Sick setup... finishing my ar here soon gonna slowly upgrade to make it my coyote gun to pair with my budget shotgun for the thickets
How does the 4K PRO compare to the LTV in terms of image quality?
Thanks for sharing!
Awesome dude. Was curious what you were shooting!
Very cool. Love the rifle.. I'll have to check out the barrel maker again. I can't spell their name. I know who they are though.. 😛 I'm looking at a 18 or 20 inch stainless bull barrel for hunting with an AR and free floating handguard for sure.. I never thought about the charging handle.. Most important to me is sights and trigger which how we interact the most with a rifle.. I may just go with a bolt gun though as it's probably faster and easier.. We shall see.. I'll for sure buy an AR soon though for home defense and hunting from time to time at the least.. I'm looking hard at Ruger"s American and some other rifles such as the Tikka , etc.. I'm looking at 556 or 223 and at .243. Here in Indiana it's really crowded.. I was at a farmer who had me kill his ground hogs on a huge farm with long shots at times and I either used a 22.250 Ruger Number 1 or a Remington 6mm varmint or old Remington in 243 and one day I used my Savage varmint in .223.. He came out and talked to me after I had shot a couple groundhog's and said he didn't hear me shoot. That made me realize that the 223 was much quieter and I'd probably make the farmers happier if it didn't sound like an artillery dual on their property I hunted.. 😛 Be safe and well sir and happy hunting.. South Central Indiana. USA Tim
Great video bud keep em coming !
Thank you!!!! Likewise! Love your videos!
I’m running the same tripod, scope and rifle platform/caliber. I love the combination, I do still hope to get a better ir to go along with the factory atn illuminator. I have a 20” fluted heavy barrel in 223 wylde that I’ve hand loaded some 73gr Hornady ELD match for. Very tight groups at 100yrds.
Sounds like a killer setup! I will tell you that I just ordered a new IR called a Coyote Cannon by Sniper Hog lights and if you can spend the extra cash on one you will wish you had never wasted time with that stock IR. Not cheap but in this game it seems you get what you pay for. Happy hunting!
I have the same scope. Upgraded to the 850 pro IR. In the back yard its great but when I went night hunting I couldn't see a thing past 50 yrds. Checked out that coyote cannon. If I decide to go that route I'll probably get the next size down since it takes the same battery thats in the ATN ir. Didn't see a big difference between the 2 in the video I watched comparing them. I just picked up the death grip tripod also
Can I ask how much this setup cost you not including the sling or tripod?
Thanks for sharing this video! Enjoyed watching.
Thanks for watching!!!!
@@OwnTheHunt No worries! Keep it up!
I’m in special regulations “rim fire only” I built a 22wmr AR with Agm rattler 35 also have a bolt bmag17wsm boyds taticool stock, sightmark wraith 4k paired with a coyote cannon 850ir … love the videos bro keep up the good work 🐺👊🏼
Damn dude you are setup right!!! Where are you from? Thank you for the support! Means a lot!
Right now I’m running a sightmark WRAITH 2-16x on a Remington 700 ADL youth model 243. The reason I’m running the youth model is because it’s hard to get my head close to the optic on a full size. I’m 6’1. I’m not small, my eye cup is just short.
I have a youth model ruger 7mm-08 and I love it!!!! Something to be said about a smaller more compact package! Happy hunting! Thank you for watching my videos!
@@OwnTheHunt no problem! Fixing to sight mine in and go hunt with it tonight!
Nice build bub!
I do a crap ton of Coyote hunting here in Maine . Don't have that many people that like to go hunting . I live in kennebeck county how about you. I am running thermal night vision night vision and I also use a bump helmet with PVS14 phosphorus Would love to hear backThe night vision and thermal are both ATN
That’s really awesome!!! We should exchange info and try to hunt together sometime!!! My email address is in my video description!
Do you have links for this set up ?
I was wondering what power your scope is as I am thinking of upgrading to the 4k pro, thank you
That one was a 3-14x which I much preferred over their 5-20x.
I've seen people mount their light under the barrel further forward. Does one give you more light than the other?
Not really more light but mounting them under the barrel is best. It prevents the OR light from reflecting off the smoke when you shoot.
I like that AR. Looks great but that crown barrel with surely have a hell of a flash at night.
I never noticed it to bad. I am using a different AR now in 6.5 grendel
I would suggest looking into pulsar or better thermal and a better tripod...bog pod is ok in your yard but sucks for hunting
Check out my latest video. I got a new tripod and a better IR light plus I have a nice thermal monocular.
@@OwnTheHunt send me a link to your latest video... not downing you... I'm an avid coyote hunter and replied from my personal experience
I love ar15 rifles!
what length barrel is on the rifle and what is the twist rate?
20” 1:8
Interesting build, debating on something similar. Maybe 204 would be better? Not sure honestly thoughts
Well I have since changed my rifle setup completely. I’m not running a 6.5 grendel AR by specialized dynamics and a pulsar thermal scope. I think 204 is a good round but I think 6mm ARC is all the buzz right now for predator hunting.
@@OwnTheHunt that would be great but WV requires 22 caliber and smaller for night hunting. So 22-250 is king here second to 204 as far as trajectory goes. I’m running a wraith 4K max and coyote cannon on a 16” gun I built for now. I used a buddies very expensive Pulsar unit and didn’t care for the shooting part with it loved his scanners tho. My only issue is high pressured areas the yotes won’t come closer than 3-400 so without the ability to dial we just watch them lol only complaint with nv unless there is a unit with ballistics solution?
Can you please add the link where you got your light please?
That one is from predator hunter outdoors. I no longer would recommend that light. I would go with a sniper hog lights coyote cannon or the 66lrx with turbo.
What Vmax? FB or BT? 52 Gr? How does that light compare to a sniper hog 66?
They are the 55grain vmax with the flat base.
Also, the cannon with the original OR bulb is very similar to the 66 using the new turbo IR bulb. But the cannon with the turbo is the holy grail!
@@OwnTheHunt I’m running a hand load 50 Gr Barnes VG at 2825fps. It’s an absolute anchor of a round. I have also ran the 60 Gr Vmax. Love it! Want to try the 53gr bc it’s a boat tail with higher BC
hows long barrel? gas block rifle length?
It’s a 20” barrel with a rifle length gas system. I am so happy with it!
How much did this cost you roughly? Looking to build my own
The rifle itself was around $1200 and the scope was $650 and the light was $200 you by no means need to build something quite as high end.
What barrel lenght/twist?
Is that a 18” barrel ?
It’s a 20”
Just curious if you are still using all this gear or have things changed a bit?!?!
Lol
@@OwnTheHuntwhy is that funny lol
@@evanlucas8734that comment was from my hunting partner and we have changed gear a lot since this video was made.
@@OwnTheHunt figured it was something along the lines of that , I’m trying to decide between the bog deathgrip aluminum vs carbon fiber , is there one you recommend more considering the 65$ price difference?
@@evanlucas8734 most definitely! Go check out my review of the Innorel carbon fiber tripod! It beats both of the bog options you mentioned!
Don’t you shoot with a mod?
A mod???
Best for you. I personally don't like the feel of the AR and don't go for hunting at night. To each their own.
Absolutely! I love bolt actions as well but I like the follow up shot capabilities of an AR.
Finished my Aero lower build and weighing options on the upper and barrel etc. Shoot Hornady exclusively in my other AR15 and my beloved Tikka Tactical. I hunt Eastern woods coyotes and that is a whole different game than the "easy open air" South Dakota hunting etc. How come you never see woodland coyote hunts on TV??? I know why: more difficult. Completely disagree with your assessment on a tripod being an absolute must. Come to KY: we will teach you how to hunt....
It’s ok to have different styles man it’s not a contest lol
