Driver's License adds 20,000 mult Fortune Teller adds 148 mult Driver's license is considered the sellable joker.
It’s actually insane how much he overvalues flat mult jokers in the late game when he already has thousands of mult before the jokers trigger.
i read this comment and looked for it the next round in the video, the fortune teller he had added its 180ish mult or whatever when the mult count was at 117,514 already.. lmao

yeah this is what type A’s should be telling him. he rarely thinks about how adding mult before steel/bloodstone/blue legendary is anywhere from 2 to 2^5 times 1.5^4 as much in general which i get because the score flies by so fast. but instead type a’s shit their pants about moving blueprint at the exact right ante to do it
this and he just gets addicted to vagabond way after he’s run out of a use for the majority of tarot cards. there is absolutely no reason to blow $50 on rerolls for it.
in NL heuristics there is only plus mult and times mult. he knows nothing of order of scoring

@@Canadian_Princess they weren't talking about late game, they were talking about earlier in the run. NL was winning rounds quickly with vagabond which is bad because you get fewer tarot cards per round. NL could have moved the xmult to the left of the flat mult to score fewer points and be able to play more hands before winning, but didn't. Having xmult on the right is best for higher scores.
@@Canadian_Princess with high card hands, blueprinting vagabond yields more tarot cards, but scorewise it's probably best to copy whatever is the highest mult-multing joker (in this case, steel joker). for the flush five, the base mult is so high that the extra x2 triggers from triboulet means that he would want the order to be: (vagabond in any position), (blueprint + triboulet in any position), fortune teller, then driver's license and steel joker at the end. which _is_ how he ends up having it at the end, thankfully! once you get to the point where you have retriggers giving mult-multing effects on scored/held cards (glass cards, triboulet, baron, bloodstone, idol, etc.), flat mult jokers are essentially useless because they add the mult after you've already built up a ludicrous score. basically, flat mult jokers to the left, mult-multers to the right. jokers that affect the cards themselves don't matter _too_ much unless you have multiple of them (like lusty joker giving a heart card +3 mult, then bloodstone x1.5'ing it. lusty on the left, bloodstone on the right). it's all kinda in depth and complex!

NL watching the Fortune teller add 125 mult to his 10000 mult for a 1.25% score increase "wow I should get rid of drivers license!"

@@MrGuy__ So does all the other mult. He ended up with 168k, it was 10k when fortune teller was added and before the other mult multers. So again, a 1.25% increase in his score.
This was such a pain to watch... So much in this game and he still doesn't get how the order works...

For reference when at the end not knowing how close you were. 1.6e11 is 160billion or (160,000,000,000) you had at the end 8.4 billion (8,400,000,000) so you were roughly 5% of the way there.

No one believes is bad, NL just thinks the rest believes that because he refuses to sell it when he is in like ante 10 and everyone tells him he should sell it for something that adds score. In this run, it was eternal so obviously he couldn't sell it, but even if it wasn't eternal, he wouldn't have sold it. Its the same with fortune teller, for some reason he believes they are the Best jokers no matter the circunstances

I love this man and his content, and I think unusual decisions often make for more fun gameplay to watch, but my god him never learning that + mult jokers don't do anything compared to x mult jokers when your hand already gets you a ton of mult before the jokers have effect is actually turning me type A
Fortune teller becomes useless compared to all the multiple jokers since tiboulet prices before it. So you have flush five base mult times 2^5 which is bigger than the fortune teller, mean any multiple is better than fortune teller

Starting at ante 9, when NL was underwhelmed by the score his Flush Fives were getting, I started almost chanting "move the Blueprint, move the Blueprint". As of ante 11, he still hadn't moved it and I began to despair.
OK, he at least mentioned it wasn't providing any score during the ante 11 boss, that's something.
Removing 2 is mathematically better than adding 1 if your only goal is drawing a specific card. Take a deck with 10 Q of clubs and 10 other cards. Draw 1, you're at 50/50 to get your queen. Add another queen and your at 11/21, or 52%. Subtract two others and you're at 10/18, or 55%. Hell, removing ONE non-hit is very slightly better than adding. 11/21 = 52.2%, 10/19 = 52.6%. Hanged Man is even better than Death. 11/20 is 55% even, 10/18 is 55.6%. As far as deck consistency, Hanged Man is literally the best tarot.

So much pain. Worked out pretty well. I mean. Relatively speaking. But. It's kinda like finding a treasure chest full of diamonds. And then you take a diamond out and put it in your pocket. And you leave the rest there and think "boy howdy I didn't have any diamonds and now I have one!". It's true. Relatively speaking, compared to most days, this is a good outcome. But after walking away, the rest of them are gone forever. Diamond lad is happy. Onlookers can't believe what they've witnessed.
It was painful to see him sell sock and buskin instead of scholar. But it was even more painful when you see the legendary he gets afterwards...
Also the fact he had a tarot card print machine on ghost deck. He could have had a polychrome glass red stamp queen deck. He also kept putting purple stamps on his worthless cards instead of his queens which means he is using death on four's instead of queens

22:00 destroying cards makes it so future modifications to your deck are relatively more significant. Early game you want to take immolate, death, glass. If you halve the number of cards in your deck your tarot cards affect proportionally twice as much of the deck.

pretty sure you could have sold two jokers for hologram joker... you just actually move blueprint to duplicate the x2 for kings and queens. That is also helpful so it increases odds of it turning into the x2 or blueprint... so no im afraid you infact didnt know what you were cooking

ante 13 is no joke, but i cant help but feel so much more was possible if only dude would stop revolving the late game plan around adding +2 mult to a joker that adds +100 mult to a score that is already like +10k mult. you need retriggers and mult multers, you don't need to hinge the run around a fractional buff of a 1% increase

For all of the Type A chatters: I think NL doesn't really understand the order of score addition/multiplication, so that's why he thinks certain things will be much stronger than they are (for example, expecting a glass card to multiply the flat mult of a joker) and he expects other things to be much weaker than they truly are (such as a red seal on a card that triggers a mult multiplication)
What number was that at the end?
While type B thinking has become the status quo, I believe NL played this game extremely well. Obliterated orange stake like it was the Bluey discourse.

@@brendan51 because it literally doesn’t matter since he already knows he can get enough points to get through the entire early game just playing high card and he’s constantly getting enough tarot cards to ensure he unlocks flush five by the endgame, he doesn’t need regular flushes at any point

a good way to understand what "e" means is the number of zeros. So e11 would be 11 zeros, a billion is 9 so he wouldve needed 160 billion points. Its unfortunate sock n buskin didnt appear, that wouldve gotten him there for sure.
