  • Greece a paradise of 80% mountains, and laying on 4 tectonic eaerthplates coming together in Greece. The African plate, European plate, Asian plate and the 4th plate crushed inbetween. This makes Greece a mountain paradise and a geographical, geological and coastline paradise with the extremes of mountains all the way till the sea like no nation in the Mediterranean. Greece has double the coastline from any other nation after Greece in the Mediterranean spanning 16.000km. And as said. With the crazy geography of Greece, the 80% mountains, the geology and the 16.000 km of coastline, Greece's coastlines are megadiverse and can be in near infinite ways, in any colors, with mountains or without. When we just particularly look at just the islands since this video is about Islands only, Greece has 6000 islands each unique and range in the most extreme way like no other. *Caretta Caretta* - You have caretta caretta islands like Zakynthos with crazy beaches like Navagio, *Virgin forested* - you have virgin forested islands like Skopelos with crazy beaches like Chovolo, Ekatopenintari, *from very green* - You have extremely green islands like Corfu with its UNESCO town Kerkyra, Thassos, Skopelos and so on *to Geological paradises* - All the way to geological paradises like Milos which boasts every color of stones, sands and so on. There are even mines on Milos that have ALL colors of the rainbow and noone knows *To islands called a small continent* - You have islands that are called the small continent like Crete which has 5 big mountain ranges snow capped in winter and spring, 1050km coastline, 9000 years of civilization, rivers, lakes like Kournas, the only natural palmforests in Europe like Vai, Preveli and so on. To 5000 caves, to 400 gorges and to everything inbetween. To the longest gorge in Europe (Samaria). The island was home to mini hippo's, mini elephants, mini other mega fauna *to other geological craziness* - To the largest pumice islands in the world like Gyali with crazy geologies. Or Tinos rock formations, and so on *to an arc of volcano's and volcanic islands* - To a whole arc of volcano's and volcanic islands like Santorini (the largest sea caldera on earth), to Nissyros, to Methana. The crazy thing is that if you go from Kos (known as the birthplace of Hippocrates) as a day trip to Nissyros(a volcano) and then Gyali (Pumice island) you get in to 3 completely different worlds all in a single day. And these islands are literally next to eachother. It shows how crazy Greek islands truly are *to large and complettely unknown nature paradise islands* - to completely unknown but large islands like Evia which is a paradise of it's own spanning 175km, and is one of the few islands accessible by bridge from the mainland. Evia is exceptionally green, full with honey economy, truffles, and crazy bahama islets groups like Lichadonisia. to crazy lakes. to wild untouched coastlines like around Dirfi mountain in the most unique ways. *to small deserts* - To islands that have small deserts like on Limnos island which in itself is completely unknown with unique landscapes *To medieval islands* - To medieval islands like Rhodes famous for being the Capital of the knights of Saint Jogn, and also UNESCO. but also is the island of the Sun God Helios full with (like any Greek island) it's own ancient local history. Rhodes has it's own Acropolis like Lindos. But also other many big ancient sites like Kamiros, etc. and so on and so on and so on. There are endless islands not mentioned, that are famous for it's own things, it's own architectures it's own natural beauties. Like Symi for being the Sponge island and it's own gorgeous unique architecture, or Kastelorizo famous for it's incredible Blue grotto, and so on. The list is nearly endless. You can travel just on the Greek islands your entire life and be marveled every single time. *Another secret to Greece's coastline that makes it unparalleled* And there is another secret to Greece's coastline. When you are on the beach of Spain, Portugal, much of Italy and many countries in the Mediterranean, what happens when you look out on the sea? Nothing. You will only see sea till the horizons. Check it by going to google maps or Google earth and see for yourself. The horizon distance is 37.5km as the earth is round, and then anything still sticking out may still be viewable further out depending if you are lucky. But beyond 37km the chances of seeing anything gets quickly less and less. *But the kicker is that, when you are in Greece on almost ANY part of the coast, you will see a kaleidoscope of layers of mountains, islands, landscapes from both mainland as well as islands till the horizon.* This is one of Greece's biggest secrets that makes even a sunset walk in Greece just completely breathtaking like nowhere else. Greece truly is a heaven. And not just a island paradise, but it's mainland rivals that of all it's islands with it's again 80% mountains, wildly diverse landscapes and geography and nature. There are endless things to name really. But if someone travels 1-2 months in Greece, does a random 1-2 islands from the Ionian islands group, then 1 month traveling in mainland Greece randomly, and then 1-2 islands from the Cycladic islands group alone you will have experienced so many different paradises. Anyone who has traveled in Greece like that, or multiple times to mainland and different islands, and also different seasons knows exactly what I speak of.

  • Santorini and Zakynthos are the real jewels of the lot...so different, yet so alike in many ways, except for the white wash buildings along the cliffs facing the Caldera. Zakynthos is special in its own way, and i totally adore it!😊

  • The northern side of cyprus is not turkish. It is occupied by turkish troops since 1974. You should get your facts straight because this is a sensitive matter to many people who have lost their loved ones, or their homes during that time. It is something recognized by global community, except for turkey
