The Sacramento Kings play the best brand of basketball this season....seriously.

  • This channel is my favourite mix of basketball analysis and straight comedy. I find myself laughing my ass off but also understanding the basic concepts behind a solid offence like the Kings'. Looking forward to your next vid as always!

  • Another fantastic mix it knowledge and humor. I love how the Kings are playing, this is the way basketball is at its most beautiful for my taste. Regarding the post game: it died when the illegal defence rule was (right fully) abolished. It would be great if you could make a deep dive on the impact of illegal defence, how is prevented proper team defence and allowed iso ball, especially in the post. I'm an oldhead that really enjoyed the 90s and early 00s but feel this is a dirty secret people keep forgetting about. Also, the game was so slow during that era.

    @maartenvz@maartenvz2 ай бұрын
    • excellent point! Yeah, I love that era as well. The Kings were actually one of my favourite teams when they had C-Webb, Vlad, Peja, etc. I'm not a Kings fan, but always cheer for the small market teams if my Raptors aren't playing them. Kings got me feeling nostalgic. I actually am curious if they got rid of that rule, how do you think it would change today's game? I think it would actually cause MORE small ball. If you had one single non-shooter, I bet they put a shot blocker on him and just camp the paint, and live with someone shooting under 30% from 3. Maybe I'm not reading it right though

    • @@gooderofficialif you are on the weak side and above the free throw line, your defender has to stay with you and can not help/double. So you can easily draw the shot blocker out of the paint. If you watch the Utah Jazz in the 97 or 98 finals you can see they would camp 3 guys this way so it was literally 2 on 2 on offense. In the modern day it would also lead to a lot more post up isos. This video shows it really well: kzhead.info/sun/jbmif9qbe3h6aps/bejne.htmlfeature=shared

  • When people tell me the NBA doesn't play defense I point them to videos like this and ask how the fuck you defend this. If anyone can figure out how to effectively scheme against a modern NBA offense they'd have a job in the league tomorrow.

      @gooderofficial@gooderofficial2 ай бұрын
    • for real, the old NBA you'd have a post up big surrounded by a point guard that couldn't shoot, a power forward that also couldnt shoot and if you were lucky your two and three could hit two threes a game, of course the defense was elite lol

    • Euro ball has stayed true to that style of game always. It's always been beautiful to watch. The individual skill of the NBA has always been better, but it's great when we get a combination of the two! I still would vouch for the set plays of Euroleague...nothing beats those

      @gooderofficial@gooderofficial2 ай бұрын
    • Sacramento just went back to their roots when they originally brought the coach and his Princeton offense to the NBA in 1998. It’s been a while so people forget that this was once how they played. Well, except their defense was on another level to now. It took another European big man to make it work again. Divac then and Sabonis now.

      @Khaab00@Khaab002 ай бұрын
    • @koukhang9020 to expand on the "roots" theory; I believe that when a team best embodies their cities/region's identity or roots is when they're at their championship best. On that note, I believe that De'aaron Fox is a combination of Bob Davies aka "Mr. Fastbreak" and Oscar Robertson, while Domas is a blend of Divac, Jerry Lucas and Boogie.
