I came to this video after watching documentaries and interviews of survivors from 9/11. My heart can’t comprehend how much hatred people could feel to act on it and cause so much devastation and death. I was 11 when I experienced what happened on 9/11. I lived in small town in NJ. We got sent home from school around 9am. I sat in front of my grandparents tv watching everything happening live. I’ll be 33 this year. I’ve relived that day again and again every single year since.
I remember this day very well also. I'm 30, and I was 8 when this happened, and I remember going home early as well. My parents came and got me and my sister from school after picking up my other 2 younger siblings, who were toddlers at the time. My dad then drove us on this steep hill in a town that I'm from in Jersey, and it had a clear view of the world trade center and we could all see what was happening to the towers. It was a very sad day, and all I could remember was that I was happy to be with my family, especially at a time like this. My condolences to families invite in this tragic event 😔

what!?!sent home early!?!? I was a senior in high school and we didn't get sent home early 😮 we lived in michigan tho 😅 my school was so weird it depended on the teacher I didn't know till about 930 945am that anything happened. Some teachers knew it was BIG NEWS and had the tv on all day just watching 👀 some teachers went on teaching like nothing was going on. Mrs long English let us watch the TV I had to go poo every morn about 10am so I asked can I go bathroom and as I did I seen a Sub teacher I liked Ms Kelly so went to say hi and the tower fell and I rem i was like wow almost 10am exactly it fell😮then we heard pentagon got hit and we were all like yeah we at war some my classmates were gonna be 18 like goin to war now , I wrote a poem the next day it was a English class and she hung it on the wall .

Participating in a mission like this takes enormous cajones. They entered a house of the most wanted fugitive in the world not knowing what they'd find. Mission accomplished and no one seriously harmed. Amazing job.

@@matthewsmith6176 they sued him for writing the book. said it went against his NDA and gave away secrets.
@@iknowyouknowweknowleeknow1990 Except he published it without it being reviewed thanks to the advice of a bad lawyer, as the book was supposed to be reviewed by the Department of Defense since it covered an important military operation, and yes, the Department of Defense has that right. It still applies to books about military operations to this day, as they could hold sensitive information, information that could possibly leak how our military operates at the time of a books release. Yes, soldiers can write books about what they do, but there are agreements made that must be followed to prevent classified information from being leaked. I was in a different place in my life when 911 happened but when I look back on all of this I literally broke out in tears 😢 on how sad that day actually was Thank you so much Navy Seals for putting our country at ez with catching him it's unbelievable how this man had a compound build in the shape of a PLAN 😮
I was 20 working at the Supreme Court house in nyc on 100 center street. The first hit we thought was thunder. After the evac of building and everyone learning what was going on it was havoc. People crying freaking out running every which way. Lots thought the world was over and we were under attack. If you were fortunate to have a cell phone at that time you couldn’t make any calls as all the networks were down and giving you the busy signal tone. Radio stations all cut radio play and we’re giving the emergency broadcast signal and covering the event. I lived in north Jersey I didn’t get home till the next day as cars were left abandoned close to the bridges. Since I had a official work id I was able to get through the military and nycpd check points and get within blocks of ground zero. Nobody will never understand what it was like walking through what looked like a foot of snow but it was ash.

I appreciate this guy’s humbleness, and how he makes sure to account, that it took the entire team’s effort to pull this operation off, even pointing out the contributions of everyone from the analysts to the pilots, to the guy who grabbed him & held on so he wouldn’t of fallen out of the helicopter when it crashed onto the compound’s wall, vs other interviews I’ve watched from O’Neill that were all about him, him, him.

Read his book. It’s a good read if you’re interested in his story leading up to the raid. He talks about lessons learned in previous deployments like trying to slowly stealth your way into places is rarely the right option.
