Jiri is such a real dude. His english is coming a long so well, he rambles a bit but he's such an interesting character. Wish him nothing but the best, and love watching him fight.
Yeah, it's super tough to try and express complex things - life philosophy, your business vision etc. - without being next to fluent in a language. But he did good.
Great to see this interview. many people in Czech republic don't understand how many mma stars and legends are now close to Jiri. How popular is he worldwide how many popular youtuber are out of their mind seeing Jiri fighting. I live just 25 miles from Jiri's cabin and it is very interesting to watch czech fans and fans from UK, US. Totaly different worlds.

@@tehlurfry679 I think it's getting better and better, but still the majority of people don't understand it well and still have some prejudices. But like I said it's getting better and better, big reason for this is Jiří himself. My opinion.
@@tehlurfry679 MMA is pretty big. Not the number 1 sport, but Oktagon MMA has been working hard for years and plans to fill a football stadium this summer. But I think regular people seem more interested in watching Jiri than the whole UFC.

@@alisoyupak2730 Well the American Budweiser was founded by guy that visited Czech Republic and tasted Czech Budweiser and when he came back to the US he wanted to replicate the beer but only thing he could replicate was the name .... and they are still in dispute over the name till this day. Beer was named after a city where it was brewed ( Budweiss) now called České Budějovice Czech budweiser is sold in the US under the name of Czechvar.

I can count on my hand the number of truly "alive" people on this planet and Jiri is one of them. What an icon and possibly one of the most influential people in my life right now. I am thankful to be here watching his career unfold.
I totally get what you see, something about his aura and what he brings to a room is special. I just wish I could understand the Czech language and hear his thoughts come out naturally, even though his english is getting better each interview…

Great interview with the Bushido! Very well spoken individual. He's committed and remains following the path of mastery. In every interview he essentially retells the same responses. So I know he speaks of conviction and integrity. A man of virtue who fights not for monetary means, but legacy and the art of the craft. Very glad that he got the W on 300. Inching him closer back to the throne. With that said, I'm glad he's coming around to admitting the match with Alex was an early stoppage. Same what many of us have been saying. It was an early stoppage, and there is no denying it. Fighters lose their legs over big shots and other officials like Herb and Jason give them chances to fight back.
It was an early stoppage but Alex was in a better position where he could've done GNP and still would've ended the fight. Should they run that back ? Sure .

@@1est1yeah, the gnp was so vicious that Hill is fighting a month later. Poatan's power is very overrated. All you have to do is avoid the left hook and counter him with a punch to the chin and he's out

First fight against Pereira was indeed early stoppage for title fight ,sure maybe it would make no difference but it was still early stoppage for such a huge fight lets run it back
Let's run it back at 301 Brazil. UFC cmon, then if Poatan wins, he can measure his power with others, but give Jiri second run for that stoppage.

Jiri is such a nice bloke and very noble and honest. He's almost too nice because when Poatan was trying to smash his skull I didn't like it, I felt really sorry for him. Then for him to admit the ref was right after we all protested shows the character of the guy. Nobody in the UFC is as Samurai as Jiri. Hope he always wins.

I like Jiri but let's be honest after watching him fight Rakic there's no way he should be fighting Alex next let alone on two weeks notice. If he does he's only gonna get slept a lot quicker than the first time. He was fighting recklessly and his chin was up there to be hit all day, Rakic did land some good shots imagine instead of Rakis it's Alex landing those shots it's night night.
I hope he brings up Jiri's fight with the parking garage vending machine. I just want to hear Bisping pronounce it "garriage" lol

Temporarily unconscious = TKO. That was a good stoppage right on point. He wasn't even defending himself. We see people getting TKO'd on their feet and people are fine with it. How crazy is that
I agree, but looking at the fight several times, each and every times there is a part of me that’s feeling he could’ve let it a little longer cause it didn’t seemed Jiri was really out. But hey, I have no doubt Alex could do it again in a cleaner manner, just think Jiri is an animal and I would have been fine if ref waited more.

He was defending.After he got dropped by the hook he immediatle shots an instinctive takedown. That is intelligently defending although he was rocked and did not have the strentgth to finish it and fell after the elbow strikes but it was too soon to be called.Maybe one or two clean shots and you call it. But those who know Jiri , hes been in the game for a long time and although hes style is not a grappler he does have some great sweeps , very explossive bridge sweeps and Alex inexperience on the ground compared to Jiri could get himself reversed potentially. Alex probably still wins the fight but the stoppage early, Pereira still deserves credit for the win. I would love to see a rematch.

You know the funny thing? Both Jiri and Bobby Green went out twice and suffered the same amount of unanswered blows to the head. The difference? The way that they fell. Green landed spread out and Jiri on his knees. And the truly massive difference? One was being hit by a LW and another was mounted by the hardest hitter in UFC. Jiri had already passed out twice when the ref called it. The G&P that Hill took would look silly close to what would have happened to Jiri with Pereira fully mounted
Next time Jiri fights Alex, If he can bring out a shaolin monk or something along the lines to stand with/behind him at the face off..it will be so epic

Changing tune saying early stoippage is so funny when he already said he was out.
he explained multiple times that yes he was out and at that time, the stoppage was good from the point of the referee. But he also proved many times that he's able to regain consciousness quickly and come back so there was a chance the fight would continue. And maybe he wouldn't come back. What's so hard to understand about this that people have to constantly keep bringing this up.

@@JeromeLee-wf8ws the Russian is indeed fighting the Russian lol I am just pointing out the fact that; as a fan, I would like to see Alex vs Pav before Alex vs Tom. Either fighter wins, its huge for either man, and for the UFC. Plus I would like to see Pereira vs a mainly striking HW before setting up the Aspinal fight. Makes more sense to me because we can all see Pereiras prospects as a HW, let him build his resume in the weightclass, and give the fans a banger. For Pav, it gives him a chance to reinsert himself in the division with a win over a huge name. Either way it has all of the story and talent to give the fans great fights and make the promotion a lot of money. No matter who wins a hypothetical Pav vs Pereira fight, there is money and history to be made for the fighters and the company
