How to Taper Table Legs on a Jointer

In this video, I show how to use a jointer to create repeatable tapers on table legs. It might be intimidating at first, but it's easy to set up and doesn't require any special jigs.

  • Used this process to make 28 inch legs with a twenty inch taper and it worked like a top. Can’t go much longer than that a the jointer bed was a restriction. Also the fourth side is a bit trick as you working with a tapered edge up against the fence just used the straight 8 inches as a guide not sure if it would have made a difference if I would have forced the taper up against the fence. Also did the whole line marking on the fence and then set up a stop Thanks for doing this video it was a big help
