I have been a professional makeup artist since 2012, working for companies like Sophora, Laura Mercier, Dr. Dennis Gross, and Burberry Beauty. I’ve worked backstage at New York fashion week and specialized in bridal makeup for the past six years. I am an actor, singer, and comedian That has performed in the theater, and off-Broadway for 15 years! You probably know me from my "Working at Sephora" and "Shopping at Mac" series!   • I love love love how you talk about how things will look on mature skin. Listen, I learned makeup in the 80s, ok? We all know that I looked like a neon rainbow leaped on my face and rolled around. Then I went without anything beyond lipstick and mascara because life. Now I'm so intrigued by how gorgeous makeup is, I'm getting back to building a makeup kit, but I ain't got perfect 20-year-old skin anymore. Your videos are SO helpful for curating a kit that works for me now, and for instructions on how to achieve looks. Love you!

    • Same. I’m 54 and look pretty good but I would like more of the looks that are out now. I wouldn’t even know where to start with the serious contouring. I’ve been afraid to go to Sephora or Nordstrom to have someone show me because I was afraid they would not be able to transfer their amazing skills to mature face. Johnny has given me courage to go. I hope I find a clone of him when I go

    • Only product i like for them is the pillow talk lipstick and liner but I would have to wear a liner. Flawless filter...not really into glowy primer. The airbrush setting spray stings my skin.

    • My theory is they (Jessup) are Private Label producers and sell to other brands like Morphy that are basically glorified resellers and ofc have higher prices.That's why the same quality but lower price.

  • Hi Johnny. Thank you so much for making these videos. You have made me fall in love with makeup after finding your channel 1 week ago. Your videos are funny, clever, informative and inviting. You had said in one of your videos that you started working with makeup because you were so broken with severe depression that you had to heal from the outside in 😢. It is how I feel 100%. I also suffer from severe depression but now I’ve started to learn how to lift myself up and heal also from the outside in because of your amazing and heartfelt content. I do have one question I hope you’ll be able to answer. In a video from about a year or so ago you made a 35 minute video demonstrating how to put on makeup and save money using only drug store makeup. I’d like to know your opinion on the COLOURPOP Pretty Fresh hyaluronic hydrating foundation vs the e.l.f. Halo Glow Liquid Filter? Which is better for for skin that is dry, textured from cystic acne scars, fine lines, enlarged pores and dryness with slightly oily nose? I’m 38. Thank you .

  • I'm so addicted to your vids, I have Rosacea and just moisturizers can often cause me to break out like crazy. Any recommendations on products to help control my dragon scale? and maybe some that can offer cover-up help without exacerbating the problem? I take a daily medicine to help, but things such as sunshine{i've yet to find an spf that doesn't break me out}/saturday night out/stress can throw me over and make my face look like the side of a dead fish

  • I have a question about brushes in general and you showed several sets. Do you have an opinion or thought of synthetic bristles vs natural hair? I have some Sephora brushes that are Goat, Rabbit (it think) and I have had them for years and love them, never had any issue with it being animal hair and they still work great. All brushes I have purchased in last 6 or so years have been synthetic and I like them but they don’t seem to hold up as well. I would love your opinion or a video with your opinions.   • I was at Trader Joe's today and found a pumpkin enzyme face mask that may just be a dupe to the Peter Thomas Roth similar mask. Haven't seen the price but I'm pretty sure it won't be higher or equal to PTR price. It's smaller and not sure if ingredients are the same.

  • On the L’ORÉAL age perfect, did you use a setting powder? I have older skin and I think I didn’t use it correctly, It got a bit cakey on me. But left alone it felt oily and I didn’t think it would last. I need further help on how you made it look flawless. 😬

    • I love the Age Perfect. I just do my skincare routine, then put it on with my fingers right after my moisturizer. I blend it in a lot, like applying moisturizer. Because it’s so light and dewy, it doesn’t have a lot of staying power. I tried powder afterward, but hated to lose the glow, so sometimes you do just have to reapply a bit later in the day.

  • We used Jessop beauty brushes while I was studying and they were amazing I was disappointed when I washed them for the first time and a lot of the blending brushes came out frayed... I was so gutted... It happened to most of the girls in class... They were ok but I was so sad that happened... It's not the same brush sets that you showed

  • Yes I worked at a factory and we made 1 pair of jeans and labeled them for Walmart at like 22$ and JCPenney had another name and they were 75$ legit blew my mind ! Same with my husband they made salt for winter roads and some bags were labeled one thing and like 8$ the other one was something else labeled and was 25$ and they are exactly the same! My husband was the manager and made it and put it in the bags it's crazy that's is even legal good old USA BS ! So yes I trust ya

  • Honestly jessup brushes are better than morphe mine are 6 years old I wash them all the time and there still great! I paid 16$ for 6 brushes
