1972 OTACO Bazooo 6x6 can we get it to run and drive again?

In this video we find an old 1972 OTACO Bazooo 6 wheeler with a 2 stroke engine that is stuck and hasn't run in years and see if we can get it to run and drive again. I can't say I know much about it but it's similar to an Argo 6x6
Want to add Greg Turnbo sent me a link on a restored one of these Bazooo's you can check it out here

  • I was able to find a VERY limited amount of documentation about this thing after some googling! What you have is an OTACO Bazooo. It is a VERY limited production product and theres only a couple dozen known to exist. It seems the traveler/scout paint on it was done after the fact to mimic an IH Scout. They were made in 1971 and '72, I couldnt find any production numbers but theres maybe a half-dozen of them I can find on the internet. The engine is a CCW (Canadian Curtis Wright ((yes, that Wright))), it was either a 240 or a 290cc. The OTACO brand changed hands a lot, hence the Bazoo only being made in '71 and '72. You are correct, it is supposed to be watertight and float like an Argo.

    • Yes i agree and the only reason i follow Bad Chad is just to see how bad he fouls up and makes up a fake reason he did something because his brain told him to . I was a teenager in the 50s and have already forgot more about the cars of that era than Chad will ever know . Love Brents work and knowing he will not just give up and walk off never caring if the watchers wanted to see the finish . If i laugh here it's for something funny like playing with that 6x6 not something done stupid like Bad Chad projects .

Called the sunshine city its home to many notable people . Its also just another 40 miles south of Bracebridge , home of yours truly . You now qualify as a Ottaco mechanic and probably own one of the last one in existance of there six wheeled things . I really enjoyed the video , LMAO all the way through , Well thats that Take care stay well Stuart in Ontario .........
