I spent a few very happy summers on the Greek islands of Santorini, Corfu, Ios, Paros, and Mykonos. They were all heaven on earth to me and the people couldn’t have been nicer. I was single and childless then but have two daughters now. I can’t wait to return to retrace my steps and see it all again through their eyes. Thanks for stirring up great memories. 🇬🇷
What brought you there and why did you leave?
I was transfixed by Greek mythology as a child, movies by Ray Harryhausen that were set in Greece, and further fell in love with it through other movies like Shirley, Valentine, and Summer Lovers. Most places disappoint in one way or another when you actually get there, but Greece was everything I imagined and more. At the time, I only left because I ran out of money or I would probably still be there. When I came back, I vowed to return every year or two, but of course, and alas, life always has other plans.

How was Paros compared to Corfu and Santorini? For this year I have dilemma on Naxos, Paros or Milos.
@@Travel_With_Gro Paros was a lot quieter with less tourists. Corfu is the biggest of the three at 226 square miles. Santorini is the smallest. (29 SM) and Paros is 74 SM. I don't know if things have changes since I was there. The first time was about 25 years ago and the last was about 20. But back then, it was considered the place to go to get some peace and quiet after too much time on the "party islands". I haven't been to Naxos or Milos so I can't weigh in on them. Sorry. I was in Crete one month ago and actually I was impressed by the nature and the hospitality of the cretans, actually after I was on Rhodes I never wanted to come Back, but Chania and Agios Nikolaos are awesome places to stay

I went to kos in 2020. It was by far the most beautiful and culture rich place I’ve been to. Highly recommend and also getting a car to travel around the island

I visited (albeit a WAY to short visit) Corfu back in October of 2019…it was like walking in a movie or a painting or a photo! INCREDIBLY beautiful island. I hope to visit as many of the other islands I can before I’m REALLY too old to fully enjoy them! 😍❤️🥰

There's no place like Crete.. we were for our honeymoon there and .. it's not only that the island is amazing.. but also the food .. oh man .. I gained 7 kg in 9 days 😅 totally worthed it

I agree with most of what is said…l believe that the Greeks do 2 things v well. Firstly,their beautiful rustic buildings in natural stone,Secondly ,their exquisite food,though very different l believe that the French do both very well indeed too,can’t think of anywhere else globally that match these 2 wonderful cultures. Ps one more thing,they are both strong willed to go on strike and not yield .😀 Thanks for a brilliant video

I have always been fond of Greece - but I missed 2 things -> restored forested areas as it was back in ancient times. Greece should also really rebuild some of the ruins - for example I would to love see a restored Acropolis (as it looked like around the 5th century BC) in its full glory!
They don't want to add new stones to the original one..
