When I first started watching the show I thought it was terrible. But over time I figured out what the show was really about. And I know enjoy listening to see what these yahoos have to say. I am still think ESPN is going to make things difficult.

@@EpicGames28they had zero tickets (for the first two tourney rounds) left after only 30 minutes of the tickets being up. Sole college basketball players don’t do that, not to mention the fact that it’s women’s college basketball. Youre genuinely delusional if you don’t think she’s the biggest pull in current sports. They sell out (almost) every road game as well…you need to figure it out

Lisa Bluder was head coach at St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa in the late 80's and 90's before Iowa. Amazing the stardom she has now!

Dad received his post graduate diploma from Iowa. I taught school, and coached girls basketball this was 3 on 3 ( 3 offensive players & 3 defensive players). The varisty head coach, and I procured a school bus, we took our teams to Iowa City to watch the Iowa women's basketball team, the team at that time was coached by C.Vivian Stringer, our girls just loved that night and wanted to do it again, we got our tickets for free, we had connections. Mom grew up 25 miles West in the town of Williamsburg, her mother ( Grandmother ) taught Kintergarten for over 40 years in Williamsburg. We ( Reed Family ) did our tours in Monticello & Fairfield. Dad was at Parsons College. My cousin Dr. Rhys Jones taught in the school of Denistry. So I have Iowa connections.

And without Iowa women's basketball, I never would have known about The McAfee Show. 🙂 Seriously, I was out sick from work about two months ago, cruising YT history and science videos (my go-to genres) and an occasional Larry Bird video, when some Iowa women's basketball videos started popping up as recommendations. It didn't take long to get hooked on the Iowa team and Caitlin Clark, and then I stumbled upon this channel. Except for the Olympics, I haven't paid much attention to women's basketball since the mid-1970s when one of my high school classmates, good friend, and neighbor was starting point guard for three years running. She was a bright spot on an average team. She was also the best basketball player on our street, although only the second-best athlete. First was a three-sport athlete in high school (football, soccer, and track and field) and two-sport Division 1 athlete in college (soccer and track and field). Unfortunately, he played basketball like it was football so we stopped letting him play in our pick-up games at my house (we had a large driveway, about 2/3 of a half court, and the only 10-foot hoop on the street). 🙂
I'm not from Iowa, but I saw a video of a Dowling Catholic game where her team lost to a team I think was South East Polk, or something like that. How was that possible? I had the impression that she never lost a game in HIgh School. Can you imagine the girls on that team telling their grandkids some day that they beat Caitlin Clark's team in High School? They could make a movie about it. LOL!
She has said high school in some ways was harder than in college because the other girls did not care as much as she did

Women's basketball is getting its flowers thanks to a group of excellent young women that bring talent, skill and the right attitudes to bring eyeballs to the game at the right time. Other sports take notice of this and take notes because NCAA women's basketball is looking like a bigger draw than the men's game right now and currently definitely more than the NBA
