Wouldn't it be nice if upon becoming a politician at what ever level, you forfeit any land assets and properties you own. And are forced to live in the "affordable housing" you promised thousands of people. Wouldn't it be nice if you were unable to benefit from any shares you previously owned. And therfore saw no benefit in allowing business to push profits over people. Wouldn't it be nice to have a group of leaders with no alternative motives who shared the burden of the policies they enact . This colleague is going to pick up lunch and asks Liz Truss, do you want anything? Truss says yes so the colleague comes back with a sandwich/meal thing. The cost was £6.99, say £7 the colleague says to Truss. Truss precedes to something like "£6,99? Oh I actually have the exact £6.99 for you." And proceeds to dole out the exact change including coppers and not a penny more to the apparently, quite suprised colleague. There you have it... Our Prime Minister, so generous as not to give a penny more to someone who goes out of their way to do them a favour. How many of us would say, ah, I'll give you the £7 to save you rolling around with my change and for your effort.

  • The people responsible are the Tories who voted Liz instead of Sunk. Shame of them, that color took precedence over the existence of the UK. The UK will tank the rest of the EU and the US with it. Sunak has brains and was the man of this time who could have taken the UK out of the quagmire it was in.

    • Sunak did not lose the candidacy because of his skin colour, he lost it because he’s an unpopular twat married to the daughter of a billionaire who sees poor people as beneath him. Whether or not he’d have been better than Truss is debatable, but don’t try to make this about race

    • At the time I thought Liz was the lesser of two evils but now it looks like that was Sunik, but neither of them are good people - they are Tories, ffs. Sunik is a millionaire married to a billionaire, he may not have got the UK into this mess but he still would have milked the working class to give to the middle class and the rich, as that is what they do. "Why did you sting me?" asked the frog of the scorpion "Now we'll both drown!" "I am a scorpion." came the answer "It is in my nature to sting you."

    • @@krashd At the time, I thought Rishi was the lesser of two evils. He was the Chancellor for a few years and has a sound grasp of economics, which is what we need right now in the current economic environment. As soon as I saw the summaries of their economic plans, I could immediately see that Rishi had a much better plan, and that Liz's plans were not very sensible. I was hoping for a Rishi win, as he at least seemed to know how to run the economy. Personally, I suspect that Liz used her tax cuts for the highest earners promise to buy her the votes that she needed to win the Tory leadership race. Essentially trading our economic wellbeing, in order to get herself into power.
