  • It took so much time for this video to be released ! I can't even imagine the time it tooks you to manage the project, make sure everyone only place one block, edit every block placement sequence, etc... Congrats for reaching the end of on of the biggest community event of Trackmania ! I feel so proud to be part of it ! Thanks a lot Edge !

  • Block number 264 was probably the most impactful block placed. It truly took the map from good to great. What was once considered to be a solid 9/10 was instantly turned into a 10/10. God bless the true gamer that placed it there.

  • Wow this project took a long time and the video must have taken ages as well. The placing of a checkpoint is kinda lame since it requires someone else [or multiple people] to 'waste' their block reaching the checkpoint you made. If ever done again, I'd love to see either a rule that checkpoints can only be placed in positions that are already achievable in the map [and that blocks can't prevent those checkpoints from being reached], or that they can only be placed, say, after 20 blocks have been placed between checkpoints. This is insane, though and I wouldn't expect a project like this to be done again any time soon O_O great work

  • How about enforcing that each player has to be able to finish their version of the map? The rules would be: A: Finishes are special blocks, every other (track) piece else (start, checkpoints, boosters, decoration) is covered under rules C and D. B: Once you get the map it is highly recommended (but not strictly mandatory) to delete (any number of) the placed finishes that you won't use. C: You may not remove any block that another player placed. D: You have to place exactly one block E: You may (but don't have to) add one finish. F: You have 30/60/whatever/unlimited minutes to set a time on your map for your edit to count. (You leave in the finish that you used so that the next players know where it was placed.) This would ensure that the map is playable by at least a decent fraction of players. If one section is very hard, you would place some block to help you with it (rather than being unable to contribute). If two sections are very hard, you can only improve one and have to try to somehow grind the other one. A malevolent player could place an obstacle in the already built path, but only as long as they themselves have the skill to make their way around it, or as long as there's no checkpoint on that section of the track. It would eliminate checkpoints preemptively placed in hard to route to places (because they would be impossible to reach so that you won't be able to go through them yourself). Checkpoints would instead be used to "lock in" finished sections of the track. Let's say 3 players place 3 upwards ramps right after the start. Any future contributor could theoretically just ruin that part by blocking it off, placing a finish behind the start and driving backwards into it. However, if the 5th player places a checkpoint at the end of that ramp, that won't be possible any more. The blockage would simultaneously have to open up an alternate route to the checkpoint. The sneakiest thing you can do is to place a finish that is also part of the track you drive on (since any future player can delete it). However, deleting that finish has the same caveats as above: the track has to be finishable without it.
