  • In my first year of teaching, another teacher colleague said to me, "Spell contraception. If you can't spell it, you shouldn't have children". Never have truer words been spoken LOL.

  • Enfin un anglophone facilement compréhensible sans avoir besoin de sous-titres à la con ou mettre pause 👍🏻 ça fait du bien !!! Tu déchires

  • It's good the kids have regular time off but yes, not easy for foreign raised parents to manage the holidays & regular vacations that make Swiss cheese of their schedules. On the positive side, the kids learn to work hard at school and enjoy their time off, in principle. Many French parents, bless them, memorize the calendar in order to keep on top of things.

  • I’m still recovering from the fact that French schoolchildren don’t get paid holidays.

  • Yeah it’s nuts for sure. Tonnes of time off. I have 5yr old twin daughters who will start CP next year. Luckily the schools are pretty good at having some extra things in place (Accueils de Loisirs and Guarderie) to look after the kids after school and on the days off. But good luck with it all Paul

  • I think you’re confusing education with childcare. 😉

  • Typical anglo response of someone who didn't grow up with the system. Americans say the same thing about the metric system "I don't understand it!! It's so confusing!! I'm used to weather being 90º!!" If you grew up with it, it's easy to understand.

  • Donc «la laîcité» est la règle en France, sauf pour les vacances. L'Ascension? Qui fête l"Ascension?? Absurde.
