TEAHUPO'O | THROUGH THE LENS OF DOM MOSQUEIRA
In this film we dive deep into the life of big wave surf photographer Dom Mosqueira. Spending his youth as a vagabond Dom sailed his way to Tahiti and never left. Living in proximity to one of the worlds biggest and most dangerous waves, Dom Mosqueira risks life and limb in pursuit of the perfect photograph of world class surfers riding the worlds most dangerous wave, Teahupo'o. Surf photography perfected through the lens of Dom Mosqueira.
He was born in Mexico, schooled in Canada, worked for Richard Branson in the British Virgin Islands and discovered his new home, Tahiti, while sailing around French Polynesia - Dom Mosqueira might just be the most interesting photographer in the world. You’ve seen his work on the cover of SURFING and beyond, most often from the water at Teahupo’o.
We have always been fascinated with people who followed their passions, lived with an almost singular focus, and done so successfully. Living the type of lives that don’t fit into our societal norms. The lives most people dream of. The ones that leave us wondering how these people pull it off? What did they do differently that not only allowed them to pursue their passions, but were actually able to do so with real success. Leading self sufficient, thriving lives in high risk, unconventional ways.
We spend our days seeking out these individuals and telling their stories through our short films. We have focused on artists, athletes, and adventurers that threw caution to the wind, laid it all on the line, and actually pulled it off!
Find out what makes these high performing individuals tick. Dive into the minds of some of our generations most fascinating humans through cinematic adventures told through our lens. We will be releasing teasers content and behind the scenes stories to go along with and build up to the release of the actual short films. We will be releasing new content across our social channels daily and new posts here bi weekly. So if you like what you see, subscribe and give us a follow so you don’t miss anything. In the meantime, buckle up, cause it’s gonna be a wild ride

Bro hearing your worst wipeout at the start gave me anxiety, I am so happy you got that breath before you went over for a second time, I could feel your panic inside me as I have been in similar spots just not as life threatening, amazing video btw.
Thanks a lot. Really appreciate it.
That quiet place is the only place where we truly feel alive and free. Mahalo bro for your wisdom. I've been trying to find my self after loosing a loved one. And you truly help me do that. Mahalo
Thank you so much. We are honoured to have been able to help.
This is why I scour you tube for vids like these. I hope this gets 10 million views.
Thank you so much C Dawg! You came to the right spot! We put out new stuff weekly! Hope to keep you entertained!
I've traveled the world with Dom but my most favorite trips are the ones where I am able to join him at Teahupo’o! Dom is one with the water and you won't understand that unless you witness it in person. He's genuine, a jokester with an infectious laugh. I miss him and I miss Teahupo’o! Thanks for such a great piece on my buddy Dom Dom!
Oh that's amazing Beth. Thank you so much! We are really stoked you liked it, especially since you know him so well.
@Beth Lyden howdy and THANK U for taking the nanosecond/time to type the whole name- proper name-- kool name!!!! I'm sure Many People appreciate a billion times more than me!! I do too, that's why I'm complimenting U!!!! smiles joy and good luck to you and yours
Wonderful. Teahupoo is beautiful and has the most beautiful and scary waves when they are big. The guy on the speedboat smoking one haha. And what an image the guy must have had in the last wave. He looking at the top and inside the wave... you don't see any surfer admiring this beauty above his head. Congratulations on the beautiful work.
I love your narrative style videos they really make me feel like I’m there with you, amazing story!
Wow! Thank you so much Eddie. That means a lot.
I felt like i was being sucked down, headed towards the dry reef with a 15’ monster looming. The way you tell this story is captivating.
Anyone can film from a boat but you put yourself in the water up close and personal with the Surfers that is serious photography! Please stay safe Aloha brother and thank you for putting yourself on the line amazing shots!
This deserves so many more likes and views than it has. Fantastic story telling, wonderful job in creating the mood, and capturing the experience...just phenomenal work.
Wow thank you so much. That really means a lot. We put a lot into this project and it's really rewarding to get this kind of feedback.
Is not even about the likes, it is about a humble experience of existence. Glad this man is alive.
Much respect and credit to you... on sooo many levels. Cheers and all the best
Absolutely brilliant!
Thanks a lot
10:09 the way the guy look at the wave is so unique, dropping one of the most difficult waves in the world and still had time to appreciate the moment, what a clip!
So mental! Thanks for watching.
i use to sound like this when i was young. young, fun and overriden by emotion
Spectacular!
Thanks so much!
So much respect. No board, no floatation, and heavy camera in tow. i’ve only lost my board a few times in 20+ years of surfing, and each time was the most scared i’ve ever been in the water. I can’t imagine doing what he does. Fins or not, you have to be in some serious shape.
What he does is really gnarly. He's a beast.
So beautiful!! That wave is a freak of nature.....when professionals get hurt or worked there, I'm a intermediate surfer and there is NO WAY I'd surf there!
Epic!!!
Yes Moooooose!!!
Beautiful!
Thank you!
hearing about that wipeout experience is something that kinda scares me going into bigger waves. I've never surfed anything like teahupo'o before and I'm honestly not too sure how to go about it. it looks amazing though and this video showed me a little more about what it may be like. thank you for making this video man, really appreciated it
One of the best videos I’ve seen period.
Thank you Richard. That means a lot.
such an inspiring film - yes full of heart and soul! Dom has a great energy!
Thank you so much!
That was a great watch, Good story and some amazing water photography from Dom. That one shot of Jon is incredible. Maybe one of the best wide angle shots I've seen from Tahiti. That wipeout story is mental, would love to come shoot that wave one day. Looks incredible. Great work to all involved
PLEASE! Keep Teahupo'o as it is. NEVER to be developed with nasty buildings for money! I beg you. Absolutely stunning. It needs nothing but love and respect. Thanks for the eye candy, beautiful imagery🥰🤙😃
Thank you so much.
Lived in Tahiti for 25 yrs. and the worst case scenario he described can happen at any of the reef passes there when the swell is pumping - pure, absolute TERROR. Easily some of the best, craziest, baddest locals on the planet hands down when the ocean gets angry.
We couldn't agree more. Such an epic place filled with epic people. Thanks for watching.

Really appreciate it Al.

Great production. Very inspiring.
Thank you Wes
Hearing his story reminds me of the old days. You're caught between panic and clarity, but somehow you get through it and thank fuck you're still alive, but exhilarated and scared shitless still.
Exactly!
Wow such a cool video
Thanks Ingrid!
Bro. Greatest video on Teahupoo I have ever seen (yes even "Code Red").
Wow! Thank you so much!
@@PirateandPalm You're welcome. It has everything I have not seen about that magical place. I love the way it goes from his drama of nearly drowning to the bridge, the village, the dope shots of that reef, surfers, body boarders et al. Fantastic!
