That penalty save against Van Persie was kinda the turning point of his career. In the early games De Gea actually made alot of mistakes and did not look confident especially when dealing with crosses into the box. But after that game against Arsenal he really picked up and went on to become one of the best goalkeepers in the world.

For me he is the best man united goal kepper of all time. He may not have won a smuch as schmiecal or van der sar but he's been playing in a much worse united side and still consistently been there best player and saved them from embarrassment many times.
