  • Look what happened to a world we now live in where people get offended so easily, everyone should be able to laugh at themselves. No one does a roast better than Don RIckles. Not a hateful bone in his body, so funny.

    @EarlofSuave308@EarlofSuave3089 жыл бұрын
    • EarlofSuave308 Not saying I never liked Rickles and it's always good when people get their yucks but I missed them here. Not because Rickles is an insult comic but because none of this is funny. Revisiting his stuff on KZhead, I think people yearn for an age when he said what they were thinking. I'd be nice to him if they ever wheeled him by on a gurney but he's celebrated because he's outlived the Rat Pack he was associated with and thankfully, he's lived a long life.

      @matthewstetson711@matthewstetson7119 жыл бұрын
    • +matt helm actually all of this is very funny to the people in that era. You wouldn't understand over half of his jokes because they were appropriate for the day and time and everyone there just "got it!" Simple as that, his humor is still looked at as a comedy from the old days, yet he's still here to perform it opposed to just watching them on youtube that is the point. We still have a great one from those days here with us performing in 2015. I hope he lasts another 10yrs and I get to see him live.

    • +Giggidygiggidy12 I'm from that era. Telling Nipsey the hotel needed cleaning or the stuff about Senator goldwater's failed Presidential Campaign and I wouldn't understand it? Don't try to mistify it. Either you like him or you don't. Some of his routines are funnier than others, this one isn't one of his best. And I hope he and his wife are around alot longer too.

  • I watch these old "roasts" and see all the familiar faces and hear those golden voices, and I think to myself, man, they were all like old friends or family members to me, in so many ways . Grandfathers and grandmothers, uncles, aunts, and distant cousins, etc. etc. . Watching these old videos, is similar to flipping through the pages of an old photo album. Moments are recalled, that I had almost completely forgotten. Sadly, like those in the old photo albums, most of them are gone now, the laughter has ended, their voices silenced, they've slipped away from us in what seems like, a blink of an eye, but..... how the memories remain .

What an honor to be roasted in such a way that means love to Evel and all that were caught in the crosshairs of Don’s love and genius. I was smiling and laughing and just loving this (had never seen this before) and then those endearing words and that lovely kiss at the end... I am crying as I type this.
