1:56 "If it had ham in it.." Gino : May God forgive you, cause I will not.
😅😅
It would be delicious with ham.
Gino is like a study of emotions. 2:00 - shock 2:05 - disbelief 2:07 - amusement Comes up with a perfect response. Chef's kiss!
@2:08 Discombobulated
It is so hilarious because you can see the stunned emotion in Gino brewing at the absurdity of the comments
2:05 is actually where he's mentally translating that sentence for the glory
I love how everyone in the background is also dying of laughter 🤣
Camera crew fighting for their lives 🤣
And BOOM, 2 people down on camera.
I admit, even after seeing so many of these segments, I was laughing pretty hard myself. :)
People often forget watching these shows just how many are behind the camera. Sound people, lighting, producers, makeup, etc.
Thats always been a staple of british daytime/saturday morning television. And we are great at it.
I like how he casually says: "I'm glad it's you standing there..."
Bro, I've seen this multiple times and I didn't realize. He knew what was coming 🤣
Underrated line 😂
Hahahahah
I'm glad it's you standing that out. He's saying
I don’t get it…
Had a rough day - felt exactly how Gino did. So came back to this. Feel better now. Good day, people!
Have a nice Day. Tomorrow.. 🙂 Lol. This message should work for a couple of months.. Similar to "FREE BEER TOMORROW"
Holly is so ignorant
You know you have made an absolute comback when even the camera crew starts laughing.
Holly: If it had ham in it, it's closer to a British carbonara. Gino: *So you have chosen death.*
Requiscat in Pace
Not only Gino it's can be acceptable for all Italians
what the fuck is british carbonara?! 😂
@@lukasbaumgartner1371 mac and cheese , but they put ham on it
Pretty women get all the breaks. He'd be digging my eyes out with that fork saying you know with a little salt this would be closer to caviar.
The way Philip is struggling between laughing and choking still cracks me after all these years…
*Choking
@@jumpinjojo thanks man. Sorry for my poor English 🙏
He’s a nonce
He's just thinking of kids ^^
@@MyDomenico1985just think he was grooming a kid at this time
2:03 the death stare is what gets me everytime
It's treason then...
*tarantella stops*
...and then he follows it up with a savage side eye at 2:44
"What the hell is to you..." always makes me laugh. Gino is so sincere in what he does.
Perfect comedic timing, the punch line has been dropped mercilessly.
It’s wonderful
And a meme was born 😂
i am Italian and this joke makes me laugh heartily even in English
Might be the funniest cooking segment I've seen... when the other guy realizes that it's gonna go bad....😂😂
What meme?
Not really a meme
@@Edwxrd69def a meme
Common Italian saying. Another one, translated, is "If my uncle had three balls, he would have been a pinball machine.".
Non l'avevo mai sentito come detto, notevole.😂
2:04 - You can see the moment Gino came up with the joke. He looks down and smirks. The cogs in his head have clicked into place. Then he pauses, rehearses it in his head to make sure he’ll say it smoothly in English, then unleashes it at the perfect timing.
Nice analysis
This ain't a joke it's a saying. Greeks use it and I guess italians as well. Just like if my grandma had balls she would be my grandpa. Or if my grandma had wheels she would be a skate.
@@xristosgousios2181 haha, it's not aunty had bollocks line. It's my aunty is a slapper line. Bike meaning girl that sleeps around a lot. My grandma has slept with that many people if she had wheels she'd be a bike. It's a faux pas on his behalf because he's basically just called his Grandma a slapper on live tv by accident. That's what's funny. A common saying isn't something that makes people choke with laughter. It's the faux pas that's making people laugh.
@@upon-fe2720 Erm, no. He's saying that if his grandma had wheels she would have been a bike. If you put ham in this it would be a carbonara, not whatever it currently is. As it is, his grandma is still his grandma and the dish is still the dish. You're reaching.
It’s not a joke, it’s an Italian colloquialism, but you can see that he did take a few seconds to translate it from Italian to English in his head and double check to see if it made sense.
He will never live that down, he is a legend
Legend haha wow.
I remember watching this when it happened live. 😂 I can’t believe it’s 11 years ago this year!! 😳🤯
Damn this guy is what we want in this place world...
@@sreecharannv Come to Rome, we are all almost the same satyrycally speaking.
right! crazy
I was too young but it is still so funny now
Yooo any recollection of your feelings when you watched it live?!!! Did ya bust out laughed or were just as appalled? Lol
The whole crew laughing gets me every single time. 🤣
His face and that pause. They’re lucky to be alive 😂
I love how straightforward he is. He is right though 😅😂🤣
I love that he just says unequivocally “it’s wrong”. No ifs, no buts
The look on his face when she said “if you put ham in it”. He wanted to say it sooner, but the bloke in the earpiece kept repeating “don’t do it Gino”
He wanted to say it sooner but he had to take a few seconds to translate the joke into English
@@scusachannel1682 verissimo, I second that.
😂😂😂😂😂
The fact that he made a translated saying works in the first place is already genius, and being unintentionally funny on top of that, what a piece of work this guy is
0:45 this bit is so underratedly hilarious as well
We often use this expression in Italy to describe a paradox, expecially in Rome... 😆 Very funny... Sometimes we use the "grandfather" and replace the bike with a wheelbarrow...
Very humourous to us Brits as to refer to someone, particularly Female as a "Bike" creates something of a Sexual Innuendo.
@@johno6453 a good hybridized punch line.
@@johno6453 It has the same connotation in Italian, especially in Rome.
Exactly, it is generally used to stop the "but, iffers" of this world when any given matter is pretty obvious within its context and they are just acting like pains in the arse by chucking in improbable alternatives
It's a common expression in Spain and most of Latin America as well. "Si mi abuela tuviera ruedas seria bicicleta"
She know exactly what to say to trigger Gino love it!
2:11 I can't stop replaying this xD
I love how he didn’t even wait to hear what it would have been like. The moment ham was involved, he snapped.
Hands down one of the best come backs I've ever heard!
Its not a comeback tho, just a saying
@@cowflick1180 chill the fuck out dude and have a Merry Christmas.
The best part is the 2 second pause after he says it where everyone is thinking about what he just said before losing it.
He expressed the thought of every Italian watching
I just loved the way Holly say "stop it!". So adorable.
I think I fell in love with Holly after watching a few Gino clips, there’s just something about her…
@@silversailer I agree. Me too
Didn't she say " Stupid" ?
@@alessandrom7181 did she? Oh...I didn't notice it. Perhaps in British context, it might be some term of endearment. I'm not British, so I am just speculating here
Holly is absolute perfection
Gino dacampo is one of those people that is just naturally funny and i believe this clip got him on the job on celebrity juice qnd he was great on that.
I love that Gino says you can put ham in it at home and fires a withering glance… I love absolutely every single thing about this.
I love how he take a little pause to process the madness that’s coming out from holly’s mouth. You can literally see the battle between the angel and devil that’s in Gino’s head, he’s deciding whether to let it slide or violence. He chose violence 😮
I think the pause was him trying to translate the commonly used Italian phrase into it’s literal English
She chose violence. She left him no choice.
This video will literally never get old. I'm going to run across it when I'm 80 and laugh my ass off
No matter how many times i watch this, it always cracks me up
2:07 he is trying to find the right way to translate "carriola" in english, good job with bike
Pensavo esattamente la stessa cosa.
Yeah he smiled already
I saw this clip for more then 100 times and its still makes me laugh as if I saw it for the first time ❤ so brilliant this
She’s so beautiful!
One of the oldest Italian jokes!!! Used for decades Every time someone starts to make excuses using “ if “… Another typical one is “ if my grandpa has 3 balls he would have been a pinball.
We say "if my aunt had mustaches she would have been my uncle" in TR.
In germany we use "if the dog hadn't been faster, i would be your father now."
Or just plain old "if my granny had balls she'd be my granda" or "if Eve had balls, we'd all be gay".
Moravians have a similar saying - If you had fish up your arse, you wouldn't need a lake.
@@XenonbrothersLoL oh my god, this is savage
I used to work with an Italian guy years ago - his accent was JUST like Gino's it was HILARIOUS some of his sentences!
I knew many Italians during my time in Romania and Russia, and drove hundreds of transports to Italy, and I think nearly every Italian who knows English, sounds like this. I've only heard 2 or 3 female secretaries speaking English flawlessly.
This has me in years every time!!! 🤣🤣🤣 I am so glad I got to watch it live 👍
this guy has got so much passion when describing food; i love it
This has to be the most best quote This Morning has ever had. I actually had to take my asthma pump when I first saw this.
I will admit this is so funny, and it cheers me up from a bad day.
My family's version of this growing up was, "if my aunt had balls she'd be my uncle." But that wouldn't go over very well nowadays....
Because it can happen, oh no the joke has expired 😂😂😂
it would go extra well nowadays really!
i've seen this thousands of times and i never not laugh hilariously at ginos grandmother joke, pure comedic timing, pure reaction from the hosts, pure gold :) :) :)

I'm so glad these clips of a show I've never watched are preserved for my enjoyment in another country. XD
I don't think there will ever be a comeback like that ever again.
you can all but see the smoke coming out of his nose and ears as soon as the word "ham" is mentioned. never change Gino. :D
Once every few years I remember this and come back. Still makes me forget to breath
Love watching these guys. They work so good together
This, this makes me proud of being Italian 🇮🇹♥️

1:58 at this point he knew she was going to say something completely absurd.
oh no, oh noo
The delivery is so incredibly spot on it's incredible.
Never a dull moment when Gino's around
These three together are hilarious.
I just stumbled on this ... Gino is hilarious, and the lady is so cute!
Have always been working when this is on. Love holly and gino and phil. Know this is old but heard it was always fun to watch off people that werent in work and watching it.

Yeah he gave her a proper death stare lol
I cry every time I watch this

And in Italy we also say: "If my grandpa had 3 balls, he would have been a pinball!"
This is so funny, I like to watch it time and again when I want to have a good laugh.
One of my favourite videos on the internet
It just keeps on giving! You can see the cogwheels in Gino’s head turning and turning with a mix of bewilderment, scoff and the mere mention of ham, right up until he delivers the comeback of a century. 😂
Amazing! I always thought that was a Yiddish expression. To hear it from this Italian cutting up these Brits in laughter is delightful. My dad always said ''If my grandmother had wheels, she'd be a bus!''
That's because in British slang, a bike is a promiscuous woman, “the town bike (everybody rides her)”.
Very common expression in Spain as well
@@ef2718 It has the same connotation in Italian.
Fred Klein. It is an Italian say too. 😁☕🇮🇹
In Greece we say that she would be a skateboard.
We also say, If my grandfather had three balls he would have been a pinball.

This man is a legend.
Gino is so wonderfully wholesome.
I watch this video every day and i still lough at it
I already started laughing the moment his facial expression changed when Holly mentioned ham. He looked so appalled and offended. 😂😂😂
And rightly so. A chef presents a great dish, and the first thing out of the mouth of the taster is an implied need to add something.

After taking out the two hosts, Gino continued to take out the rest of the crew. Love how he doesn’t realise the carnage he’s just caused and keeps calm and carries on.
One of the best lines of all time…Gino.
The comedic timing and the passion he said that line with... oh man, I am alone in a room and laughing out loud.
This... this is his legacy. Generations will quote this moment in Mankind's history.
This is a very old saying in Greece and Italy. It was a good use of it tho
I love how the cohost said "oh noo..." like he knew she slipped you don't insult an Italian's family recipe by comparing it to Mac and Cheese.
