Khabib didn't miss weight twice he only missed once at it was against ebal tajilo by half a pound. Because he broke his ribs In that training camp and couldn't cut the weight properly.
True that….
I don’t understand how people say he had real struggle with Al. Khabib looked like he had fun in there. He doesn’t really committed with the takedowns Al had a wrestling stand the entire fight and it opens up his striking practice. Literally practicing his jab

@@1armedwolf2003 yes. but for years people kept mentioning the fight as if it was close fight or tough one. it wasn't... it looked like a tough training session for khabib
I felt that Al was kind of letting or being okay with being constantly jabbed in the face because it meant Khabib was content standing where he had some chance of winning.
I think khabib go easy on AI because he did get full camp.. its a gesture of mercy by khabib i guess..

Khabib was the most skilled fighter the UFC had ever seen. Jon Jones barely won against Reyes, meaning they had similar skill. However, nobody was even close to Khabib skillwise.
@@greengoblin9567 your on drugs
Khabib beat Justin without using the fence, and all of his fights prior to the ufc were either open mat or in a boxing ring… and he still dominated people with his wrestling and grappling. It’s a great narrative to pretend he needed the fence but it’s just not true. He used the fence because it made for easier takedowns, but that’s very different than needing the fence. And his coach said immediately after he fought Al that Khabib purposefully stopped pushing hard for takedowns in the mid to later rounds because he wanted to showcase his striking… which he did, as he pieces up Al with his jab. Khabib was a chain wrestler, so his takedowns often come from the second or third attempt, which will happen open late if they are in that position, but often happen against the fence because space is limited. And he’s not a kick-boxer, but he always threw leg kicks and kicks to the torso to mix in with his striking.
He pieced Barboza and Justin with some of those kicks, but people are blind.
Cheal is a POS. If he studied Khabib's style soooo extensively, then why didn't he use it to better his own?... I know why,, cause Chale🗑. I'm so happy he gone finally.
@@thedreadedkraken3944 after poirier lost to Khabib, you’ll notice he copied that style that beat him, and now he’s nigh unbeatable.
Gaethje has no jiu jitsu lmao
@@Zton-yn4kc Exactly! Those who can't copy/assimilate get pummeled/mauled lolz
People just focus on Khabib's grappling, but don't forget this too: In Khabib's whole career, he was never dropped a single time. And he fought some damn good strikers -- Conor, Barboza, Poirier, Gaethje, etc. He dropped Conor, who was considered at the time the best striker in the sport by myself and many. That was totally unexpected, but showed the completeness of his game. I put the most dominant fighter ever as either Khabib or Mighty Mouse.
This is a good point. Round 3 against Connor he was just standing in front of Connor and trading full blows. Against Justin he was able to eat all those leg kicks and keep the pressure on. I think somebody like Islam who has the same level of wrestling as Khabib would lack the grit and ruggedness that Khabib had in those fights and get dropped.
Jesus Christ, by the time Conor fought Khabib he was a drunk, too much Irish whisky in his stomach, and also he was very defensive overly concern with the take down, due to this he was not counter offensive like he used to. Conor had self doubt at that point, the hungry Conor will beat Khabib for sure. This is not to say Khabib is not great, it's just striking beats grappling . Anyone who knows Conor from day 1 knows how heavy his foot was, no tip toeing, no concentration like he used to, this is due to the fact that he was too pre-occupied with the take down, i will say over plan, if he had just got in trying to make a name for himself and let himself go, he would do just fine, i say this because he could knock down Diaz. I call Khabib a size bully kinda like a weight bully but not exactly it lol, he is not in the right weight, why didn't he moved up? while Conor moved up and won? Khabib is a strange fellow, he is naturally bigger and stronger for the lightweight and yet if he moves up he became smaller lol. Most of his dominance comes not so much from superior skill but from superior power and strength, also due to his discipline and training, i am not hating Khabib nor am i Conor fan, but that is the truth. If Khabib moves up weight and cannot do the things he used to do that means it is not a skill but rather a power, because skill works even on stronger guys, that's why it's skill. Khabib never fought in lightweight because it was a weight and an era full of strikers, if Khabib meet his match in terms of size and strength i don't think he will be able to do what he called mauling.
@@jugg9140Conor was clearly a weight bully in all the fights he won in feather weight , and striking doesn't beat wrestling don't know what drunk logic you used to justify that

The thing is there are no written sets of rules or criteria for the GOAT status. It’s like individual opinion each has their own points. If you need more title defences, more fights, more than one division then he’s not on your goat list. People that consider he’s one of the GOAT because of the dominant how he made top fighters like they forgot how to fight and from the look of all his fights he would’ve done the same thing to everyone if he continues to fight or moves up to 170 except maybe Usman. Poirier also a big lightweight controlled him no problem. But that’s just my opinion
Plenty of welterweights would give him problems. He's never faced a wrestler his own size. Colby beats him.
Tysons method is numbers… he refers on one of his podcasts that Mayweather is the goat of boxing because he was 50-0, he repeatedly says it over and over because even to him it’s mind boggling that Floyd never lost a fight in his professional career Now I’m not really the smartest of men but going off Mikes formula I guess that puts Khabib up there 🤷♂️ If ya disagree with that formula please don’t shoot the messenger, go and take it up with Mike, in person 😏👍🏻

@@truecrimejungle I'd say he'll take Colby and Burns, it won't be easy but they're not a big WW, it's 60/40 for me. Leon would be the easiest without high level grappling. Khamzat would be the hardest considering high level grappling and the guy's huge. Remember when Gaethje said no one below 170 is beating Khabib and he just had training camp with Usman. I'm not saying he beats Usman but i believe even against Usman it's 50/50. Khabib ain't gonna have a knockdown on Usman but could definitely sub him and that's exactly how Usman had his first L.
@@truecrimejungle khamzat got more chance than usman. Others I don’t think so. We’ll never got the chance to see that but we might get to see khamzat take on top wrestlers in 170. If khamzat can do it, i think khabib can do it too. Can’t wait to see that guy fight
khabib's first fight in a cage was in the UFC. The big commentary in his debut is how the cage would be a disadvantage for him! Go re-watch his debut.
I remember when people trying to hate on Khabib said, "he is only good because he has the cage there" not knowing his history. Then those same people will complain they wasn't in a cage so they shouldn't count 😂

The secret to beat Khabib is known to everybody, but has been executed by none. If the best fighters in the world know your strategy and how to stop it, but everyone failed to stop you, you must be the GOAT.
It's just a shame he retired so early, if he had continued it most probably would have retired unquestionably the GOAT but as of now he isn't even in the conversation.

@@jasonanderson1730Usman would get destroyed by Khabib. GSP would beat Khabib though.
Conor's living in denial. He also refused to give Dustin his due for both times even though he clearly got his ass kicked. And the criticism about Khabib not throwing kicks is irrelevant. The goal of a fight is to win, and he did that, in dominant fashion. There's no reason for a fighter to arbitrarily change his style if his bread and butter works. Khabib's opponents weren't able to stop his offense even though they knew exactly what he wanted to do. Being "dynamic" isn't a prerequisite for being a great fighter.
True, that's just a stupid point to brought up to pad their argument. Just an arbitrary reason to downplay someone's achievement. If your goal is to use every limb at your arsenal atleast once, then you're NOT fighting, you're training. If a fighter could win a fight with only a headbutt, either he's a great fighter or his opponents sucked. So either Khabib is a GREAT fighter or Conor sucked ass.

And yet his performances ( on the few occasions he had them, on the handful ) cannot even compare or hold a candle to the output, i.e. the time, the training and the preparation it took for him to prepare for as good as he performed... it's real easy to dismiss that as your so easily willing to dismiss someone you think isn't great. Never seeing the work behind it. In fact if you were to take both Conor and Khabib's level of training on the whole, the entire output. And I'm talking about everything from the point that they began this road as a calling. With confidence, I can say that Conor's ( and I would even say many others ) would fall incredibly short.
One of the 🐐s and arguably the best LW of all time. Wish we could have got to see more. 🦅
Definitely the greatest LW of all time. No one else compares. Not Penn, Henderson, etc.
Prime penn beats khabib
@@anon2427 😂
@@anon2427 lmao.
Absolutely, and it applies to all disciplines. Liver punch right leg kick with different beginnings and or different endings works very well when mastered
I would have liked to see Khabib at WW. Because we would see him in the clinch mixing up, strike defense. I still he would have been very good, but we will never know. I Imagine like Kamuru b4 he learned to box,but Khabib is a Hard worker. He is not a weight bully but like other greats he always wanted every advantage to be at his peak ( Like Floyd and Jon) He never liked short notice fights.
U failed to mention Connor did not defend a title once.
Khabib should've tweeted - he doesn't wrestle. He doesn't wrestle at all.
"oh so you're a wrestler Now!" - Nate Diaz
Can I make a wild guess that the well respected fighter was Cory Sandhagen😂
That's a VERY good guess my friend.
BJ Penn?
I pictured Tito Ortiz 🤣
Khabib, will tell you that Iaquinta was a very careful fight for him even too careful. Prior to fight with Justin he said "they use it know as my weak point, but it wasn't". He tried to get that belt and don't get caught. He literally used Iaquinta as training session for his jab that he landed in a minute like 20 times. His coach basically begged him to take him down. Cause he knew he could and he knew he wanted to play more.
I don’t think khabib showed all his weapons before retiring. I think it’s likely he’s better than what we’ve seen from him
I can't understand how a knockout is meant to be better that submitting. Anyone can get a lucky punch, happens all the time. No-one gets a lucky sub, you have to be technically better. Khabib was great, never lost a round, dominanted everyone he went against, won all his fights. He doesn't have to go up weight classes, why should he? 155 Goat for sure. He mauled Conored, played with him so by Conor's logic he must be dog shit then if that was only good.
Lets be realistic, conor has flashbacks from the mauling khabib gave him
It was more painful then snapping his leg 🦵
😂😂😂😂
Eh, 50% chance he was blackout drunk for that one
Has theres ever been a fight so hyped that was so one-sided? Nope.
lol yall act like ground and pound scaring anybody. he's taken more damage is stand up fights
Can we just say his style was great for the art overall, because no one could stop him doing what he wants to do in there or defeat him.... Khabib is probably the greatest because he did what he wanted to do, no flaws on the record in the ufc is a feat in itself, although prime Tony would've been that weird test his style needed to see......and when you lose the man you love that brought you to where you are with the timings of all what occurred, you do exactly what Khabib did, and in turn now his father's legacy is as strong as his...... No flaws.... Simplified...
Prime Tony wouldn't have done much to Khabib. He almost got beaten by Pettis. Khabib's pressure and strenght is too much for Tony and Tony is also very sloppy. It would have been interesting, but very one sided.
I have that "Call a Name " song on a CD now. I listen to that every morning before work. Thank you Chael!
Didn’t Khabib take Justin down away from the fence in round 2?
“I fear not the man who has practiced 10,000 kicks once, but I fear the man who has practiced one kick 10,000 times.” - Lee
Not only did Conor get beat by Kahbib, he got beat twice in a row by a guy Kahbib beat. Lolz.
i think your missing point of the video....but thats ok...enjoy your evening
Yup I wrestled a long time and when I started getting good was when I focused on having a couple really good moves to combo together vs working on a bunch of super technical stuff.
KHABIB 🦅 🦅 🦅 MMA KING FOR EVER I DON'T THINK SOME ONE COME LIKE HIM IN SPORT FOR YEARS
Yeah too bad he’s a quitter
@@AzureSky_Music quitter? No. Winner. Most dominant. Accomplished. You’re delusional. Always someone trying to cut down greats. Always the guy.
I get the less is more argument, and I know Jon is a POS, but he's arguably the greatest fighter we've seen and he beats people in all kinds of different ways. Hell, ask his wife.
😂🤣
Conor’s saltiness blinds his basic fight biz acumen. That was a foolish statement from him. Here is a basic rule of thumb: always bring up those who beat your ass, and those you beat. Either you got beat by a beast, or beat a beast. Its both ethically and strategically sound. It strengthens your resume.
"Less is more" is the smartest thing that I had ever heard from Chael. I could not agree more. That statement stays true to other areas in our life & not just in combat sport.
great advice for any life. "Less is More!" Thank you Uncle Chael!
I’m a Conor fan, but I cannot support him on this one…..
As much as I would like to talk shit about Conor. He had a good run at 145 albeit many of his wins were against fighters who had not reaxhed or were past their prime. Since he has been at 155 he had mixed results. Wrestlers were to powerful for him and his power was lacking.
I agree whole heartedly. I wouldn’t even call his time at 155 mixed results. He is 1-3 in LW lol.
Yup he shined in 145... outside it he´s struggling bad
He Didn't have mixed results. He is a failure at 155. The only reason he won the belt because eddie can't take shittalks.
Wrestlers n strikers both are too much for conor lmao in lw
@@radialomer5705 wtf? Did you see his fight against Eddie He dominated him him effortlessly
This is one of my favorite videos you've done in a while. That "don't get hit" dance was beautiful lol. 😆 As usual your points are great as well.
The music playing during that ad plug was epic
I think the way Khabib confirms he is the GOAT is if comes back and beats Usman, but I doubt we’ll ever see that
It would add to it but putting a stamp to greatness is really showing that you beat everyone in your weight class and protected your throne many times. DJ, Jon Jones, Aldo , GSP
Khabib doesn't care about you thinking he is the GOAT. If you listen to his opinion on it he doesn't think anyone is the GOAT. He thinks there are many he is just one of them. He says it's impossible for it to be one person. This is what people don't get about Khabib. He done what he set out and wanted to do, he doesn't give a fuck what you think now, just like he didn't care when you hated on him through his career.
@@lukemurray4950 Bruh you’re cursing at someone for giving their opinion lmfao, I don’t think Khabib if you’re in here choking on his bawls

Conor fought most of his career at 145, then went up 2 weight classes. Who does that?! He walked around at that time at 170, when other guys in the 170 walk around at 200+. Khabib never took a ride to move up
this was something that i struggled with through my brown belt in BJJ. i knew too much and I had to work on simplifying and going back to the basics.
Deep down, Conor downfall started when he put his hand in the Lion’s den. He should not have gone too far with Khabib! His trash talk backbited him for his rest of the life.
Khabib had the only knockdown in their fight. And they say connor is a great striker lol
If you think he's not a great striker then you're casual
Well as the ancient Greek philosophers used to say: Quality cannot be derived from quantity. It's true that after spending many years studying one principle, everyone comes to the same philosophical truths.
Chael is quite possibly THE BEST instigator i have ever seen, he is stirring the pot behind the scenes and i love it
Khabib had a decent teep and would often pressure with flying knees to get people to the fence. He also had decent hands by the end of his career. Not incredibly dynamic, but he still was more dynamic than some think.
The flying kness i definitely remember, yes, quite explosive.
His submission game is on point too. Khabib was really hard to trap, or impossible as he's never been trapped and submitted. He literally gets on top of you, never worries about you BJJ, and beats you senseless or submits you as he's done later in his career. His cardio and pressure, no one weaponized pressure more than Khabib.
Gsp p4p most well rounded fighter, jon jones p4p most naturally talented fighter, and khabib p4p most dominant fighter...these are facts!
Awsome as always. Right on point
Khabib did a spinning back kick on Al I, two I think, also led with his left.
I genuinely laughed out loud when chael said al iaquinta a fight where khabib got 6 takedowns outta 15 attempts, I really thought he was gonna say gleison tibau the fight where khabib got none outta 13 and tibau actually took him down
Im a sad lord because it's not official spent like 75$ did some research and 😔
Fight was good ..but that hype those heartbeats during match and that crazy aftermath .. And the hatred between those two Press conference Man can we see that type of rivalry again...
Yup! I agree with you! You make some really good points!
Khabib is GOAT in UFC. I like McGregor as a fighter he is definitely a entertaining chap but his prime has sank away in the Irish seas. Khabib dominated him like all the other men he fought. Khabib mauls his oppenants or takes them to the deepest depth of the ocean and drowns them.
Big disagree. Retired too early, only defended like 3 times, level of competition doesn’t hold up with others in the GOAT conversation, and missed weight.
@@Jamesfrancosdog and didn't move to ww and fight good opponents like Usman Colby
Anderson silva is the greatest MMA fighter ever PERIOD! Beat the best fighters and did it easily and did it in 2 weight classes. Not to mention was dangerous on feet and ground.

I think the PEDs discredits him though. Not saying he wasn't great though.
Growth hormones and PEDs
Aside from the two times he was humiliatingly destroyed by uncle Chael. The very fact he managed to walk, much less fight again, after surviving a half hour locked in a cage with the bad guy is amazing.
I came to a similar conclusion about khabib. This video just re assured what I already thought. He is still a beast. People can always study your tactics.
My dad coached my high school wrestling team and taught them as freshmen the head and arm throw from the opposite side everyone taught and a stand up: best freshmen team. Then as kids progressed through the years, they mastered a few basic leg attacks, rides and escapes and were the best high school team in the area. Less is more.
Ironic. I was just thinking: if Chael's commentary were an alcohol, it would be Scotch.
Underatted comment 😂😂 but I agree dude
Fair point. For whatever reason, he screams gin to me, lol.
Old fashioned 🥃
No more egregious than Khabib calling Aldo a businessman to be fair; in fact I think Conor has more of a point.

Sometimes I can’t stand Chael, sometimes I love him! Love this video!!!
Where do you figure the more dominant strikers (stylebender, Anderson etc.) fit into the equation when discussing less is more?
I ultimately agree with chael BUT there are some important details I think he missed that make the discussion more nuanced. Rhonda rousey is a good example of a fighter who had a perfect game plan that was similar to khabib. She was a master grappler and everyone knew her game plan was to armbar you, then she switched to striking and her game plan was ruined. Khabib improved his striking game throughout his career so why did he get better and rhonda didn't? I think it all has to do with how these different styles and techniques work with the individual fighter's game plan. Khabib used his striking to threaten a takedown, at any moment a jab or combo could turn into a takedown so it worked well. Whereas rhonda completely abandoned her grappling to use her striking. GSP IMO is still the most complete MMA fighter we have ever seen because he incorporated all of these different styles and techniques very well into his fight game, at any time he could easily chain a combo into a wrestling combo or stand right back up and keep going with a chain of different combos. Ultimately you don't need to know all the different martial arts but you do need to organize all the different techniques into something you can use as a chain of combos so your opponent never quite knows what you will do even if they know your game plan.
