It feels like indie games are where most of the creativity is these days. The restraints of a small budget is a hassle, but it also frees indie creators from the burden of needing to appeal to everyone, because their game has to make ten million dollars just to break even
Yea especially since alot of AAA games lately are mostly money grabs or they go over the top with graphics and nothing else. Indie games seem to be more thoughtfully crafted.

Glad to hear everyone is stoked for Omori. I'm mildly chuffed about it as a Kickstrater backer who has been waiting for it - or any concrete idea of when the switch port would be ready - for ages and wish I didn't have to hear more from an Indie Showcase rather than straight through Omocat, but such is life. I genuinely am happy a finish line is on the horizon and that it got this attention to ensure it's even more successful.

I was talking with my friends about this Direct at lunch and we were sharing predictions. I jokingly went “lmao what if they finally ported Don’t Starve Together to Switch?” needless to say, when it actually popped up, I almost screamed with glee.

I was already happy with don't starve together being ported, and then, when I was finally ready to move on, Omori slapped me in the face.
I was scrolling through the direct seeing nothing I knew about, then suddenly DST. I'm so excited, but a little surprises that such a good game coming so soon to switch only gets a few seconds

Alisha, Sea of Stars, and Olli Olli World are now on my hype list. Figment looks like a really interesting concept, but the character seems like they're moving underwater!
There's demos of both figment games, the first one is fun if a little frustrating.

Loco Motive and OMORI are my two most anticipated games from this Indie World. Can't wait to try them out! Parkasaurus seems fun. As someone who grew up playing a lot of Zoo Tycoon, I'm really looking forward to this game.

Since Omori is my favorite game of all time, I’m unbelievably excited to buy it again, this time Depression: Portable Edition! Also saying “Omori leans on some heavy themes,” is the understatement of the century lmao, and honestly not enough of a content warning tbh.
Sea of Stars has the vibe of Chrono Trigger and Golden Sun. So definitely a must-have.

@@kroutkas5507 I meant it's *awfully* similar to Chrono Trigger, even going to far as to include a monster (boss?) that's modeled after Lavos. They're definitely hoping to pull in people who loved the music from Chrono Trigger and the art/monster designs.

YESS OMORI! Perfect timing, I got into Omori one month before I got the OLED switch. I already own the game on PC, but only played once through the true route. I might buy it again on switch to try the hikikomori route. And also to further convince my sister to try playing Omori herself.

I feel like Silksong would be announced on a bigger direct and not Indie World
I mean it was first announced almost three years ago (14th february 2019) and according to the alleged Geforce Now leak it's coming out in february 2022. So since it didn't get an official release date during the Game Show the Indie World was the next best opportunity to announce it before release, IF(!) the leaked date would actually be true. I guess it's understandable that people are eager to get an official release date soon. But at least Sea of Stars got reconfirmed for a 2022 release, even though it's the end of 2022. That announcement in the start got my hopes for Silksong up.

as I said in the chat though, I'm afraid nintendo give little recognition to these developers, since they just put one direct and a video for that game, and that's all of it. There are even games there that are very interesing but ended up only 5 to 6 seconds in the screen. I do gotta admit I want to play those games and wish for them to not die out.

I was hoping to see Omori here, even though there was nothing to suggest that it would be. I've been waiting to play it on switch because I'm not good at focusing on games on pc, and I noticed that the first anniversary of the game was coming up. Then I checked the game's twitter and saw that the account had some consistent and vague posts starting in december and in the days directly leading to the indie showcase. So I'm not completely surprised, but I am very happy!

Calling it, when we get the next Smash game, whenever that may be and I'm willing to wait for it, we're getting either an Omori Mii Costume or an Aubrey Mii Costume. Maybe even both. But seriously, everyone PLEASE consider playing OMORI. Its legitimately one of the most emotional games I've ever played and the game is also my absolute favorite with amazing music, incredible battle system, amazing art style, and phenomenal characters.
It's an incredibly well done game. The best way I can even describe it while avoiding spoilers is taking the wackiness of undertale mixed with the horror of silent Hill

watched this with mah friends, cant wait for all the new content coming out next year! As a person who doesn't use their switch that much, i say that this will make me use it much more. My favorite might be Sea of Stars though, it seems so fun!
Omori has an authorship that sets it apart from something like Mother or Undertale in a way that feels completely earned. It's really as great as people say it is - just give it the patience it needs when you start it.
The only game I'm looking forward to honestly is Omori. Looks fun and emotional
