    • Because the majority of the public didn't elect her. When the prime minister resigns, the next PM is chosen by the party, not the public, and the PM is still a member of parliament. The Conservative party chooses leaders where at first MPs within the party vote in each round where each time the candidate with the least votes is eliminated until it's whittled down to two, at which point members of the party then vote between the two finalists

    • She wasn't cutting taxes for the people. She was cutting them for the wealthy only. The average person would have been £50 better off a year. Anyone earning over £150'000 would have been upto £55'000 better off. No one, not even many wealthy earners agreed to that. It caused a public outcry. She failed or refused to propose a windfall tax on our energy companies who made billions in profit during the pandemic and her decision damaged our economy so bad the Bank of England (independent of government) had to step in and bail out to the tune of 65 billion pounds. That debt will be passed down over time to the next generation. Evidence suggests they deliberately shorted the pound. Disaster economics always makes profit for those wealthy investors. Our pension funds have lost a percentage as a result. 30% in some cases as private shares were affected. Interest rates are threatening our mortgages after the BoE had no choice but to raise the rate. The pound only rose again after emergency plans were instigated by the BoE. Those losses even for a short time will not be recovered. We are still left with a £40 Billion gaping hole in public spending so our health care services/all public services will suffer at the worst time possible with cuts to funding. 7 Million people are waiting for serious operations cancer treatments etc right now. They put a price cap on energy charges but it is still way above what most families can afford to pay. That was another U turn after weeks of ignoring and refusing to install any price cap. And all the while this government have blamed Putin when it was a mess before the war and declining for the 12 years they have been in office. But don't worry. The Tory ministers gave themselves a pay rise last year. Whilst opting for a below inflation rise for nurses.. Is there any chance the US can invade and take our government out? We offer free cups of tea and biscuits.
