to accelerate out relatively early(but it placed you bad for the next corner). another way would be a little wider before the bump, and using a late apex, even the gravel on the inside (sadly, i can't test that)

It's pretty common nowadays: Every COD players are officially Delta force and knows everything about weapons, same goes for Rally game, suddenly they all are rally specialists (pretty sure some would be able to say Ari Vattannen knows nothing to Rally)

That's such a freaky course; I don't blame you for easing up on the throttle through a lot of faster sections because of the narrow roads and plentiful crests. I love the turbo squeak on the first hairpin too

why so many negative comment about 3rd view? because 3rd view is not reliatic? the game is never relistic since we can't feel the g-force. The gforce help the driver feel the oversteer and understeer. we can feel oversteer / understeer easier with 3rd person view. So I think its fair enough to use 3rd person view since we can't feel the g-force.

3rd person rally is nothing compared to cockpit view. I play with all asists off except for automatic transmission (I dont play this so much that I could master this. All these world records they made will be real when they drive in true conditions
