I nearly lost it trying to tell Harrison Ford how I felt about growing up watching his films. I flew 14 hours for 5 minutes with this guy - totally worth it! Big thank you to Disney for this incredible opportunity. See Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny...it's truly a fantastic addition to the Indy franchise, and a perfect way to say goodbye to the character.

Harrison felt that at the end. That hit him in the heart. Yes it’s a job, but he should take more credit for the life he gives to these characters and the way they touch people. The interviewer said it best: If I was ever having a hard time as a kid, Indiana Jones was always there to take me away for a little while for an adventure. And so much of that is Harrison’s doing

Ford worked hard and made a legend of himself. We love the legend, and he’ll always be. Whatever they say, won’t change anything. We prefer to see Harrison Ford than commentators making a living killing ppl’s efforts with their mouths. That’s why those making a habit bashing Legends never become one themselves, and legends like Ford, Lucas, and Spielburg live on forever❤ Ford on the film, ”I am coming to that age. I’d like it to feel real to them…as well as the complexity of something they have spent 40 yrs with…” Inspirations transcend not only onscreen, but it’s behind the screens, all these dream makers’ collaborative efforts enabling us to relive that childhood dream once again. My respect for all the stories told, or untold during the making of these films!
It took a lot of balls to get so personal in your position as the interviewer, but you toed that line and got to connect with a legend without overstepping any boundaries. A truly beautiful ending where you spoke for so many people! With the negative reception of the movie overall, it's nice to see Harrison acknowledge the love the fans have for him.

I don't understand the negativity towards this film. I truly loved it and I could tell Harrison Ford wasn't just mailing it in. I think Disney's recent controversies and maybe a little trepidation after the mess that was Crystal Skull probably has something to do with it. But it seems that most people that actually went to see Dial of Destiny without a chip on their shoulder liked it a lot... so I hope it does well in the long run.

Harrison likes to play a wry sense of humor most of the time but you can see his smile just after the 5:00 mark is totally genuine and that he truly does care and appreciate the fans and the characters.

I have really enjoyed seeing Ford in interviews for this movie lately. He just seems so genuinely appreciative of fans and seems to be very thoughtful of the career he's led. I know the film hasn't done so well, but it has really brought out a lot of love for him and his career. Man, the bit about how as a child you could have terrible shit going on at home or school but you’d put on a VHS/DVD and just watch these movies over and over - yeah, that got me. It was Indiana Jones, it was Back to the Future, it was Moulin Rouge, LOTR old Disney movies- and it genuinely helped me through some really tough times in childhood. So yeah, thank you Harrison Ford.

I am 38 and I grew up with Indiana Jones movies like many others. I am having a very difficult time in my life just when Dial of Destiny was released. It helped me feel better the same way his movies used to cheer me up when I was a little kid.
Its funny because although Harrison Ford says he loves all his past roles the same - there is a huge difference in how he talks about Indiana Jones vs Han Solo lol
It bewilders me how many people hate the film when Harrison Ford himself loves it so much.

I love this man so much. Growing up on Han Solo, Indiana Jones, Rick Deckard, Richard Kimble, John Book, Jack Ryan etc. truly has made him a living legend to me, and i hope he continues making movies for as long as possible.

Totally agree, The Last Crusade was the first live action movie i saw, at the theater, with my father, when i was 6 , so i have a special place in my heart for Indy, and still to this day, one of my favorite movies of all time.

The reason this character is so beloved other than the obvious of how charismatic Harrison Ford is. I know for me growing up watching these films with my Dad, I looked to him as my own personal Indiana Jones always being amazed at the things he could do that I hadn’t learned yet. Getting to go sit at a theater and watch the final chapter unfold with my Indiana Jones is a memory I’ll cherish for years to come.
I’ve known Harrison since he was this wise-ass kid in American Graffiti and followed him through the galaxy and through the Amazon jungles. Fact is there was a line in his movie that said “a dog? you were named after a dog?” So, I name my puppy “Indiana” or INDY for short. So when I call Indy, I remember the star!!!
Dear Brent, First of all, thank you. I am a 57 year old high school teacher in Portland, Oregon. Your interview was just fantastic and you did such a terrific job of listening and basically holding it together which I really admire and deeply respect. The comments you made regarding how important Harrison Ford and the characters he has portrayed were to you and so many others who had hard times as a kid, were so genuinely beautiful and so right on that this old cluck just burst out in tears like a three year old. Indiana Jones has always been a refuge for me when the world becomes overwhelming and so much of that has to do with Ford's ability to take on the character of the "everyman," despite the fact he was portraying such an exceptional hero. He did this with Han as well. I can remember going to the theatre alone in 8th grade to see Raiders of the Lost Ark in Phoenix in 1981. As I found my seat, I can still clearly recall my excitement and almost nervousness. I loved Star Wars but NOW I was going to get two hours with Han Solo all to myself! That was exactly how I remember looking at it. And then the film started. That first complete shot of Indy stepping into the light after relieving one of his company of a gun with a whip was when I knew that this wasn't going to be a Han Solo movie. It was going to a lot better than anything my 13 year old brain could have ever believed. Since then, Indie has gotten me, and so many others, through dark times by believing that anything is possible, a sense of humor goes a long way and that the qualities WE ALL admire in our heroes can be ours. It is only a matter of discovering them within ourselves. I'm still searching and that's okay. Indiana is too. Thank you again for absolutely lighting up my day Brent. You did such a great job and Harrison was so moved by what you said which was I believe, what so many would have wanted to tell him if they had been there. Now that's a great reporter. Cheers.

Ever since I realized this was going to sort of be my career, I had in my head that Harrison Ford was number one on my wish list. I'm not sure I ever thought it would actually happen, because he's such a hard one to pin down... But thanks to some great friends and colleagues, it happened, and I could not have imagined it going as well as it did. Harrison was very forthcoming, and Phoebe was incredibly patient with my hero worship. It was a pretty surreal experience. On my show I often talki about how I appreciate teachers and what they do, and that they aren't thanked or compensated nearly enough.... So thank you for what you do, and I hope you occasionally sneak a relevant Harrison Ford scene into the curriculum. bb

You really should take three long breaths friend, you are buying this corpo-bullshit with the enthusiasm of a youn pelican who just cought his first fish. This is paid interview on a corporate time, there is as much truth in this as is in the response of Burger KIng worker who is asked "which burgers are better: yours of mcDonalds" or asking Pepsi marketing departement : do you prefer pepsi or coke." There are very few actors genuinly passionate about their roles: Tom Holland, Henry Cavill, Cate Blanchet, sir Christopher Lee, but remember that most actors are just very narcisistic, egocentric people who just want to see themselves on posters, it kind of comes with the job you know, hard to go to 100 failed auditions if you do not already believe that you are god's gift to humanity.

Yes, Larry Kasdan, he really needs to take a lot of credit for writing the character of Indiana Jones. He wrote the script and myself having been a major in film in college, the movie script is the “blueprint”. Too often the screen writers don’t get enough credit. (Edited for correction)
I thought Lucas created Indiana Jones? In a documentary about the making of Raiders he says he got the name from his dog at the time. Not trying to take away Kasdan cause he brought the character to life.
I mean, it was technically George Lucas who came up with the character of Indiana Jones. Lucas pitched it to Spielberg, they collaborated on a story with Phillip Kaufman, and they then hired Lawrence Kasdan to write the full screenplay. Kasdan definitely deserves credit for his writing, but not necessarily for being the one to originally “create” the character.

What the interviewer said was true, Indiana Jones has helped me in some of the hardest times of my life, especially now, my ex girlfriend left me a little while ago and I am still unable to move forward, however rewatching the Indiana Jones films and especially watching this on on release day, it reminded me that everything will be ok, that I can be as strong as Indie, and it reminded me why I love movies and why I’m still living today, so thank you Mr. Ford, thank you for giving us these beautiful films I will cherish for the rest of my life.

I got bullied every day I went to secondary school both physically and mentally, and my thoughts were I can't wait to come home and pop my Indiana Jones collection on vhs and later the widescreen dvds and like Jaws they would take me on this adventure and I loved the 4th disc with the behind the scenes Documentaries that I'd watch as much as the films and now at 31 when I saw the 5th one it was an emotional rollercoaster for a character who I'd grown up with my whole life to see him aged and living in a present time in his life and the ending was beautiful it was like saying farewell to a character who will still go on, in my heart and on screen my gratitude for Harrison Ford for bringing this character to life 💙💯

It's the longest answer I've seen Harrison Ford invest in a simple, honest comment from the interviewer, good to see his take on the end of Indiana Jones and what it means to a lot of people.
I went to the Concert for NYC at Madison Square Garden two weeks after 9/11. Harrison Ford was one of the celebrities walking around the floor, saying hi to the Firefighters and Police, talking with everyone and being such a genuine, kind human being. I watched as he held a widow, listened to her, and took time to really hear her and offer true compassion. Everyone in tears. I'll never forget him and that moment.
He is and always has been amazing! 🖤 shame we all gotta get old 😪

Great childhood memories! I can just hear the themesong and get goosebumps. Love the music so much that we played it on organ at me and my wifes wedding and both my childrens baptism. So powerfull! ❤
It’s been really great to see Harrison Fords emotional response to the fans during the promotion for this movie. It almost feels like this is his farewell tour even though he has many projects on the horizon. At the same time this is Indiana Jones’ farewell tour so that makes sense.

Still single handedly one of my favorite movies of all time. When i was a kid, i had the box set and even played it on vhs. i closed my eyes every time after my first watch. I even went on the indiana jones ride once in California and kept my eyes shut the entire time. My mom never let me ride it again. The shadows in this movie, combined with all the lighting, the effects/music and the cast made this a staple for “movie magic”. This the type of movie make you feel alive! There where 3 people i wanted to be growing up Batman (christian bale) Steven Spielberg (the director) And indiana jones (Harrison ford) Cant wait to watch the other ones later this week. I swear i felt like a kid again this brought back so many memories. Golden 10/10

Brent, what a great and emotional interview! Don't think I've seen him so relaxed and genuine about his craft before. You can really feel that Harrison care when he talked to you. It's even more amazing that it went so well knowing that I was next to last after a very long day of interviews. These guys had been going for hours and hours before I got there, and still pushed through. It was more than I could have hoped for.
