Only 831 miles on a high end, custom rotisserie build! Roadster Shop chassis, GM crate motor and trans. All work done by professionals in their field. The end result is a very tasteful, dialed in, detailed car. I've spent the last 10 minutes trying to take it all in. I've said "wow" in my head a dozen times! It includes a thick folder of documentation.
EXTERIOR: The body was restored by one of the best shops in the area. It was stripped to a bare shell, put on a rotisserie and media blasted. The body is 100% rust free; every square inch is laser straight. Painted a stunning Royal Ruby Merlot metallic and a Sterling Gray metallic roof. Of course, it's polished like glass. If taken care of, this paint will look this good 20 years from now. All new smoked gray glass. The upper and lower tailgates were completely restored by a specialist. It was recurved, an anti-rattle plate was added, the hinge was upgraded with gas struts, new stainless cable guides and latches, new cables, and retractors. The chrome on the car was done by AIH Chrome to show standards. The stainless trim was sent to Vintage Vehicle where it was straightened and polished like new. Optional bumper guards, rocker trim, dual mirrors, door handle guards. It has Halogen headlights and LED taillights. Sitting pretty on Torque Thrust ll Custom Shop wheels. They are 18x8s in front 18x9.5s in the back and are wearing BFG G-Force performance tires.
INTERIOR: Wow, I'm sitting in the car, and it is as close to perfection as you can get. First of all, it is beautiful, first class. I feel I'm not dressed up enough! It was completely gutted media blasted inside, then lined with sound deadener. Completely updated AutoWire wiring harness and fuse box. The custom work was designed and built by Cassin Customizing. 2 tone gray leather throughout. Beautifully sculpted side panels. Four custom built bucket seats that are bolstered and upholstered in glove soft leather. A custom-made waterfall center console extends between the back seats. It is home to the stereo touchscreen, USB connectors, a/c vents, cup holders and a Lokar electric sport shifter with a bump shift. In the way back there is a custom compartment that conceals the battery and stereo equipment. The system includes double DIN touch screen, Rockford Fosgate 1000 watt amp, 10-inch subwoofer, four 6x9 speakers and two 5-inch speakers with tweeters. Down on the floor is a German square weave carpet, electric gas pedal and retractable seatbelts. On the ceiling is the chrome ribs, a suede headliner, and visors. LED interior lights throughout. The metal is painted as slick as the car, every piece of chrome is show quality. The dash area is beautiful with a modern set of gauges, working clock and Vintage Air electric controls. Beautiful steering wheel on a tilt column.
ENGINE COMPARTMENT: Right out of the crate, it's a GM Performance LS3 motor. It's 376 cubic inches making 480 hp. It has a GM engine controller, a TCI EZ TCM controller and ceramic coated ZL1 exhaust manifolds. In front is a complete Wagner accessory drive system with serpentine belt, billet pulleys, modern alternator, and power steering. PRC matched set of polished radiator core support, a/c condenser and radiator. It also includes a polished overflow tank, electric fans, hard hose with shrink clamps. Polished Wilwood power brakes. The engine bay is painted as slick as the car, new hinges, and latches.
TRUNK COMPARTMENT: Completely restored tailgates open and close easily. Inside is carpeted and upholstered beautifully including a custom-made compartment for stereo equipment and battery.
UNDERSIDE: The body was stripped to a bare shell and placed on a rotisserie. The underbody is restored like new; it is 100% rust free clean metal painted the same color as the body. The frame and components are powder coated Victory Gray and cleared. New Roadster Shop Spec chassis was rolled underneath this car to make it handle like a new car! In front it has Strange adjustable billet coilover shocks, Unisteer power rack and pinion and Wilwood Pro spindles. In back is a triangulated four link suspension with coilover adjustable shocks and tubular control arms. Baer drilled and slotted 11 inch discs at each wheel with 4 piston calipers. All stainless brake lines, custom e-brake. Stainless fuel tank within tank pump and stainless lines. Hand fabricated and polished stainless 3 inch exhaust with X-Pipe and Magnaflow mufflers.

  • This is not only a piece of history, but it is an excellent example of industrial art at its finest! Wonderful example of what muscle cars can be close your eyes and you right their in the drive inn restaurant of American Graffiti.

  • This Nomad and the ‘33 Buick Model 68 you previously sold are my absolute favorite, high quality custom restorations. Not only because of the show quality but because they were built to drive, not trailer queens. The only thing missing on this Nomad is cruise control for a nice relaxing trip (unless it’s hidden?). Thanks, Jay! 👍👍👍

  • Hey Jay, love the channel watch every video, double din/single din a 69 Camaro is a single din. late 80s and up are double din, strictly the size of the hole in the dash for the radio so that touchscreen fits in any car that has a double din. hope that helps have a great one.👍

  • Yesterday here in Sarasota on Fruitville Road I saw a 57 Nomad that was quite the sight. Its butt end was so jacked up it looked painful to drive. The geometry for the front end, well I think it was a moot point. Maybe I’m more of a traditionalist. The paint on this Nomad is so good it really hurts my eyes on my 85 inch Samsung. Great Video Thank You 🙏

    • $200,000 is a lot of money but I'm guessing that the owner easily spent $400,000+ to have it built plus the wait time. If a person has the means to buy it, you get instant gratification, and it would be awful hard to build one that was nicer, and for the money you save buying one that is already done, you could buy another car built to the same level. Having a custom car built is a huge waste of money, but for people that can afford to have a car built, most aren't too worried about that.

    • @1911MikeinOregon Absolutely gorgeous car, but just curious, why would someone put $400,000 into a rebuild only to sell it for $200,000 after rarely even getting into it?? If that truly is the case then some ppl have too much money!! 😂 I hope they give to children's charities like St. Judes or Shriners hospitals!!!🙏❤️😎👍

  • Not a hater here, but for all the high-quality work and huge money investment on a resto-mod, why wouldn't you spend a few bucks to put electric windows. Please tell me they did and the crank handles are deceiving. I absolutely love this car, but the oil leak on the floor at 10:40 didn't go unnoticed. Hopefully that was a spill from a top off. Obviously, this way out of my price range I could ever afford, but if I were perfection would be necessary.

  • How in Gods name, can common folk, like myself, afford these type of classic vehicles, anymore. The 'Barrett Jacksons/ Mecums Auctions, and thus, has made it impossible for us to join 'For the only Rich' to enjoy. How sad is that. No need to respond. Like I said , I understand it's a rich persons pastime, anymore🤬
