  • Great idea as usual. One safety tip for those interested is to use a quilt makers glove when using a craft knife and ruler. For years I never used one but, I recently had to get a stitch or three to close a cut I got when the knife jumped over the ruler and tried to trim my thumb. I now use the guilters' glove and feel much more secure.

  • A t-square works great for cutting things, also. Have you ever showed your studio? We'd love to see it. A rotary cutter would work for the fabric and the box. Another question, how is you water bottle glue holder made? Is the cap glued to the bottom of the bottle?

    @barbarasnell6557@barbarasnell65574 жыл бұрын
    • I have pictures of my studio on Instagram :) Have not done a vid yet on it but it is on the idea list :) The water bottle holder is good for short crafting times. The glue will leak out the bottom if left upside down for extended periods of time ;) I Left it in there overnight and the cap became stuck in the glue that leaked out so I kept the cap in there to hold the glue bottle upside down. It work a bit for a while but eventually the glue leaked out. Its not foolproof but good for short projects when the glue gets low in the bottle :)

  • speaking of Enkidu .... Enkidu's name has been variously interpreted: as identical with the deity Enkimdu or meaning “lord of the reed marsh” or “Enki has created.” In the epic of Gilgamesh, Enkidu is a wild man created by the god Anu. After Gilgamesh defeats him, the two become friends (in some versions Enkidu becomes Gilgamesh's servant). Surprise!

  • You make everything look so easy. I really like this little cover. I love the music that you've added. You have to be the funniest crafter ever. My cheeks hurt from smiling...especially during the duct tape demo. I love it! Thank you for making a cold winter day much happier. I am wondering what the thing is that you keep your Fabri-Fix in? Is it a permanent spot to keep your glue from clogging? I've never seen anything like that. Thank you again for sharing a great idea.

    @maryshoemaker9113@maryshoemaker91134 жыл бұрын
    • Hi Mary! Thanks! :) Its just a water bottle cut in half, with washi tape added to cover the sharp end. I put my Fabrifix bottle in it upside down while working on a project when the glue gets low in the bottle. It helps keep the glue at the ready :) But for longer storage I take it out of the bottle since the glue will leak out at the bottom :)

    • You mean the upside down bottle? I keep it in a water bottle cut in half so the gglue stays near the bottom and at the ready. Its good for while you are crafting but don't store it in there long term. It always leaks out on me ;)

  • Hi there! I just subscribed to your channel and am really excited to get to crafting I just have one question for now and that is what tool are you using to ink the edges? I did check your amazon list first. I’m TRYING to use my Tim Holtz blending tool but it seems too flimsy. Thank you so much for your help!! 😊

    @ChristinaFurnerWebber@ChristinaFurnerWebber4 жыл бұрын
    • Hi Christina, if its not the Tim Holtz tool then it is either a paddle brush or a makeup sponge glued on to an empty spool of thread :)

    @ullazitabinder2091@ullazitabinder20914 жыл бұрын
    • Hi Ulla, yes it will work but you may get some wrinkling of the outer paper since it is a wet white glue. My best tip is to apply it thinly and evenly :)

    • Hi Holly, maybe a strong white glue like Art Glitter glue may suffice :) I have had good luck with it and fabric in most cases. :) Here is a link to see it: Art Glitter Glue small 2 oz bottle includes metal tip: amzn.to/2raZqqh So far the Fabrifix or Fabritac) seems to be the strongest I have found but other glues will work :)

    @studiorat1766@studiorat17664 жыл бұрын
    • LOL, sure! Its an ingenious flop ;) Its a water bottle cut in half with washi tape place over the sharp edge. Then I put my fabrifix upside down in the bottle so the glue is at the ready! The trouble is the glue leaks out a bit at the bottom. Its good for quick uses but do not store your bottle in there for long term or you will end up with a jelly blob at the bottom :)

  • Any suggestions for something other than tape to reinforce a spine? I like to run a zig-zag seam around the edge of my covers, and sewing over adhesive tape of any type does not agree with my sewing machine, at all! 😖🤣🤣🤣

    @jeanneblondewomanstamping9788@jeanneblondewomanstamping97884 жыл бұрын
    • Fabric will also work but I am guessing its the glue on the tape that may be a bother? The fabric could either be glued or possibly sewn down. I have not tried sewing it in place but it may work :) I have an inexpensive Brother machine, when the needle gets glue on it I clean it off with acetone. So far no worries but never know with other machines.

      @ThePaperOutpost@ThePaperOutpost4 жыл бұрын
    • The Paper Outpost Thanks. Yes, it’s the glue on the tape. I guess i’ll stick with gluing down fabric. Thank you so much for your reply. Really enjoying your channel. 🤗🤗🤗

    • Hi! I cut a water bottle in half, covered the sharp end with washi tape then place my Fabrifix upside down in the bottle so the glue would be at the ready. This is good for current projects when you need the glue to be at the ready but don't store the glue bottle upside down for longer periods as it leaks out ;)

I put the bottle in upside down and stick it into the cap. This only good for short bursts of time wile actively crafting. If left in there for a long time the glue will leak out. I am currently trying to build a better mousetrap for this ;)

  • I am enjoying watching you; I am however perplexed by your lack of using a ruler to measure, you just flip things over and seem to waste a little time… ?! I know it’s not a race, but surely it has to be easier and more precise than just lifting and ‘gue’stimating’! Also, isn’t it better to cover the front of the journal first so that all the salvage can be covered neatly inside? Just seems an odd and backwards way of doing something to me…I guess that’s what makes us all so individual and unique. Thank for sharing your videos with us. From an avid crafter in the U.K. ✂️📎✏️📏📕👍🏻
