I used to bathe my Bassett Justin in my double sink. His head and tail would hangout onto the counter. Soapy chaos! He loved it so much that at least once a week he’d try to fling himself up to the sink to have another spa session. This video made me very happy, thank you.

I had a Bassett for 8+ years. She was a rescue. BEST dog I've ever had! Loved everyone except the mail carrier! Lol. I hope when I leave this body SHE will be the spirit that leads me to whatever comes next: not family , not friends. My beloved Miss Floppy!!!

My Bassets go to day care once a week, and STILL Clementine doesn't trust them to do her nails. It takes 3 people and a muzzle. 1 to hold her, 1 to shove treats in her gob, and 1 to actually cut her nails.
I understand, I have a great dane, and when she was a puppy I trimmed her nails, but I made the mistake of clipping her brother's nails in front of her 1 day, he too hated having his nails trimmed ( pittie) and so, acted like death was upon him each and every attempt.. once my lil girl witnessed him freaking out it was a wrap! I cannot cut her nails, no one can.. I walk her everyday pretty much to keep her nails trim.. and don't ask me about baths, completely impossible
Just watching that relaxed me somehow…

I admire your patience, my bassethound whines when I clip his nails, so now I use a Dremel to file them. I invite my sister over and she has to lay next to him while I give him a manicure for half an hour 😂.

You should really give the dog some form of ear protection when you dry their ears. it is very clear that he doesn't like it when you get near his ears with the dryer
My 2 girls (bassets) HATE their nails done to! I rubbed their feet from 8 was on to get used to it but they still hate it.

That is a nice Basset. Try using a grinder on his nails instead of clippers.
