    • Not a common joke here, and unexpected stuff is really the crux of comedy. A lot of British humor is in the delivery though, and his delivery was about as perfect as it could be, very dry with a straight face and serious voice - which us brits love for some reason. Professional british comedians are generally excellent at timing and that unexpected dry delivery. Bob Mortimer & Lee Mack are excellent examples of that british timing and delivery which can be make things funny when they aren't even "jokes". As a contrast comedian Joe Lycett is more like "American style" comedy, his jokes are very much in the punchline normally. They still get laughs, but there is something about the very unexpected dry delivery that catches you off guard sometimes and makes things way more funny. Thanks for attending my ted talk
