2022 ж. 20 Там.

Kamaru Usman vs Leon Edwards 2 ended in shocking fashion as Leon Edwards finds the head kick to end the dominate reign of Kamaru Usman. How did Leon set the kick up? Were people right in counting Leon out? Who do they fight next?

  • Leon Edwards really embodied the phrase "fear the quiet man". When you look at Leon you get almost no read on where he's at mentally, but his corners are yelling at him every round, you've dominated him enough to win a clear UD, and there's 1 minute left. It would be reasonable to assume that he's mentally defeated even though you can't visually confirm it. I really do think that lack of feedback led Kamaru to assume Leon was done and let off of the pressure he had the whole fight. Leon really showed his mental toughness, to be less than a minute away from losing what he waited YEARS for and still be calm enough to not only find the perfect opening but to strike PERFECTLY for the walk off. What an incredible finish man.

Leon was a scared puppy the whole fight till he landed that than he thought he was a gangster after lol. He is gonna lose the belt and never get another shot at it again. We have seen this story before. Lets calm down , matt serra acted like that too till gsp fought him again and whooped his butt. Amanda Nunes came back and slapped up Julianna . • 2 important factors: 1)People really forget how how the altitude was affecting Leon's cardio. Usman is used to the altitude as he lives near that region so he wasn't getting tired as fast as Leon. 2) Leon's gameplan was absoultey shocking. Leon did back up and gave ground to Usman for most of the fight for no reason at all. It you want to beat Usman you have to pressure him back or at least stand your ground. Burns knocked Usman down when he pressured Usman in round 1. Colby had some few good mintues when he pressured Usman back. And now Leon KO'd Usman when he finally pushed Usman back in the 5th round. I was really suprised with Leon's gameplan as he allowed Usman to push him back easily and that Leon was extremely gun shy until the 5th round. If Leon wants to win the rematch he must stand his ground and be offensive on the feet right from the get go or otherwise he will likely lose the 3rd fight if he fights like he did tonight.

As crushing as it is, especially if you're an Usman fan, these are the moments in MMA that remind us no matter how good, great, or dominant a fighter may be, ANYBODY can lose. • I would love to see the 3rd fight but i think its about time someone called Usman out for his fouls (faking nut shots when hurt to the body, faking eye pokes and putting his hands in the fence). • That kick did hit Usman in the crotch, it was clear in the 2nd angle of the replay. I get tired of some of these commentors that seem to love to claim that a low blow wasn't a low blow. Rogan does it all the time. Consider that Mr EPO Usman usually has a cardio advantage against anyone and everyone - so why would he be faking nut shots?

      @JumpingWatermelons@JumpingWatermelons Жыл бұрын
    • @@JumpingWatermelons Because he got hurt? Just like when he faked eye pokes? Dude literarly knows that they have to stop the action for a little bit if he calls a foul, so he does it when he's in trouble. Even if you don't wanna believe that, him and Burns are both ALWAYS AND REPEATEDLY hitting the back of the head against everyone who lets them. The judges should really fckng stop the fight and DQ one of them for that at this point. Otherwise, they're just gonna keep doing it and I don't think that it's a coincedence that they are (ir at least were) both from the Blackzillians, a gym famous for steroid use.

Joe or DC said it was Leon's thumb knuckle that hit the eye, which I think is not a poke, but on that one Usman probably couldn't tell the difference. Definitely agree about the likelihood of Usman using PEDs. But not sure what should be done.. Is USADA'S testing Insufficient? After TJ popped for EPO I read somewhere that USADA was only testing for EPO rarely, which, if true, is an incredible failure and would really erase whatever credibility they might have had
