The 1956 Volkswagen Beetle has a seized engine. It was sitting for 40 years before we pulled it from it's soon to be grave. If we can't get this engine unstuck we will replace it. Join along on the journey of this forgotten old car revival series.
It’s a testament to the quality of your channel, that you don’t even need too speak to enjoy your work. Awesome
thank you for the kind words, much appreciated
Watching that car rock back and forth reminded me of the good old days at the Drive-in!
That VW is a real oldtimer, love it, best car VW ever build❤. Keep trying to put it back on the road, i wish you good luck!
That is wonderful that you are bringing back an old Volkswagen back to life. That type of car has a cult following of sorts.
Thank you , working on it right now :))
Many years ago my brother-in-law sold his 1956 VW bug. Two months later two cops were at his front door to arrest him. You see, the car was still registered in his name and had been used as the get away car in a bank robbery. He wasn't arrested but it was a fun story he told for years.
thats a crazy story !
It’s my favorite Saturday afternoon show. Glad to see you doing something fun. Great video. Hope your having a great weekend.
Hi Marty, thank you, always having fun even when I'm getting my arse kicked :). Hope part 2 sat afternoon...although I did drag something home yesterday :)
Old Beetle rescue & generator fettle in the same video , like Mustie's long lost brother 😅😅😅😅 great work getting the gennie going in the field !
After all the videos of getting old engines to start that I wouldn’t have a clue where to even begin, fighting to start the generator brings it all down to my world.
I hope the car runs better than the generator.
That was a WONDERFUL 17:29. Can't wait for Part II
Words can’t describe it!
Very nice old car. Good lock! ✌️😉👍
I had one that I completely rebuilt in the early 1970's. I only had to put the final paint over the primer coat. It had new everything on the inside. The inside was painted, new headliner, seats were reupholstered and I rebuilt the engine. Life got in the way with work etc. , then I went off to the Peace Corps. When I came home, I lost interest in it. It sat in my parents barn for many years. Dad wanted it moved out and I ended up giving it away to a man that worked at my father's company. I guess I should have kept, but it is long gone now.
I really like when you explain stuff about the engines and cars so I learn more
Fixed my wheel barrow before shoveling still have not shoveled but wheel barrow is great maybe tomorrow. Beautiful place. Love the ovals
Wow J, I'm really diggin' the style on this video, reminds me of other,🤫 video's. Missed you on Father's day, son saw you, I was and have been in search for a nice set of heat exchangers. 🤫 I honestly really want to get back to video's so you may see me soon... I know I know. Hard to find time. Anyway keep doing you and living the life. We'll cross again. E-🦸♂️
Definitely missed you guys in the ice cream line . I was taking to Josh about that if he remembered. I might have a set , I’ll let you know . Yes , start uploading 👍
@@5150mxVW i have your engine stand if you want it, also I may be making an appearance in Maine next weekend to score misty some heat exchangers. She has been running hot and I believe its the exhaust system that is in need of a complete overhaul. Maybe I'll see ya up there
Are you giving us the silent treatment Jason huh, huh, huh? lol. I find it more interesting when KZheadrs talk. I know some KZheadrs never talk in their video's ,I don't bother watching those. You will get that engine running, yes you will!! Keep up the great video's Jason :)
I wondered if it was a restart of a beetle or a generator.
Great vid! Cant wait for the rest of the story! 🤙
thank you J
Bosch plugs, I bet those are the ones that came in it!
U worked well to deserve that beer 🍺🤣
yes :)...one and done haha
I love seeing Mr T sitting on the generator, watching you work!
😎😁
Ooooh how often I have done this; working on the tools before I can work on the project.
🤣
Hopefully you will get the engine to turn over. Also hope to see you at the Terryville show and say hi!🤟
Wow the camera seems different? Very clear and HD! Missed hearing your voice. There was an extra chair, I would’ve hung out and had a few with you lol
Thought I watching a silent movie with out your usual commentary on your progress.
PB blaster should send you a case of product at the very least! I hear people brag on that oil called Kroil? but I still like my P B blaster!
Is this the silent movie?......The exact opposite of me.....ha ha.
Nice one to add to your collection!
yes it is , thank you Mike
@@5150mxVW all good mate!
Loving the artistic sound of the oval the silence of discovery ,poetic ,dark and relaxing 😊
good to hear you enjoyed it, thank you
Put that pull cord on the car and pull like heck 😲
keep on rockin Jason you will get it
hey Drew, thank you
Like the look of that beetle. Enjoyed the narration. Different
thank you 1772
you always make me laugh, your always saying it's my last bug rescue , 😍
haha, well I dragged a Bus home last night
it is good that you don't have a brand new 2023 honda generator. most of us shade tree "mechanics" have to make do with "crappy" "used" or older stuff like that generator. you are keeping it pretty real. good video! and a "pity da foo"!
haha, we lost power one night and it was raining . I go out to find ole yellow and try and start it. well you saw the edited down version of starting it . I spent 20 minutes wrapping the cord and pulling the starter in the rain only to realize it had the on off switch ...in OFF of course lol. I finally got it to run after dropping the bowl and was digging for an extension cord when the power came back on ...1 hour later HAHA!
Looking forward to part 2...really like that 56
Thank you Todd , me too
I just love these engines❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
I had to laugh when you walked around the generator several times.....my Great Dane does the same walk around every time she pees.
Ready to see part 2 , this is how I find them all the time , miracle oil in spark plugs for a while , let her marinate ! Thanks for sharing
nice, yes, been filling it daily , thank you
I lkie retro cars. Amazing job!
thank you!
Toll Käfer wird gerettet. 😊❤
Giving us the silent treatment huh? 😢 Man if my lawnmower had a starting cord like your generator I’d have binned it after a couple of pulls 😂
We just started watching you, great channel.... Oh We had 2 or 3 of those fancy starting lawn mowers, like that generator you have.
For sitting all those years those windows sure are clean. I call BS.
Cool video. Nice to hear the birds and the wind in the trees. That car is a beauty! I was waiting for your son to come out and give you some support! Look forward to update.
hi, thank you , he made the 8 hour round trip this past weekend to start the rescue of the NH Buses in a stream .....but yes, he has been slacking :)
@@5150mxVW He's a good kid!✌
You sure have more than your share of difficulty today. And I miss your banter. Hope it smooths out for you.
haha, always :)..2 talking vids coming soon , thank you

Buster Keaton "The General" 😊
Excellent Video Man, Cool Oval Window, I Old-School VW Content, Looking Forward To The Normal Video Where You Do More Chatting & Educational On What You’re Doing Though.. Be Well Good Sir!!
So you have a nice long life line. Which means you will be around for a long time. Happy days. I bet Jen will be happy with that. Me too.
Must be there is no German air in the tires……. As it has cease to persist. Great attitude as always happy hunting for that great barn door in the sky.
Loved the new ASMR technique, that sucker is seized!!
thank you 64, still stuck, still soaking :)
@@5150mxVWKeep trying, put it in 4th gear and pull it with your tractor
@@christiansanden8005 yes, i've done the 4th gear push / rock a time or two....it's still soaking :)
The best car ever, I drive four times a Beetle, great!
Fill the block with diesel and let it soak for a few days. You'll probably still need to strip it but at least you won't have to beet the shyte out of the pistons to get them out.
Greetings from Venezuela, that volk car is from 1957 with a 30 horsepower engine and 1100 cubic displacements, that's how they originally came
That's why I have a Diesel generator, first crank every time.
Remember sir, sometimes your valve train will be hanging you up. If you take those rocker assembly’s off, your not fighting a possible stuck valve. Terrific job, wonderful video. Thanks for sharing. Totally jealous.
thank you for tip , I ended up trying that as well....still soaking , still stuck :)
I hope all is OK. I miss your stories and self banter always enjoyable.
Hi Rick, all good , thank you..new " talking " vid out soon :)
Looks very clean for sitting so long...
ASMR first start. Nice angle.
thank you
Sound Director Quit? Budget Cuts? Laryngitis? 😀Nonetheless, I still enjoyed watching your dedication and perseverance to trying to unstuck the motor. I look forward to Part 2. By the way I would have lost it after about three tugs on that generator and "hammer thrown it Olympic style" into the bushes. Thanks for the video!!
HAHA, thank you , you should of seen me when the power went out in the rain messing with it
Bosch Copper plugs always used them!
That 3rd plug you took out look like it brought the threads with it!
Best thing to overhaul engine a to z .. should be curious to see his every step on engine and body.
Boa noite meu amigo parabéns pelo trabalho muito bom
gracias
Here we go again. Yeah!
Coming along nicely, I am sure it will free up soon. Maybe better with the engine out as she is well stuck. Great video Jason please keep going with this, it is well worth the effort.👍👍
thank you, it's still soaking and still stuck
Loving this ASMR like video ! Cool
thank you Tommy
@@5150mxVW you’re welcome ! I’m in the UK and look forward to seeing your latest vw rescue and engine start! That first fire up moments always magic
Ok, vamos aguardar a segunda parte dessa série.
👍👍
Holy Crow Jason :) hope engine breaks free to for you and start up okay 👌 👍 😉 to! Looking forward more videos too soon watch!
thank you Andrew, i'm not looking forward to pulling it if the studs are frozen in the transmission
Great video!!
thank you 4's
let soak overnight...put a good six-sided scoket on the crank with 6 foot cheater bar...work it back and forth it'll break loose.
That must be your new home after the last couple of cars I've seen you put on the trailer.
perhaps....
the cars body doesn't look too bad to me. Worth tinkering on.
Kinda like the look of the chrome oversized wheels with that original paint. Leave the paint and make it a little ratty looking. Great sleeper car potential.
Great vid, as always!
thank you
Qué suerte tienes amigo de encontrar esos tesoros 👍sorry no speak english 🤷♂️
New camera? Wicked clear!
no...hmm, maybe the nice natural light ?
Gosto muito de Fusca ainda mais quando eu vejo uma joinha dessa muito bom 👍👍

Hope u can put it back on the road - still such a looker !!
thank you Henry
The old silent movie engine repair, eh?
Great work 😍😍
thank you
I love this model. They even had a reserve fuel system and no fuel gage indicater. It had a huge fuel filler, which could accomodate the hands.
You musta got the generator off M 1. 😂
That oval sure is sweet! =) Let me know if you find another one! =) 😎😎😎
Seeing you so busy with that starter cord brings back hidden nightmares from the distant past. Thank you. I'll forward the bill from the psychiatrist to you if you don't mind ;-) Will be at least a few 100 sessions ;-) btw Nice video ;-
The engine bay was full of leaves but not one leaf or twig had settled on the outside of the car in 40 years??
Yeah man! Gonna hafta pull the motor Rad Dude!!!
that could be stuck in there as well
@@5150mxVW I've had one that the motor was stuck in the trans! Studs and input shaft were swollen with rust, had to pry it out with 2 big crow bars!! YOU HAVE THE POWER, RAD DUDE!!! Haha
@@christophercornetet5037 that happened on the 1955 engine drop, what a nightmare!
First good car that I ever owned
nice !
I’m digging the silent video.
glad you enjoyed it
Que grande el bocho 💪💯
Like this New type of Video 5150 ! You got more Talent than old VW's ! Good Video work ! But I miss Your Laugh ! Hope i didnt say or go to farr with my comments ! Sometimes ? Think Good Thoughts ! Don't Feed The Negative ! Straight Ahead ! ✌😎 PS put some Anti Seize on those spark plugs!
Awsome🔥👏
thank you 88'
Surprised Jason hasn't gotten burnt out, on saving these cars. It's a lot of work loading and unloading cars in poor condition on trailers. I did a few in my young days and learned my lesson.
Quiet day at work😁 She’s certainly well stuck
The unending struggle...
Amen
A man of few words..
This way he can focus on what he is doing. Nothing wrong with that.
Good.job😄😍👍👍👏👏👏Nice. Vw
