  • Joel didn't die in the haunted cottage his work tried to get him murdered by a grudge monster in. They were trying to have him die so they could cash in on his life insurance policy, but he just communicated and helped out a mysterious spirit. That's the kinda guy Joel is. He's a terrible worker, though.

  • I had almost the same situation with strange noises in the attic in a remote cabin. It turned out to be a dormouse and over the summer I could watch her babies grow up and explore the surrounding area. Most wholesome twist to a scary story.

  • Yeah the main issue is that you were trying to speak to him with english words, but once you switched to Japanese TheGrudge Sign Language it seems to have really eased his tensions and made him feel seen. We could all learn to be more accepting of our fellow The Grudge from this.
