  • Many years ago I had an old Yamaha 125 trail bike with a 175cc barrel and head. The engine was ported and modified and the engine produced so much power I had trouble making the clutch bite. Its RPM was off the rev counter and on the road it would easily out drag bikes like the one above. It was stripped of everything to keep the weight down The engine was tuned from a 2 stroke tuning book and lots of work in my shed. :-) Two stroke engines can produce insane amounts of power.

  • My brother and i put a kx 80 in one of our bmx bikes when i was only ten, he was 16 at the time and already a qualified mechanic, my father amd grandpa owned a fabrication/mechanic shop so we grew up using the tools, this thing was so fast but it was a death trap, we completely snapped the frame in half taking it off jumps, shaving off all that frame weight made it a rocket 🚀 i still have no idea how we never gave my mom a heart attack, we also made a potato gun out of 3" stainless steel exaust tubing and welded it to a muffler as a combustion chamber, spark plug and all, we used to launch flaired stainless slugs about 2 miles into the air, we blew a hole clear through my dads shop 😂😂 this bike just reminded me of the good old days, the bike was so fast we had to make a wheelie bar out of half of a shopping cart. We used to terrorize the neighborhood because it had no muffler

  • Lots of odd comments on this video. It's interesting to see what a purpose-built 125 cc bike can do against what looks like a stock 1000 cc bike. But, about the reaction time of the stock bike rider... do people understand what happens if you pop out the clutch on that bike trying to beat a bike with drag bars on the back? The bike might be catapulted to the finish of the race, but the rider will still be at the starting line. Maybe he could have been faster, but he can't just launch like the drag bike. Still it looks to me like, if that's a quarter-mile track (which why wouldn't it be) the 125 did about 10 seconds, which is crazy.

Pretty common setup for local strips. They're racing against time, not really each other. You could get someone in a mobility scooter crossing the finish line first. How else can you have fun in different classes if there's a limited number of entrants in each class?

So we don't know if he was sleeping or he had a delay for bracket racing. If so, he had less than a one second delay. The 1000's out of the picture so by the time he comes back into the picture it looks worse than it is.
