Agreed that the Stars are in a must-win scenario. Game one should have been a statement and instead they came out flat. Hoping the team comes out hot tonight and shows Vegas we won’t be an easy out.

Detroit also had empty seats when they were good because the local economy was terrible (over-reliance on automobile industry) and it took longer to get back to relative normal. Plenty of fans couldn’t afford to fork over discretionary income for sports tickets in Detroit Metro

I was going to say _I'll be glad when Crosby signs an extension, just so all the tabloid stories about him leaving stop._ But that's not going to be the end of it. When Crosby retires, I wouldn't be surprised if the usual suspects float stories about him possibly coming out of retirement to play for [insert team that's not Pittsburgh]. It's so tedious. I'd be shocked if Crosby ever plays for an NHL team other than the Penguins.
Varlamov was great. Sorokin deserves a chance because he’s the future of the Isles. However as long as Lou is employed, the team has NO future.
DeSmith doesn’t need to be Demko he just needs to be DeSmith, but with that being said I believe in this team. Nobody said this series would be easy.

I figure Crosby signs a 3-year extension at a flat 8.7M/year, and anything beyond that would be 1 year extensions if he wants to play into his 40s. I suspect he could play until 42-43 but I figure he retires at 40.
Damn kings still get no respect even from other fans by not even showing up to watch because they’re too confident they’ll win against us with no issue. It’s hard being a kings fan from the respectable way.

As a decades- long Dallas fan, I feel the same way.
They went down 0-2 last year and that turned out poorly. So yea must win.
We're going to have to accept that .887 isnt a bad save % now..especially in the playoffs. Its 11 goals per 100 shots.
.887 is below average. Teams don't win the cup with below average goaltending

Considering you may only get 5 games total, I think it's fair to criticize someone who makes 11 million dollars for having no points in 2 games, especially when you lost one of them and were only 1 goal ahead in the other one. That is potentially 40% of the total games.
Crosby can do whatever he wants but if he stays with Penguins, he’s not allowed to complain about not winning. I get they almost made playoffs when they were DOA a month ago but, I mean it is by all accounts no longer your objective to win a cup. Let’s just be honest. And that’s fine too. I'm going to have to disagree with you Shannon on Casey Desmith in yesterday game he wasn't terrible he only let three goals in at most that's not bad. It's was the team that blew yesterday game Miller, Boeser, Pettersson and the defense didn't show up yesterday even Demko couldn't save us from that performance. If everyone pulled their weight yesterday night we would have a 2-0 lead in the series now.
You better win Game 2, Stars, or you can pretty much kiss your season goodbye which would be shameful.

He hasn't been that guy in the last 2-3 seasons , He's lost a step/steps and his reads are questionable and he doesn't have the motor to recover and he's never been overly physical so he loses position .

Actually don't think the series is over for Dallas if they lose tonight. The results from the third game of the series tends to show how the series will end, at least in vegas case. In 13 out of 15 playoff series the results of the third game have been the results of the entire series. The only exceptions are the stanley cup finals that they won, and the five minute major one. So I think the series will be decided then.
If Dallas is down 2-0 and headed to Vegas, there's zero chance Dallas wins four of the next five games, especially with three of them being in Vegas.

I like the Stars chances. Vegas does play with a swagger and with coach Cassidy’s hawk eye attention to details..so yes formidable.
