The first drill, bending knee and keep it tight to chest and elevate myself with the other leg, it seems to be good as the basic guard retention drill as well.

Kills my small toes to base on the mat and push off like that.
Sit Japanese style with your toes active, not flat. As you increase time there your toe mobility will improve

@@ArizonaMMJ it’s called Seiza but instead of pointing toes you tuck them under, have them active. Hurts at first but over time of doing it a bit helps. I broke a few of my toes multiple times kickboxing and this helped.
